Three councillors have joined forces with a local resident to threaten legal action after a historic library was handed over to be used as a mosque.

In June, the Labour-led cabinet at Monmouthshire County Council greenlit a 30-year lease for the Monmouthshire Muslim Community Association (MMCA) to convert the vacant Abergavenny Library into a Islamic place of worship.

But councillors Rachel Buckler, Simon Howarth and Loise Brown have joined forces with resident John Hardwick to bring forward a legal challenge against the decision.

After making the decision to approve the lease, Councillor Ben Callard, who in 2023 said he was “conflicted” a school in the town being named after King Henry VIII, said: “I think it was the correct one and Monmouthshire Muslim Community Association will be good tenants for this property.”

Monmouthshire County Council confirmed it has since received a legal pre-action letter.

The Christian Legal Centre is also supporting the challenge after the four reached out to the Christian Concern non-profit organisation.

In the pre-action letter, the quartet raised concerns surrounding “religious impartiality”, which was not brought up during a call-in review held earlier this year.

During the meeting, Conservative group leader Richard John claimed taxpayers’ cash would be used to subsidise the mosque’s £6,000 per year rent.

However, Cllr Callard affirmed that the taxpayer would not be subsiding the mosque, adding the empty library was put out for competitive tender and the highest submission was made by the MMCA.

He also noted the lease is on a “full repair” basis which will ensure the tenants will be responsible for all maintenance with the building having “significant liabilities”.

Cllr Callard added that it was the Monmouthshire County Council cabinet’s “ambition” to provide a place of worship for the local Muslim population.

The seven-strong cabinet unanimously confirmed their support for MMCA to be awarded the lease.

The chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, Andrea Williams, said the decision “raises serious questions about transparency, fairness, and the proper use of public assets”.

Ms Buckler told the Local Democracy Reporting Service she was unhappy with how the meeting unfolded, with a chunk being held in a confidential session.

She added that it “makes sense to collaborate with” the Christian Legal Centre, hailing them as a “very good organisation”.

The Tory councillor said the “whole point is no organisation should be treated with any more favour than any other.

“It is not about a Christian agenda it’s about the fact a lease was awarded, as far as we can see, for a peppercorn rent for 30 years for an incredibly important civic building that was given to the people by the Carnegie Trust in 1905.”

Labour member of Abergavenny Town Council Reverend Gareth Wilde, said it was “surprising” to see a Christian advocacy group throwing their support behind the challenge.

Cllr Wilde, a retired Baptist minister, said: “It seems more like a governance or spending issue.

“It does seem a little bit muddled.”

The town council member added that “priority” for the building’s lease should be handed to the MMCA as there was no mosque currently operating in Abergavenny.

Syrian receives integration award from the German government – and then vandalises the state parliament building

Wikimedia Commons, Frankain, CC-BY-SA-4.0

It was on the night of September 14, 2024, when the Lower Saxony state parliament became the target of a paint attack. ‘Unknown persons,’ as it was initially reported, smeared red paint on the façade and wrote the slogan ‘Free Gaza.’ (photo) The attack caused property damage amounting to €70,000. The façade had to be cleaned at great expense. The CDU called it an ‘attack on our democracy.’

One of the perpetrators was eventually tracked down: 25-year-old Mohammad K., a native of Syria, was fined 2,000 euros by the Hanover District Court earlier this month. He partially confessed to the crime and described it as an ‘act of desperation.’ So far, so normal – at least for now. But now it has come to light that this same K. had received an award from the Lower Saxony state government in November 2022.

And not just any award. ‘Mr K. was portrayed as an example of successful integration due to his commitment to political education at the time,’ a government spokesperson told the Hannoversche Allgemeine newspaper. To this end, K. had submitted a video documenting his ‘personal success story’.

The action alliance ‘Niedersachsen packt an’ (Lower Saxony gets things done), which is represented by the state government, described his story in a press release at the time as ‘particularly touching and remarkable’. K., who was involved in the association ‘Politik zum Anfassen’ (Hands-on Politics), brings young people closer to ‘how participation in political processes works’. The text was enthusiastically headlined: ‘Show how integration works!’

