UK: Third of Foreign Students Who Later Claimed Asylum Went to Just 6 Institutions

Some of Britain’s lower-grade universities are awarding educational visas to foreign students “indiscriminately” so they can benefit from their higher tuition fees, an immigration expert has claimed.

Robert Bates, who is research director at the Centre for Migration Control think tank, told The European Conservative that “the main function of many British universities now seems to be the distribution of British visas to foreign nationals.” He added:

It has long been known that the business model of several dozen low-quality institutions is predicated on admitting thousands of overseas students each year, who do not come to study, but instead see the tuition fees as a price worth paying for long-term residency in the UK.

Leaked Home Office figures obtained by The Daily Mail over the weekend show that more than a third of the 6,136 foreign students who went on to claim asylum last year  were sponsored for study visas by just six educational institutions.

Bates told this publication that the news shows that “the dam has well and truly burst.” He said that unless government officials take “drastic action, including preventing many so-called universities from awarding visas at all, the problem will only get worse. Universities will carry on indiscriminately awarding places to ungenuine students.”

Conservative Party commentators have also called for the right to issue visas to foreign students to be restricted to the best-performing universities.

One of the universities highlighted in the Mail report said in defence that “this issue is a result of the government’s asylum policy, which allows visa switching in a way that is outside the direct control of the universities concerned and is not a failing of the higher education sector.”

Higher education body Universities UK International added that in order to “recruit international students, universities must meet very high standards set by government.”

But Bates told The European Conservative that the problem lies with “left-wing faculties” who “do not care what overseas students do once in the UK. Their only concern is increasing the funds that they can direct toward nonsense research into British colonialism or gender studies.”

The Home Office described the “exploitation of our student visa route” as “unacceptable,” and said it has “introduced a package of measures to clamp down on abuse.” But it did not respond to calls for some universities to be stripped of the right to hand out student visas.

Spanish conservatives slam Sánchez’s theatrics after PM announces he’ll continue in office

Speaking at Moncloa Palace Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced he would remain in post. Screen grab youtube

Spanish conservatives pulled no punches in their criticism of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez after the Spanish premier announced on Monday his intention to continue in office.

At a press conference on Monday, Sánchez said a mobilization of support from his Socialist party had convinced him to stay on as prime minister despite a new investigation being opened into his wife, Begoña Gómez, amid allegations of corruption.

The Socialist leader had announced on Thursday he was stepping down from public duties for a few days to consider his position in light of the new allegations, but has since confirmed he will fight on.

Addressing the public following Sánchez’s announcement, the leader of Spain’s VOX party, Santiago Abascal, accused the prime minister of being an “angry, unleashed autocrat” whose “victimizing” theatrics had plunged Spain into an “international embarrassment of incalculable proportions.”

“I said yesterday that the decision made today by the President of the Government would be taken based exclusively on personal interests. I said this while taking into account our experience of the last five years, and I don’t think I was wrong,” Abascal told journalists.

He lamented the decision taken by Sánchez to continue, claiming it would result in the continuity of attacks against “unity, against co-existence, against the rule of law, the separation of powers, and against freedom of the press.”

“The worst for Sánchez is yet to come,” Abascal warned, “and we have to work to minimize the damage to the Spanish people and build a viable alternative. VOX has not stopped doing so with full intensity, exercising total opposition.”

Vox MEP Hermann Tertsch was arguably more scathing, accusing Sánchez and his family of “leading Spain into civil war” and claiming the prime minister planned to “go for the judges, for the free press, and for his political opposition.”

“His Cuban/Venezuelan-style communist criminal project will have us on our knees. He will end up in the trash heap of history, the only place he belongs,” Tertsch added.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of Spain’s center-right Partido Popular opposition, called for an election following Sánchez’s announcement.

“The only way to make a point in politics is to consult the Spanish people. Spain needs a new democratic government, with a president worthy of it and not the regime change that Pedro Sánchez intends to sneak in behind this whole play,” he said at his own press conference.

Spanish political analyst and conservative journalist Rubén Pulido said the ramifications of Sánchez’s decision to continue were not yet known.

“We will see what price the non-resignation of Pedro Sánchez has in the short and long term. After a pause in which we do not know what type of discussions have taken place, in a context of events that are not only detrimental to him but also to Spain.”

He claimed the prime minister now had “zero credibility” and “no respect at the international level,” adding that it was more important than ever to “fight for a change of direction.”

Sánchez’s opposition had claimed last week it was unlikely he would step down because his position as prime minister affords him certain legal protections.

The allegations against Sánchez’s wife, first reported by center-right news outlet El Confidencial, claim she met with the bosses of several private companies that went on to receive government funding or public contracts from Sánchez’s administration.

One example involves two meetings with Javier Hidalgo, the chief executive of a tourism holding company before Sánchez’s government granted the Hidalgo family’s airline, Air Europa, a taxpayer bailout of nearly €500 million.

Sánchez responded to the allegations on Thursday by accusing right-wing media outlets of doing the dirty work of his political opponents who he said were slinging mud to “dehumanize and delegitimize” him and his family.

Pro-Palestinian Mob Blocks Classes and Exams at Paris’ Prestigious Sorbonne University

Far-left pro-Palestinian student activists blockaded the entrances of the Sorbonne University in Paris on Monday following similar attempts last week to shut down the elite Sciences Po research university.

Following the example of activists in the United States at top universities such as Colombia in New York City and Harvard University, pro-Palestinian leftists set up a makeshift blockade of the entrance to the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris, preventing other students from attending class and forcing the cancellation of exams.

Around 150 activists gathered and erected tents outside of the entrance with a large Palestinian flag placed in the centre while signs read: “Israel assassin, Sorbonne complicit” and “Don’t look at us, join us,” Le Figaro reports.

National Rally candidate for the European Parliament, Matthieu Valet commented: “These far-left activists want to make France a lawless zone. Bravo to the police officers who evacuated these activists from the disorder by force.”

“We are here following the appeal of students from Harvard and Columbia,” Lorélia Fréjo, a student activist of the Le Poing Levé (the raised fist) told the AFP. “After the actions at Sciences Po, we are here to ensure that it continues.”

Last week, dozens of radical students blockaded the Sciences Po research university in Paris, demanding a debate on the conflict in Gaza and the lifting of the suspension of other activists.

The blockade, enacted by around 200 activists, ended on Friday as the leadership of the university bowed to their demands, in what has been described as an act of “capitulation” as an American-style town hall on Palestine was agreed to and no sanctions were levied against the student activists.

On Monday outside the Sorbonne, the activists were reportedly joined by National Assembly member Louis Boyard of the far-left La France Insoumise (LFI) party, which has been the principal political backer of the pro-Palestinian movement in France.

The leader of the LFI in the French parliament, Mathilde Panot, defended the actions at Sciences Po, saying on Sunday that “to be heard, you sometimes have to blockade”.

Panot, who faced questioning by police last week for allegedly making an “apology” for terrorism, added: “I will support them as many times as they do it, and we will be there every time the people move to support the equal dignity of human beings.”

On the other hand, recently-installed French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal condemned the actions of a “minority (of students) agitated by political forces, notably La France Insoumise (of) seeking to disrupt the functioning of this institution.”

Attal, who attended Sciences Po for his graduate degree, added: “There will never be a right to blockage, never any tolerance with the action of an active and dangerous minority which seeks to impose its rules on our students and our teachers.”

“For there to be a debate, the rules must be respected, respect for each other’s positions must be permanent, this is not what we saw,” Attal continued, adding: “I will not accept it he added, vowing to “maintain absolute vigilance… on respect for the values of the Republic and the law .”

Canadian doctor could lose his license for advising pregnant woman not to abort her child

Wikimedia Commons, Urvi Goratela, CC-BY-SA-4.0

Let me introduce you to Dr. Terence Davids and his “crime.”

Dr. Davids is a physician working in Saskatoon at the Bridge City Mediclinic. He cares about his patients, including his preborn patients in the womb. He is also a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ.

One day last December, a woman came into the clinic to have her pregnancy assessed by Dr. Davids. However, the purpose of her visit was not to check on the health of her child. This visit was to gather size and development details to pass along to another doctor, who would then dismember and destroy her child through an elective abortion.

As a Christian, Dr. Davids was naturally very concerned about the woman’s intentions and the fate of the preborn child she was carrying. He asked her if she believed in the Lord, and he said to her very candidly, “I don’t think you should go through with this… I think you should reconsider.”

