
According to BFMTV, confirmed by Ouest-France, a rabbi visiting Deauville (Calvados) was attacked on Friday May 30 at around 3.30pm on Avenue de la République. Three people, who ‘appeared to be drunk’, isolated him and punched him in the stomach because he was wearing a kippah. The attack took place in broad daylight. The slightly injured victim stated that the attackers had spoken in an unidentified foreign language. A report has been filed and the suspects are being searched for by the police.
According to the mayor, the rabbi’s attacker is a Palestinian holding a German passport.