There was no prize money. Instead, none other than the then Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) was present. Weil acted as the organiser of the competition. And he made the guest house of the Lower Saxony state government available for the award ceremony.

The Hanover branch of the German-Israeli Society (DIG) expressed its horror on Sunday and demanded that the prize be revoked. In a comprehensive press release, the DIG made a series of accusations against K. that go far beyond the attack on the Lower Saxony state parliament. Among other things, he is said to be a co-organiser of ‘Intifada Hannover,’ whose events ‘regularly call for the destruction of the State of Israel.’

‘K. repeatedly attracts attention there with loud insults and threatening gestures towards counter-demonstrators,’ the statement said. On August 23, 2025, for example, he threatened a female demonstrator with the words: ‘We’ll get you too!’ In fact, according to reports, K. is known to the police for his demonstration activities.

The Lower Saxony state government is now noticeably embarrassed by the matter. A clear distancing is ‘a matter of course and more than appropriate,’ a spokesperson for the state chancellery admitted to the Evangelical Press Service. He added that, based on current information, the award would no longer be presented to the Syrian. However, it is not possible to formally withdraw the award.

Instead, the ‘Bündnis Niedersachsen’ (Lower Saxony Alliance) has removed K.’s name from the press release announcing the award. A photo showing K. standing next to the smiling Minister President with a bouquet of flowers in his hand has also been removed. Meanwhile, the association ‘Menschen helfen Menschen’ (People Help People) in Nienburg still lists K. as a member of its board. The purpose of the association is ‘to promote tolerance in all areas of culture’.

Total capitulation regarding Muslim pupils: German federal state intends to abolish German as the language of instruction

AI generator

The centre-left state government of North Rhine-Westphalia is taking another step towards capitulation in the face of mass Muslim migration. In a joint motion in the state parliament, the CDU and the Greens want to introduce ‘multilingualism throughout the entire school career’. The promotion of multilingualism as a means of developing skills must be considered ‘an integral part of the educational path’ from primary school to secondary school, and multilingualism must be given greater consideration in the curriculum. North Rhine-Westphalia is already a state of diversity and active multilingualism. Around a third of the population has an immigration background, and according to the 2022 microcensus, one in two people speak at least one other language besides German at home.

In schools, too, around 44 per cent of pupils have an immigrant background. Teaching should therefore be adapted to the ‘realities of life and current needs’ of pupils and their families. In future, it should also be possible to assess subject-specific skills appropriately even if a child has insufficient knowledge of German. In addition, the upper school reform could provide an opportunity to offer and recognise classes in the first language or to open them up to pupils who are learning this language as a foreign language. Multilingualism must, of course, be promoted and developed in teacher training. Last week, the school committee commissioned an expert hearing on the subject.

Behind all this pompous verbiage lies nothing more than the abandonment of German as the language that everyone living in this country must master. Euphemistic phrases such as ‘international biography’ of the pupils mean nothing more than that German children are increasingly becoming a minority and that Muslim pupils in particular are neither willing nor able to learn the German language, especially since they see no reason to do so in view of demographic developments, when 80 per cent or more of a class do not speak German.
The much-vaunted multilingualism is not about a particularly large number of children speaking English, French or Spanish, but almost exclusively about Arabic and, at most, Turkish.

The state is capitulating to the masses of foreign-language migrants who are unwilling to integrate, millions of whom it imported itself. Germans are becoming a minority in their own country, and in schools this Babylonian confusion of languages is even to be celebrated as an asset and a virtue. What’s more, this means that German children are no longer learning their mother tongue properly, because it is now only a marginal phenomenon in the international multicultural paradise, even though the government of CDU Minister-President Hendrik Wüst is trying to gloss over this de facto surrender. Instead of working to ensure that all children speak the language of this country, everyone should be able to speak and write whatever they like, and schools should encourage this benevolently. In the end, no pupil will have a proper command of any language. Here, too, the system is adapting to the deficits of immigrants and cheating them, and above all German children, out of the most basic foundations of a successful life, for which language is the be-all and end-all. Once again, politicians are committing a flagrant sin against the future of this country, whose demise is being sealed at all levels.

