Latest poll in the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt: AfD at 47 per cent! CDU in single figures at just 8 per cent

If an election were to be held in Saxony-Anhalt next Sunday, the AfD could achieve a record result of around 47 per cent. This is according to the latest poll by Prognos.

The people of Saxony-Anhalt continue to support the AfD. In the latest Prognos poll, the AfD achieved a record result of 47 per cent. This makes the AfD THE people’s party in the state compared to the other parties. Not even the CSU in Bavaria can boast such figures.

The BSW would once again clear the five per cent threshold. Should the BSW and the AfD enter into a tacit alliance, this would secure an absolute majority in the state parliament in Magdeburg.

The Christian Democratic Union, by contrast, is in single figures. The left-wing bloc (the Greens, the SPD and The Left) would together account for 34 per cent, which is still significantly weaker than the AfD on its own.

Here are the latest poll results from Prognos dated October 21, 2026:
