UK: Albanian drug offender who grew 200 cannabis plants avoids deportation under ECHR because his girlfriend does not speak his language
A man who was jailed for growing over 200 cannabis plants has avoided being deported after it was ruled his removal would be “harsh” on his partner.
Armando Iberhasaj was handed a four-month prison sentence after being discovered at a property in Springfield Crescent, Bolsover, on October 15, 2019.
Iberhasaj claimed his deportation would breach his rights to a family life with his partner under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
He claimed this outweighed his criminal threat to Britain, given that he had been jailed for less than a year, the current threshold above which foreign offenders face automatic deportation.
Iberhasaj was found at the Derbyshire property alongside another male, who said they had only been at the property for a matter of days.
They claimed they were being paid to water and feed the crops, which were already in various stages of growth.
Tom Heath, prosecuting, told Derby Crown Court that Iberhasaj answered “no comment” to initial questions posed by police officers, but later pleaded guilty.
While upper immigration tribunal judge Sarah Pinder admitted that growing cannabis “certainly” could cause “serious societal harm”, she added the four-month sentence handed to Iberhasaj was “indicative” that his conviction “in the specific circumstances of the offending, did not cause ‘serious harm”.
Judge Pinder remarked: “Expecting [Iberhasaj’s] partner to relocate with [him] to Albania, would, I accept, cause her unjustifiably harsh consequences.
“This is because she has no ties or links to Albania other than through [Iberhasaj] and she has never visited Albania nor lived there herself.“
“She gave evidence, which I accept, that she is committed to her employment and to being independent, enjoying her career and earning her salary.
“I also accept her evidence that she has recently been providing daily support to her sister and her mother, who each have health and physical needs with her sister in particular being investigated for a possible cancer diagnosis.”
Home Office lawyers argued Iberhasaj had started his relationship with his partner at a time when he had no legal right to be in the UK.
The Home Office had also made clear it intended to deport him, a fact that she had been made aware of from the beginning by Iberhasaj.
Lawyers suggested that while it was “inconvenient” for his partner to move to Albania because of the language issues, Iberhasaj had been able to adapt to the UK when not speaking English
They stressed the initial offence “caused serious harm” because the trade in illicit drugs had “a severe and negative impact on society, adding: “It is a process causing misery and sometimes death to the many thousands of people who are unfortunate enough to become addicted to them. Drug addiction affects not only on the drug users themselves, but also their families.”
The decision regarding to Iberhasaj and Article 8 comes as ministers are pushing to change the way the laws apply in migration cases.
Article 8 has been used alongside Article 3, the protection against inhuman or degrading treatment, to prevent people with no right to be in the UK being sent back to their home countries.
Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy told ministers from other ECHR countries: “The definition of ‘family life’ can’t be stretched to prevent the removal of people with no right to remain in the country. The threshold of ‘inhuman and degrading treatment’ must be constrained to the most serious issues.
“States must be able to take proportionate decisions on the removal of foreign criminals, so that we renew the convention’s democratic foundation.”
Both Reform UK and the Conservatives have pledged to take the UK out of the ECHR should either win the next General Election.
Tory Leader Kemi Badenoch said: “I have not come to this decision lightly, but it is clear that it is necessary to protect our borders, our veterans, and our citizens.
“I have always been clear that we should leave the ECHR, if necessary, but unlike other parties we have done the serious work to develop a plan to do so, backed by legal advice from a distinguished King’s Counsel.”
A Reform UK spokesman dismissed these plans, adding: “The Conservatives had 14 years in government to leave the ECHR. Since then, it’s taken them 14 months to even decide what their policy is…the Conservative Party is finished.”
Gallup Poll Shows That One Every Four French Citizens Wants To Leave the Country, Among Huge Drop in the Confidence in the Institutions
27% of the French want to bid adieu.
Failing French President Emmanuel Macron has the ultra-low poll numbers of 11% support – the most unpopular French leader in the last half a century.