What else would you expect him to say? Anyone with a heart and a conscience would do the same! This woman was about to make the mistake of her life – a mistake she will likely come to regret.

But because Dr. Davids spoke out in defence of his preborn patient and out of concern for the woman and her eternal soul, he has been accused of a “crime.” The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) has charged him with “Unprofessional Conduct.”

Dr. Davids must now face a hearing in the coming weeks. If found “guilty” he could lose his license to practice medicine, and the people of Saskatchewan could lose one of their kindest doctors.

But what could this conscientious doctor be “guilty” of? Caring too much? Having a heart? Adhering to his Hippocratic Oath to do no harm – either to the mother or the baby in her womb? Or perhaps, being a Christian?

Is it now illegal to be a Christian doctor in Saskatchewan?

After all, Christians are called on to share their faith with others and warn them about the dangers of violating God’s law. The apostle Paul’s message to everyone he met was that they “should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.” (Acts 26:20). Are we not commanded by Jesus to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15)?

Dr. Davids’ words were perfectly in keeping with his faith, and they demonstrated true compassion and caring. In fact, every medical professional should strive to emulate Dr. Davids’ example.

However, the CPSS is attempting to discriminate against Christian doctors and their values under the guise of a policy enacted in 2015. That policy states: “Physicians must not promote their own moral or religious beliefs when interacting with a patient.”

Though Dr. Davids was indeed sharing his beliefs with his patient, he was clearly not forcing anything on her. It was up to her to take what he said and either reject it or accept it.

The problem is that Dr. Davids’ comments about her preborn child were unsettling to her. Apparently, she felt “uncomfortable and anxious,” which is why she brought forward a complaint, and why the charge was laid.

Frankly, this mother should feel uncomfortable and anxious about killing her preborn child! She should feel disturbed about having to face God over the matter one day. It is not what the doctor said that caused her anxiety, it is what she was planning to do to her preborn child.

Dr. Davids is not to blame for his patient’s discomfort. It is her own decision to abort her child that was obviously eating at her conscience. And is she now trying to salve it by complaining against the man whose only desire was to save her child?

Now that Dr. Davids has been charged and will soon face a hearing, we need to speak up in defence of this good-hearted, conscientious doctor. We can’t let this brother in Christ face the lions alone!

Join us in signing a petition directed to the CPSS urging them to drop the charge against Dr. Davids and stop persecuting this Christian doctor.

You can also forward this email to your friends and family. We need to let people know about this injustice and get as many people to sign our petition as possible.

Murder of Matisse in Châteauroux, France: The mother of the Afghan defendant allegedly slapped the victim after the stabbing

Matisse on the left, the Afghan knifeman on the right

The details of the brawl that led to the death of 15-year-old Matisse, who was stabbed to death in Châteauroux (Indre) on Saturday, are now emerging. According to the initial findings of the investigation, the two teenagers, who were both travelling on foot, allegedly got into an argument on a public street.

In a second phase, the teenager suspected of being the perpetrator is said to have returned with his mother in the car before stabbing Matisse, according to Le Parisien. However, after these stabbings, the accused’s mother allegedly slapped Matisse, as was also reported.

The alleged perpetrator, a minor Afghan of the same age as the victim, and his mother were taken into police custody on Saturday and are to be presented to the criminal investigation committee on Monday afternoon. As we reported earlier, the suspect, who is already known to the judiciary, was already charged with “aggravated theft and use of force” in another case on April 22. Agnès Auboin, the public prosecutor of the Republic in Châteauroux, opened an investigation into “attempted manslaughter”.

There are still uncertainties, but one scenario seems to be emerging. According to the report, an altercation between the two young people allegedly took place in the street. According to witnesses, Matisse made “racist remarks” during the altercation, as a police source told the newspaper Le Parisien, which urged caution and reminded the public that it was a street altercation.