German soccer team starts ‘internal process’ against player for post supporting Charlie Kirk

Screengrab youtube

The German soccer team Borussia Dortmund (BVB) has started an “internal process” to look into a player after he expressed support for Charlie Kirk on social media.

According to German news outlets, BVB wants to “internally review” a social media post by its player Felix Nmecha and “seek a conversation with the professional.”

However, the club will not make any further public statements, and a penalty for the professional is reportedly not under consideration.

Nmecha faced backlash online from leftist BVB fans after he expressed his sympathy for Charlie Kirk and his family after the brutal assassination.

The professional athlete had expressed his shock at the murder of Kirk via an Instagram story. “Rest in peace with God. Such a sad day,” the 24-year-old midfielder wrote.

The post was later edited to now state: “May the Lord be with the Kirk family during this time with special grace. Jesus is the true path to peace and love.”

In another post, which has since been deleted, Nmecha wrote that Kirk had “peacefully stood up for his convictions and values.”

“Celebrating” an attack on a father and husband is “truly evil,” he wrote.

The soccer professional is known as a devout Christian who has faced criticism for liking Christian and conservative content on social media. He has been accused of sharing “homophobic” and “anti-LGBT” posts.

After the backlash, Nmecha followed up with another post explaining his motives: “My idea was to offer my condolences to the grieving family and send the message that hatred and violence are never the answer.”

Having different political views and opinions is absolutely okay, he said. “I also disagree with many things Charlie Kirk stood for. But let’s remember that a man was murdered in front of his wife and two young children. I believe that expressing sympathy is human and should not be condemned,” he wrote.

According to a report from the German newspaper Bild, Nmecha’s contract contains a clause stipulating a penalty if he posts anything online that contradicts the club’s values.

Starmer is Right: Britain IS an Island of Strangers

What is a nation? It is a people united by descent, culture, history and language, bound by loyalty to one another. In Britain, these foundations have been systematically dismantled. Immigration, refugee hotels, rape gangs, two-tier policing and the demonisation of the indigenous majority reveal a fanatical desire to elevate the foreign over the native. Britain has become an island of strangers.

Former Health Minister is Second Defection to Farage’s Reform in Two Days

Another defection of an experienced insider to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK Party has been revealed a day after it launched a ‘department for preparing for government’ and called on those who know the state from the inside to come forward and help it make ready for power.

Maria Caulfield, a former health minister under the last Conservative Government between 2022 and 2024 has renounced her erstwhile party and joined Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, she said on Tuesday. The defection is the second announced in two days, and came after Danny Kruger, a senior Tory and present Member of Parliament crossed the floor to join Farage’s faction.

Critically, the move of such a considerable figure as Kruger was predicted to be a potential opening of the floodgates, signalling to other politicians that it is now socially and politically acceptable, and that the time has come, to jump ship. Caulfield joined Reform a month ago, she said, but only went public this morning.

Caulfield left Parliament in 2024 and returned to her previous profession of nursing. She is a specialist cancer research nurse and has previously been knighted by the King for “political and public service”. In recent days she shared a tribute to assassinated political activist Charlie Kirk, stating “Devastating news about [Charlie Kirk,] shot dead by those who disagreed with his views. Charlie was an inspiration and paid the ultimate price for it”, and “I pray for Charlie . I am sure he is with God tonight… Let us all be brave enough to be more like Charlie in our faith”.

Breitbart News previously reported on Caulfield when she defended schoolgirls in her previous constituency who turned up to school wearing skirts as normal, rather than in trousers as a new gender-neutral uniform code proscribed as part of a culture war over transgender issues. In 2024, Caulfield went on record to celebrate the landmark decision by NHS England to ban puberty blockers being given to children.