Out in the world, Macron is galivanting, trying to meddle in problems beyond his geopolitical reach, and avoiding as much as possible to deal with the serious problems of the French Republic.
And poll numbers released earlier this week reveal just how frayed the social fabric of the country is, at this point.
Euronews reported:
“According to a Gallup study published on Monday, confidence in French institutions has plummeted this year, while the desire to leave France has only grown. Euronews spoke with several French expatriates and prospective expats about their experiences.”
The Euronews report interviews French citizens and expats criticizing the ‘lack of opportunities for entrepreneurs’, the ‘monstrous tax burden’ and the ‘very bad atmosphere overall’.
Needless to say, Euronews does not connect the dots, and not a word is said about unchecked mass migration.
With the political instability in the country, migrant violence and the stagnant economy, the desire to go elsewhere is surging.
“According to the institute, 27% of adults in France say they would like to move abroad permanently if they had the chance, up from 11% last year.”
Yes, you read it right: the number of people wanting to leave France more than doubled in a year.
Confidence in the national government, in the judicial system and in the financial institutions all fell sharply.
“This loss of confidence comes at a time of significant political instability. Since the surprise dissolution of parliament in June 2024, Macron has had one prime minister after another, all faced with the absence of a parliamentary majority.”
Christians Become a Minority in Germany – Nearly 1,000 churches have been shut down
Around this time of the year, Germany is known as the land of Christmas markets and gothic cathedrals (not to mention the inevitable Muslim terror plots aimed at them), but in reality, churches are being closed and going up for sale all across Germany.
The number of church members in Germany is falling rapidly. In 2024 alone, the two major churches lost over a million Christians due to people leaving the church or dying. Currently, more than 45% of Germans still belong to either to the Protestant Church in Germany or the Catholic Church. Thirty years ago, that figure stood at almost 69%. This is why churches are now being deconsecrated or desacralized.
Since 2000, hundreds of Catholic and Protestant churches were decommissioned. In response to a DW inquiry, the German Bishops’ Conference informed of the closing and decommissioning of 611 Catholic churches between 2000 and 2024. The Protestant Church estimates that some 300 to 350 churches were permanently shut in the same period; more precise figures are not available.
Yes, Christians have become a minority in Germany.
The official statistics say that 24% of Germans are Catholic, 21% belong to Protestant churches, and 47% have no religious affiliation.
4% belong to ‘other’ religions and 4% are Muslim.
Don’t get too comfortable with that 4% number though because the numbers that matter are the next generation. And Muslims make up a much larger proportion of younger people. And those numbers have been selectively hyped by some Christian sites to show that a majority believe in some spiritual ideas.
Just not actual Christian doctrine.

UK: Teacher reported to counter-terrorism programme after showing students Donald Trump videos in class
A politics teacher at an Oxfordshire sixth-form college was reported to the Government’s Prevent counter-terrorism programme after screening Donald Trump videos, including inauguration footage, to his A-level students.
The lecturer, who is in his 50s, was effectively compelled to leave his £44,000-a-year position at Henley College following the referral, ultimately accepting a £2,000 settlement.
“They likened me to a terrorist. It was completely jarring. It’s dystopian, like something from a George Orwell novel,” the teacher told The Telegraph.
The sixth-form college in Henley-on-Thames with over 2,000 pupils, reported him to local child safeguarding authorities in January 2025 after two students lodged complaints.
Officials subsequently determined that a Prevent referral should be treated as a “priority”, and the teacher faced accusations of inflicting “emotional harm” on students aged 17 and 18.
Local child protection officials suggested the video screenings could potentially constitute a “hate crime”, according to documents reviewed by The Telegraph.
A report dated May 22 said that the lecturer’s views “could be perceived as radical” and recommended the college proceed with a Prevent referral.
The document also expressed concern that “this behaviour could cause harm to a child” and that “his promoting of views could be radicalisation”.
The teacher, who first qualified in the mid-1990s, described feeling “completely insulted at the suggestion I was a danger to children” and said the ordeal affected both his mental and physical health, requiring him to seek counselling.