In the course of the argument, Matisse “got the upper hand” and slapped the other youth, who then fled. At around 5.45 pm, the perpetrator returned by car accompanied by his mother. At that moment, he allegedly stabbed Matisse from the car with two stabs, one of which hit his heart. After this act, the mother of the teenager, who is suspected of having carried out the fatal blows, is said to have slapped Matisse. Le Parisien

A 19-year-old Egyptian man has been arrested for allegedly hitting with a stick a security guard protecting Jewish Brigade representatives on the sidelines of Thursday’s Liberation Day march in Milan, sources said on Friday.
Eight other men from North Africa have been reported to criminal prosecutors over the attack on the Jewish Brigade near a fast food restaurant that also featured kicks and punches.
They were all charged with incitement to commit racial, ethnic and religious discrimination.
The incident was not related to the pro-Palestine demonstration in Milan’s Piazza Duomo.
The marches that took place in Milan and Rome for Liberation Day, when Italy celebrates its liberation from Fascism and the Nazi occupation in World War II, were marred by tension.
In Rome firecrackers and stones were thrown and pro-Palestinian protesters in Milan managed to break through a police cordon.

‘We do not want the name Mohammed to become the most popular name for male newborns in our great countries’ – Austrian MEP Harald Vilimsky warns against Europe becoming a 2nd Arabia or Africa

Austrian MEP Harald Vilimsky speaks at CPAC Hungary.

Austrian MEP Harald Vilimsky, while speaking at CPAC Hungary, said that conservatives were fighting to ensure their homelands remain European and do not become “a second Arabia or Africa.”

“I have the honor to speak before an audience of political friends from all over Europe and the United States. And our common goal is to protect our countries, to protect the Western world from illegal migration and organized abuse of asylum so that Europe does not become a second Arabia or Africa,” said Vilimsky. “We do not want the name Mohammed to become the most popular name for male newborns in our great countries, as is the case in Brussels, where the EU parliament is located.”

During his speech, he praised Hungary and Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán, which he said was working to fight against mass immigration.

“In Hungary, this problem does not exist, because Hungary has a prime minister who truly cares about the Hungarian people,” said MEP Vilimsky, who belongs to the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ), known for its anti-immigration stance and which currently sits at the top of the polls in the run-up to national elections.

Vilimsky used his speech to mock the conservative Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP), which is ruling the country in a coalition with the Green party, as well as RINOs in the United States.

“Many parts of the political world have gone nuts. In my homeland, for example, where conservatives rule, you can choose — and Austria is run by a conservative chancellor (Karl Nehammer) — you can choose from six genders in Austria. Not only male and female, but also ‘diverse,’ inter, open and not specified. This is Austria, ruled by a so-called ‘conservative’ chancellor. They are no longer conservatives, dear friends.

And our friends in the United States have a good and clear term for them, RINOs, Republicans in name only. These new leftists call themselves conservatives, but they are not. They are the destroyers of our cultural heritage. They are the ones sacrificing our traditional values for the health of international cooperation and globalism, shame on them.”

FPÖ has relentlessly attacked the ruling OVP in the past over the party’s inability to control the border crisis, with the FPÖ promoting “Fortress Europe” as a solution to the ongoing immigration crisis.

Vilimsky said that the one thing that should be uniting all patriotic and conservative parties in Europe is to save the homelands, cities, and peoples that call Europe home.

“What defines us patriotic and conservative parties in Europe, as far as I understand it, is to maintain and preserve the diversity of our continent. Budapest, Vienna, Paris, Prague, Athens, Madrid, Lisbon, and all the other wonderful citizen-created cultures of our continent. These must be preserved and maintained,” said the Austrian politician.

He then provided figures detailing the massive immigration crisis facing Europe, noting that the EU has processed over 7.8 million asylum applications since 2014. Only a quarter of these applications met the criteria of the Geneva Convention, while others were allowed for humanitarian reasons.

“But the majority of the applications are instantly rejected. With these millions of people from Africa and Arabia, terrorism also came to Europe. Let us remember what happened in France, the attack on Charlie Hebdo, the assault at the Bataclan theater, the many beheadings and life attacks we had in France. We saw at the Brussels Airport where over 30 victims lost their lives. We had the rifle attack in Strasbourg at the Christmas market. We had a lot of problems also in my home country, Austria, and especially in Vienna.

And our freedom is taken under the pretext of combating terrorism. And how evil is that? First you let terrorists into Europe, and then you take away the freedoms of citizens and create mass surveillance just to protect yourself from terrorists? No, our goals are clear. We want Hungary to remain Hungary, Austria to remain Austria, Italy to remain Italy, Spain to remain Spain — every country in Europe to retain its wonderful character. Our fight is against illegal migration and misuse of asylum rights. And our commitment is to Europe’s Christian Western heritage.”