Caulfield told the GB News broadcaster today that “the future is Reform” and compared naysayers on the party from the right now to those who didn’t believe the pro-Brexit faction would win the historic 2016 referendum. “They are in for a shock”, she predicted.

Decrying the failure to take advantage of Brexit by the Conservatives, Caulfield said: “We let people down over what Brexit meant on laws, money and borders. We took back control but we did not do anything about it… Reform is about changing the system.”

Farage’s Reform UK party has now led every single opinion poll in the United Kingdom for over 100 polls in a row, he said on Monday, highlighting the chance he has of being the largest party in Parliament after the next government. Yet as he has emphasised, Reform’s strength in being a new movement in British politics bringing in many people with no political experience also brings a potential weakness that it lacks the decades of insider-knowledge for when the time to form a government actually comes.

To some extent, this coming to Westminster with fresh eyes may heap on even more advantage: evidently the legacy parties, which are well integrated into the deep government of the Civil Service and law system have long utterly failed to achieve change even when they want to. Yet Farage recognises getting insider knowledge and advice from the experienced is important, and on Monday launched his department for preparing for government, led by defecting Tory Danny Kruger.

Farage said Kruger’s mission would be to “find talent, find people with experience… and help us get ready for what will be a monumental task”.

Kruger, Tory insiders say, was considered one of the deep thinkers of the party and had held “big strategic roles”. On Monday, explaining his mission, Kruger said:

It’s going to be difficult because we are planning change on a scale the system has not seen since the modern civil service was created in the 19th century. This work will be hard and it will be opposed by the system, and that’s why we need to be radical. Taking on the vested interests and the incumbents who always defend the status quo.

Reform UK is a radical force but not a revolutionary one. Our mission is not just to overthrow the current system, but it is to restore the system we need. Limited government, accountable power, a strong society, a state that works in the interest of the people. Radical restoration, that is the reform the country needs… I think we’re going to encounter serious opposition, and part of the purpose of today and the work we’re going to be doing quite publicly in the years and months to come is to be signalling very clearly to the system what is coming, and we want to do that in a civil, constructive way.

We don’t want to pick fights where we don’t need to but it’s essential that the Whitehall Machine understands that if we win there will be change… I think there will be opposition but I am determined we do this in a way that’s constructive… but there are people, quiet people [in the Civil Service], often not in the most senior ranks, who recognise how broken the system is and who will want to help us. So I think it is very important that we signal to those people that we’re not out to get everybody and we want to work constructively with those parts of the machine that recognise that a system designed in the 19th century is no longer remotely fit for purpose.

Help, Wokeism is Back on Stage at the Gaîté Lyrique!

La Gaîté Lyrique, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons)

Some of our readers may have been touched by the tragic fate of the Gaîté Lyrique, the iconic Parisian theatre that was stormed by migrants nine months ago and forced to close its doors. The left-wing Paris City Council found itself caught between two of its favourite constituencies: defenders of artists, who had been left unemployed by the occupation and deterioration of the premises, and defenders of migrants. After months of legal and political battles, the migrants were finally evicted, and the venue returned to its original purpose. Given the announced programme, it is not clear whether this is good news.

In December 2024, 400 illegal immigrants claiming residence permits settled within the walls of the Gaîté Lyrique theatre, one of the most famous institutions on the Parisian scene. Initially, the theatre’s management supported the squatters before being overwhelmed by the movement.

The migrants’ occupation, which lasted several months, brought disaster for the cultural institution: a string of cancelled performances, resulting in considerable losses in revenue, followed by physical damage to the building—not to mention the damage to its image. In March, the police finally decided, on the orders of the Paris police headquarters, to evict the offenders. The cost of this period of unrest is now estimated at €3 million.