Among the footage shown was Mr Trump’s inauguration and five campaign-related videos.
One clip was a music video called Daddy’s Home featuring comedian Roseanne Barr and Canadian performer Tom MacDonald, which has attracted 7.8 million YouTube views and was actually recommended by one of his pupils.
The lecturer maintains he presented balanced content, including Kamala Harris videos, as part of lessons on politics and propaganda following the President’s election victory.
“We were discussing the US election, Trump had just won and I showed a couple of videos from the Trump campaign. Next thing, I was accused of bias,” he said.
“One of the students said they were emotionally disturbed and claimed to have had nightmares.”
The teacher believes he was targeted after taking over the politics class in September 2024, having previously taught business studies at the college where his work received praise.
The teacher, a practising Catholic and Republican supporter who insists his views are mainstream, denied being a far-right extremist when asked.
The Free Speech Union, which provided legal assistance to the teacher, condemned the handling of his case.
The organisation argued that safeguarding laws designed to protect children from serious criminals were being misused against individuals holding unfashionable political opinions.
Lord Young, the FSU’s director and a Conservative peer, said: “The United States is our closest ally and Donald Trump is its democratically elected leader.
“Showing one of his election adverts to a class of politics students, particularly alongside one of Kamala Harris’s, does not make you a risk to children.”
He described it as “a clear-cut case of safeguarding protocols being weaponised to silence someone for political reasons.”
Henley College said that it “does not comment on individual allegations or ongoing investigations”.
The Oxfordshire sixth-form added: “We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of all our students and staff, and follow statutory safeguarding procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.
“Allegations are handled with due care, in accordance with statutory guidance, with appropriate support provided to all involved.”
Muslim Country Which Enslaved Millions of Europeans Demands ‘Reparations’ for Colonization; also it has 89,000 slaves today

Now, Algeria’s regime is demanding ‘reparations’ from France.
Algeria’s parliament has unanimously approved a law declaring France’s colonisation of the country a crime and demanded an apology and reparations.
In a solemn ceremony steeped in symbolism, 340 of 407 members of Algeria’s National Assembly voted late Wednesday to approve the law.
The law stipulates prison sentences for any action by an Algerian celebrating French colonialism, for attacks on symbols of the Algerian resistance, and “remarks with colonial connotations.”
That last part is the actual substance. No one is allowed to oppose Islamic terrorism or suggest that minorities were better off before Islamic terrorists took over.
But if Algeria wants reparations, how about we start with reparations for the over 1 million Europeans trafficked through Algeria’s slave markets.
What’s the price to be paid for Algeria’s habit of taking European women as sex slaves?
The United States had to fight a war on ‘Algiers’ to stop its habit of attacking American ships and taking their crews captive. Before that we were paying ‘reparations.” Jefferson refused to keep paying reparations.
Meanwhile, Algeria has an estimated 89,000 slaves today. Where do they apply for reparations?
Algeria’s Islamic regime can consider French ‘colonialism’ a minor down payment on the reparations it owes for enslaving millions.

Two Algerian men accused of abducting and raping a woman in Toulouse in September 2022, before leaving her naked on the roadside, appeared before the Assize Court on Monday to answer for their alleged crimes.
France left Algeria long ago. Perhaps it’s time for Algerians to leave France.
Romania’s Globalist Regime Goes Full Police State: Masked Prison Assault Used to Coerce Testimony Against Călin Georgescu
Romania’s globalist-controlled government, widely seen as illegitimate after canceling the first round of the last presidential election and barring frontrunner Călin Georgescu, has crossed yet another chilling line as disturbing revelations emerge from inside Rahova prison.
What is unfolding looks less like justice and more like a coordinated campaign of intimidation against national-conservative figures who refuse to bow to thuggish globalist power.
Horațiu Potra, a key defendant in a politically charged case aimed at Romanian conservative, anti-globalist circles surrounding Călin Georgescu, winner of Romania’s last presidential first round, was brutally assaulted in his cell late at night, reports from the Romanian news outlet Realitatea has revealed.