During his speech, he also described the assembled conservative and right-wing parties at CPAC as “an alliance of peace.”

“We do not want the war between the Russians and Ukraine to continue. We want an end to the dying. We actively advocate for a ceasefire and peace talks. We want cooperation in Europe that focuses on the original goals of peace, freedom and prosperity,” said Vilimsky.

Socialist African Politician in Northern Ireland Again Calls Irish Patriots Who Oppose Mass Immigration “Terrorists” (VIDEO)

A Kenyan immigrant who is set to be the new mayor of Derry City, in Northern Ireland previously called Irish patriots who oppose mass immigration “terrorists.”

SDLP councillor Lilian Seenoi-Barr, an outspoken socialist, was nominated to be Derry City’s next mayor.

A selection convention scheduled for Monday evening was canceled after Lilian Seenoi-Barr was nominated for mayor. The party bypassed a vote and went straight to nominate the new mayor.

Lilian Seenoi-Barr has contempt for Irish citizens who oppose mass immigration from Africa and the Middle East.

Of course, the lefty media celebrated Derry’s first black mayor – even though she has contempt for the Irish people.

Scotland: Humza Yousaf considers resigning as soon as TODAY amid looming no confidence votes

Humza Yousaf is said to be preparing to quit as Scotland’s Fiirst Minister, with sources close to him saying he has accepted his position is no longer tenable.

Senior figures in the SNP have been told the party’s leader decided there is no way to survive the upcoming vote of no confidence, meaning he may stand down as soon as today.

A close friend of the First Minister told the Times: “Humza knows what’s best for the country and the party. He is first party activist and a party man, and that’s why he knows it’s time for someone else.”

Former SNP leader John Swinney is said to have been approached by senior figures in the party to become an interim First Minister if Yousaf is forced to reisgn.

If Yousaf resigns, Holyrood would have 28 days to elect a first minister by a simple majority.

Last week, the First Minister said he would not resign, instead planning to fight the two no confidence votes.

No confidence motions were tabled after the Bute House Agreement, which enabled a coalition between the Greens and the SNP, was dropped following an emergency Cabinet meeting at Bute House in Edinburgh.

The deal, which was signed in 2021 and is named after the official residence of the Scottish First Minister in Edinburgh, brought the Green Party into government for the first time anywhere in the UK.

The First Minister is facing two votes of no confidence this week after his coalition with the Greens broke down.

One was tabled by the Scottish Conservatives in his own leadership as First Minister. The second vote, tabled by Scottish Labour, would force his entire government to resign.

The Greens are due to meet later on Monday but have repeatedly ruled out supporting him in the personal vote.

The Scottish Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats have already said they will vote against him.

Douglas Ross told MSPs at First Minister’s Questions at Holyrood his party had said from the start that the agreement between the SNP and the Greens was a “coalition of chaos” and that it had now “ended in chaos”.

He said: “I can confirm today that on behalf of the Scottish Conservatives I am lodging a vote of no confidence in Humza Yousaf.”

Turkey Embeds Expansionist Claims in School Textbooks

The Turkish Ministry of Education has come under fire for promoting illegal territorial claims and revisionist history in its school textbooks while also shifting towards a more nationalistic framework.

The “Blue Homeland” doctrine, featured in textbooks, asserts Turkish ownership of vast maritime areas in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. This includes Greek and Cypriot waters, which Turkey claims despite being in violation of international law.

Next school year, Turkish students will further enrich their “national consciousness” with lessons on the EEZ, the continental shelf, and territorial waters. The textbooks will also include the Eastern Mediterranean, the Sea of Islands (as the Aegean is called), and the Homeland of the Aethers, as well as the importance of Cyprus for Turkey and the Turkish world.

Critics argue that this integration suggests a shift in approach towards a more nationalistic framework. They warn that the educational material is fostering a sense of nationalist superiority among Turkish students and could undermine regional cooperation.

The move has caused alarm among regional countries, who view it as an aggressive move to undermine their sovereignty. Greece and Cyprus have condemned the claims and urged Turkey to respect the law of the sea.