The theatre’s management, full of left-wing humanism, was counting on the City of Paris, its ideological ally, to foot the bill. Unfortunately, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has a generous heart but empty pockets. She enthusiastically supports the cause of culture and that of migrants but has announced that she does not have a penny to give to La Gaîté Lyrique. This was undoubtedly a difficult pill to swallow. “The City of Paris has done an about-face and refused to participate in the economic recovery of the establishment. This is an incomprehensible decision in view of the commitments made, the cultural influence of La Gaîté Lyrique and the immediate social consequences on the preservation of more than 80 jobs,” lamented the theatre’s management in a press release.

After the storm, it was necessary to get back to work very quickly in order to generate revenue as soon as possible and reconnect with the public. On Thursday, September 11th, La Gaîté Lyrique reopened its doors. And guess what the first events back in the prestigious venue will focus on? “The experience of migration across generations.” It seems that the dose administered in recent months was not strong enough to produce a lasting vaccine effect. The Gaîté Lyrique was brought down by the madness of migration ideology, but that was clearly not enough: now it’s back for more.

For Elia, manager of the Gaîté bistro, a stone’s throw from the theatre, whose clientele was traditionally made up of theatregoers, this is “pure provocation.” She, too, has paid dearly for the Gaîté’s siege. Customers fled, and she had to deal with physical threats from migrants who came to sit on her café terrace. And now she sees the hell she had to live through for several months being brought to the stage.

But that’s not all. The theatre’s upcoming events are now known, and they are all of the same ilk. On September 13th, a “feminist and anti-racist” literary festival was held, “highlighting racialised and committed authors who are rarely seen, and shifting the focus away from the dominant discourse in a context of editorial concentration and the rise of the far Right.” On September 27th, with “Contes à Paillettes” (Glitter Tales), drag queens will read to children aged five and up “to host a crazy bingo game” with “readings of carefully selected stories to free the imagination from stereotypes and move beyond the figure of the princess to be rescued.”

As a lover of the history of Parisian entertainment, my heart is torn. Can we wish for the definitive demise of this beautiful theatre, which lent its walls to Offenbach and Diaghilev? But can we rejoice in seeing these noble walls once again put at the service of an ideology whose sole aim is to destroy everything we hold dear? We can only hope that bankruptcy will finally punish the “bingos” who occupy them, and that they will give way to other, more inspired artists.

Unfortunately, we learn on the Gaîté Lyrique website that this enticing programme is self-financed through crowdfunding. For once, there is no public money involved, but this means that there are diehards who are determined to keep the nightmare going at all costs. The battle will be tough: the world of culture is a small boat that the Left has no intention of letting fall into hands other than its own.

German AfD group with banned candidate visits White House

A delegation of the right-wing Alternative for Germany party (AfD) met with representatives of the US Government in Washington DC.

The gathering yesterday was reported by German news portal Nius, whose editor Ralf Schuler accompanied the right-wingers on their trip to the White House.

The delegation included deputy party leader Beatrix von Storch and Joachim Paul, the AfD’s candidate for mayor in the industrial city of Ludwigshafen. Paul made headlines in August after a commission of his political rivals banned him from the mayoral election on September 21, claiming he “lacked constitutional loyalty”.

“We met with representatives of the White House Domestic Policy Council, the State Department, the Vice President’s Office and the National Security Council”, von Storch told Nius after the visit.

She added that this direct contact with the US administration – bypassing all official institutions of the German Government – might be the start of an independent “foreign policy” for the AfD.

The invitation came after Paul’s case was brought to the attention of the Trump administration by prominent journalist Michael Shellenberger.

On September 9, at a White House press briefing, Shellenberger asked whether US President Donald Trump was considering additional measures against Europe in light of “efforts to basically just prevent candidates from being able to compete in election”, explicitly mentioning Joachim Paul.

“Joachim Paul, this mayoral candidate in Germany, the criminal indictment against him, cites him saying that he loves the Lord of the Rings as reason why he’s — he’s an extremist and shouldn’t be able to run.