According to accounts from his legal team, masked inmates entered his cell and beat him until he lost consciousness, raising serious questions about who authorized or facilitated the attack.
The violence did not end there. The following morning, Potra was allegedly confronted by prison authorities and threatened in a manner that evokes Romania’s darkest communist-era abuses.
According to his lawyer, Potra was told that unless he agreed to give statements against Călin Georgescu, his son would be thrown into a cell with some of Romania’s most violent criminals. The message: cooperate with the globalist regime or watch your children suffer.
This is not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern of coercion surrounding a high-profile case accusing Georgescu, Potra, and others of vague “actions against the constitutional order.” Despite the seriousness of the charges, critics argue that prosecutors have produced no concrete evidence to substantiate claims of an “attempted coup,” mirroring their earlier failure to prove allegations of so-called “Russian interference” in the last presidential election.
Călin Georgescu, a key figure in the proceedings, has faced separate legal pressure after being tried alongside a military contractor leader extradited from Dubai. That association has further intensified scrutiny of the case and raised questions about the integrity and political motivations driving the prosecution.
Pressure from Romania’s increasingly desperate globalist regime appears to be applied indirectly through intimidation, harassment, and psychological warfare targeting associates and family members.
Potra’s lawyer has described masked interrogators who claimed to represent “the Romanian state” and demanded false testimony without legal counsel present. When Potra refused, the threats escalated, revealing what many see as a rogue operation inside Romania’s justice system.
Legal complaints are now being prepared against prison officials and unidentified interrogators for blackmail and abusive investigation. The defense insists these acts cannot occur without at least tacit approval from higher authorities.
The timing is no coincidence. As conservative, anti-globalist sentiment grows and figures like Călin Georgescu and parties like AUR gain popular support for challenging Brussels-aligned elites, the Romanian government appears increasingly desperate to silence dissent by any means necessary.
Globalist politicians in Bucharest, protected by EU institutions and foreign interests, particularly the French state headed by Macron, are accused of weaponizing the courts to eliminate political opponents they cannot defeat at the ballot box. When elections fail to deliver the “correct” outcome, repression becomes the tool of choice.
Like much of globalist-controlled Europe, Romania’s ruling class still lectures the world about democracy and European values, yet allows beatings, threats against children, and secret interrogations to take place behind prison walls. This hypocrisy has not gone unnoticed by the Romanian public or by observers abroad.
Supporters of Georgescu argue that this case proves the regime fears him precisely because he speaks openly about sovereignty, national dignity, and independence from EU dictates. The attack on Potra is being viewed as an attack on Romania’s patriotic movement itself.
What is happening now will define Romania’s future. Either the country confronts this descent into authoritarian abuse, or it accepts that dissenting voices will be crushed to preserve a corrupt, globalist order.
History has shown Romanians what happens when fear replaces law and power replaces truth. The question now is whether the nation will tolerate a return to those methods—or finally break free from a government that no longer serves its own people.
The Pope’s Christmas statements wrapped leftist political values in religious garb

Pope Leo, in his two Christmas homilies during the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day masses and his Christmas message from the balcony above St. Peter’s Square, showed himself to be unusually focused on Gaza. He seemed more exercised by the plight of Ukrainians and (Muslim) Gazans than by the mass slaughter and oppression of Christians across the Middle East and Africa. He also found time to attack immigration enforcement and capitalism. I know that, being Jewish, I’m the ultimate outsider, so I devoutly hope I’m not offending anyone here, but the whole thing struck me as a weirdly political way to welcome in the Christmas season.
Leo’s odd messages began with the Christmas Eve mass, when he attacked capitalism:
While a distorted economy leads us to treat human beings as mere merchandise, God becomes like us, revealing the infinite dignity of every person.
Yes, capitalism can be abused, but he’s got the whole thing bass-ackwards. It’s in Marxist economies where people are simply widgets of the state, forced to work at its command.
