
The victim of a horrific knife attack in north Belfast is said to be in critical condition.
The man was taken to hospital after being attacked in the Kinnaird Avenue area of north Belfast at around 10.30pm on Monday.
Shocking footage of the attack has been widely circulated on social media.

Just after 10:30pm last night on Kinnaird Avenue, North Belfast, a man was slashed and stabbed in a frenzied attack, with the suspect on top of him on the ground repeatedly hacking at his head andâŚ
It shows the victim appearing to be stabbed in the neck by a man armed with a knife who is sitting on top of him.
Bystanders can be heard telling the attacker to âget offâ the victim, who appears to be covered in blood.
Another man then appears with a hurling stick and strikes the attacker several times in a desperate attempt to free the victim before police arrive.
Local independent councillor Paul McCusker described the attack as âbrutalâ.
âPeople are waking up and have seen this video, and itâs horrific and terrifying scenes that we witnessed,â he told The Irish News.
âAnd for me itâs about making sure the police do a very robust investigation in terms of how this attack took place.â
DUP leader Gavin Robinson described the attack as a âshocking and brutal act of violenceâ.
âThe police should outline the facts as a matter of urgency,â he said on social media.
âThose responsible must face the full consequences of their actions.
âThere can be absolutely no tolerance for such barbaric violence on our streets.â