“So, I just wonder if you could speak to that?” Shellenberger asked White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Leavitt answered: “Freedom of speech is arguably the most important issue of our time. It is enshrined in our Constitution and the President believes in it strongly.

“He himself faced censorship in his road back to this beautiful Oval Office here in Washington, DC. So he takes this very seriously, as does, I know, the Vice President of the United States and the entire Trump administration.”

Paul has tried to fight his disqualification from the mayoral race in the courts.

The Administrative Court in Neustadt an der Weinstraße (Rhineland-Palatinate), though, upheld the decision of the Ludwigshafen election commission on August 18. So did the Higher Administrative Court in Koblenz on August 25.

Paul has now launched a suit at the German Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe, claiming his ban from the election violates Germany’s Constitution.

He has also brought a similar suit before the Constitutional Court of Rhineland-Palatinate. Whether either court will decide before the election on September 21 is not known.

The academic puppeteers are more dangerous than the puppet who killed Kirk

Charlie Kirk. Wikimedia Commons Gage Skidmore CC-BY-SA-2.0
We no longer fight ideas: we want to destroy those who hold them. Tyler is the puppet behind which stand the most lethal puppeteers: the university professors, the network of “progressive intellectuals,” the wicked teachers who turned Robinson into a killer.

by Giulio Meotti

He asked simple and rational questions. And in an era as crazy as ours, reason mixed with calm always gets on people’s nerves.

A few months ago, a video circulated of the debate between Charlie Kirk and the students of the Cambridge Union. On one side Kirk, on the other an eccentric English boy with improbable red hair.

“Tell me one thing,” Kirk asked: “Between Israel and Hamas, who’s the good guy?”

The “moral truth,” Kirk told him, is that “there’s a good guy and a bad guy.” “That’s the morality of a child,” the student shouted amid applause.

Then Kirk fired back with another simple line: “A child who knows Israel is the good guy and Hamas is the bad guy has far more wisdom than a student like you at Cambridge University.”

That’s why they killed him. Because Kirk was right.

In the sewers of the streets, the Internet, and the media—the tenth circle of Dante’s hell—they now celebrate the brutal murder of this father of two.

Blood has become an answer, murder a liturgy, the innocent a scapegoat.

The mainstream left and the “liberal” press played it safe, merely insinuating that Kirk was “far-right”, just as one blames the girl in a miniskirt who is raped.

Meanwhile, celebrations erupt in the streets of America: “We got Charlie in the neck, we got Charlie in the neck.”

In America even schoolteachers cheer Kirk’s killing.

This ordinary American boy who killed Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, is the least dangerous of the gang. He’s merely the murderous puppet behind which stand the most lethal puppeteers: the university professors, the network of “progressive intellectuals,” the wicked teachers who turned Robinson into a killer.

We are entering a tragic era. The West, which believed it had banished its demons, now discovers itself hateful in its own eyes. And what a prophecy: a future where we no longer kill individuals but symbols, where we rewrite history through blood in the streets.

These American tragedies are not isolated episodes. They trace a downward, deadly spiral. It’s not the culture war itself that kills, but the political violence born of the dehumanization of opponents by a self-proclaimed “camp of the good.” We no longer fight ideas: we want to destroy those who hold them.

What happened to Kirk is not a simple murder. It is an execution. A precise, planned execution. It recalls the car bombs used by the Italian mafia to blow up their enemies.

Civil war is now rooted in the minds of leftist ideologues.

Had the victim been from the opposite political and cultural side, our media and politicians would be in the streets shouting about “fascism”. Since an anti-fascist killed Kirk, they now say that the killer is a Republican.

Pure George Orwell in action.

The European Parliament, which didn’t hesitate to hold a minute of silence for George Floyd, denied it to Charlie Kirk. It was within its rights—but then so is refusing to kneel for a drug dealer killed by a cop.

If this is what they are willing to do—plant a bullet in a private citizen’s throat because he had the “wrong” ideas—we must refuse to give up even the smallest inch of cultural ground. And to those who still doubt, only one exhortation: fight fight fight!