In a truly capitalist economy, one in which the state acts to prevent fraud and other criminal acts, individuals strive for themselves and, along the way, enrich others. There’s a reason that the wealth of the world—a world in which almost all people had once lived in abject poverty—skyrocketed when capitalism finally took hold.
By the next day—the Christmas Day homily—the Pope lost his focus on Christ’s birth and his ministry on Earth. Instead, he directed a lot of energy to Gaza:
Dear brothers and sisters, since the Word was made flesh, humanity now speaks, crying out with God’s own desire to encounter us. The Word has pitched his fragile tent among us. How, then, can we not think of the tents in Gaza, exposed for weeks to rain, wind and cold…
Is it just me, or is it peculiar that the Pope—the head of the world’s largest Christian denomination—would include in his homily poetic tears for the Muslims in Gaza, and not mention the slaughter of thousands of Christians across the Middle East and Africa? (Incidentally, Muslims in Africa are also slaughtering their co-religionists, if they’re the wrong type of Muslim.) And of course, there’s the now-routine slaughter of Christians in Muslim Middle Eastern countries.
It also strikes me as a complete lapse into moral relativism, something the Church once stood against, that the Pope seems unconcerned with what led to Gaza’s destruction: Namely, the genocidal October 7 attack on Israel, followed by the Gaza population’s wholehearted support for Hamas to wage war, rather than to return the hostages and disarm. But again, I’m Jewish, so maybe my bewilderment is unique to me.
The Pope’s intense focus on Gaza continued in his later speech on the same day from St. Peter’s balcony. This time, he threw in the (Muslim) Yemenis for good measure:
In becoming man, Jesus took upon himself our fragility, identifying with each one of us: with those who have nothing left and have lost everything, like the inhabitants of Gaza; with those who are prey to hunger and poverty, like the Yemeni people…
The Pope also remembered the Ukrainians, who remain a cause célèbres among Democrats:
Let us pray in a particular way for the tormented people of Ukraine: may the clamor of weapons cease, and may the parties involved, with the support and commitment of the international community, find the courage to engage in sincere, direct and respectful dialogue.
However, when it came to the world’s beleaguered Christians—people attacked specifically for their faith—the Pope was more muted. Of those in the Middle East, he had a rather bland, “yeah, they’re facing hard times” statement:
…I wish to send a warm and fatherly greeting to all Christians, especially those living in the Middle East, whom I recently visited on my first Apostolic Journey. I listened to them as they expressed their fears and know well their sense of powerlessness before the power dynamics that overwhelm them.
No moving words about tents, rain, and rubble there. He was even more brief when it came to the slaughter in Africa:
I remember in a special way our brothers and sisters in Sudan, South Sudan, Mali, Burkina Faso and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He didn’t even mention Nigeria. That’s just cold.
Additionally, in the context of his concerns about the suffering Muslims in Gaza and Yemen, the Pope subtly argued for open borders, implying that not welcoming in the world’s Muslim refugees is a lack of compassion and a failure to abide by Christ’s words:
In becoming man, Jesus took upon himself our fragility, identifying with each one of us: … with those who are fleeing their homeland to seek a future elsewhere, like the many refugees and migrants who cross the Mediterranean or traverse the American continent…
You don’t need a degree in English literature to read between those lines. And almost to add insult to injury, the poem he quoted near the end of his homily was by Yehudi Amichai, a famous Israeli poet.
The Pope also took a second swipe at capitalism in his balcony speech. Thus, after his mention of the obligation to take in Muslim refugees, he also said Christ identified “with those who are exploited, like many underpaid workers.” Remember, workers are never exploited in a communist paradise.
Ultimately, I was neither impressed nor inspired by what Pope Leo had to say. Instead, all I could think is that this is what Democrat ideology looks like when it’s wrapped in religious rhetoric. (And again, my apologies if I have offended anyone, but to the extent he got political, I feel that I can comment politically.)
