Schoolgirl Sara (16) from Innsbruck has been missing since August 2022. The police believe that the girl was forced into a marriage under Islamic law. The mother has since received information about an alleged “Sharia cellar” in Berlin. Sara is said to have been forced into prostitution there.
The police in Tyrol are now following up information provided by Sara’s mother, Yasmin S.. She had come across a young woman via TikTok who was said to know Sara. Both were allegedly members of a WhatsApp group where young girls receive information on how to get to Berlin. Men who claim to be part of the group around the “Sharia basement” are also posting on social networks. The Innsbruck criminal investigation department, which is in contact with the German police, confirms that “tips are coming in all the time”. The police are not yet in a position to judge whether these tips are serious.
Sara began to radicalise at the age of 14
The “Sharia cellar” is said to consist of several rooms that are allegedly run by a sect in the German capital. They are said to have been rented by radical Islamists to force young women into prostitution. There is no official confirmation of this, but Sara’s mother is certain that her daughter is in Berlin.
The missing schoolgirl from Tyrol began to radicalise at the age of 14. The teenager developed into a strict Muslim, who from then on veiled herself with a niqab and dreamed of marrying according to Islamic custom. She is said to have left Austria on August 22,2022 with an older man she had met online. Since then, there has been no trace of Sara and her mother has never heard from her daughter again.