In Austria, children wait for presents from the Christ Child, not Santa Claus
Where I’m from, we believe in the Christ child, not some old bearded man invented by Coca Cola!
You may hear this sentence (or a variation of it) from Austrian or German Catholics who are proud of their Christmas traditions and want to take a shot at American traditions.
Well, as you may know, Coca-Cola did not actually invent the modern version of Santa Claus (more of that later), but it’s true that in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, especially in the Catholic parts, we believe the Christkind (Christ child) is the one putting the presents under the Christmas tree.
When I was growing up, it was typical for my dad to take my brother and me out for a short trip on the afternoon of December 24. In the meantime, my mother would prepare the Christmas tree and the presents, so that when we came back, my parents could tell us that the Christkind had been there. In Austria and other German-speaking countries, we receive our presents on the eve of Christmas. This is because, in the Catholic Church, feast days traditionally begin on the vigil, i.e., the evening preceding the feast day.
The Christkind is a mythical figure that is usually invisible and hidden. However, when depicted, he is usually shown as an angel with a white dress and blonde, curly hair. Sure, Christ was not an angel, but you know how it goes, these traditions take funny turns sometimes.
Ironically, the tradition of the Christkind dates back to none other than Martin Luther, who sought to counter the veneration of saints. Before the Protestant Reformation, the main day for presents was December 6, the feast of St. Nicholas. Naturally, Luther wanted to focus on Christ instead of the 4th-century saint, and therefore moved the main occasion for presents to Christmas.
Today, we still celebrate St. Nicholas’ Day in Austria. The Nikolo (St. Nicholas) visits schools dressed in red robes and rocking a long white beard (much like Santa Claus). Children usually receive small gifts, chocolate, and nuts. But only if they were nice that year, otherwise, the Krampus will get them! (Just Google “Perchtenlauf”… but be warned, it’s very scary.)
However, the main occasion for presents has been shifted to Christmas Eve, and ironically, the Christkind remains a tradition in Catholic regions to this day, while much of Protestant Europe and the U.S. adopted some version of Santa Claus or Father Christmas later on.
To get back to where we started, the modern-day Santa Claus was not “invented” by Coca-Cola and actually does go back to St. Nicholas of Myra, although he underwent many transformations along the way. The Dutch brought their tradition of Sinterklaas (Santa Claus, loosely based on St. Nicholas) to New Amsterdam (now New York). In the 19th century, Santa Claus was transformed through popular literature into a secular figure, depicted as an old, round man with red robes and a white beard. The Coca-Cola commercials of the 1930s then made the depiction famous around the world.
So, in a strange way, perhaps Santa Claus is a more Catholic figure than the Christkind? I’ll let you be the judge of that. Merry Christmas!
Trump-Backed Nasry Asfura Wins Presidential Election in Honduras After Weeks of Uncertainties and a Vote Recount
Another Latin American country goes right.
What was already clear during the first months of the Donald J. Trump administration became official with the release of the new National Security Strategy: the US will support the patriotic forces both in Europe and in the Western Hemisphere.
This strategy is already bearing fruit in Latin America (LATAM), where the right-wing political parties are beginning to gain the upper hand.
Yesterday (24), the conservative candidate for Honduran President, Nasry Asfura, who has been backed by Trump, was finally declared the winner – more than three weeks after the November 30 election.
The vote results were plagued by delays, technical problems and allegations of fraud.
Reuters reported:
“The Honduras electoral authority, known as the CNE, said Asfura won 40.3% of the vote, edging out center-right Liberal Party candidate Salvador Nasralla who garnered 39.5%. The candidate of the ruling LIBRE party, Rixi Moncada, came in a distant third.
Asfura ran on a broad pro-business platform saying private investment was necessary to move the country forward, while his political agenda focused on jobs, education and security.”
The people of Honduras have spoken: Nasry Asfura is Honduras’ next president. The United States congratulates President-Elect @titoasfura @papialaordenh and looks forward to working with his administration to advance prosperity and security in our hemisphere.
