On Thursday June 23, 2022, a man jumped onto the tracks at Le Mans station (Sarthe). He shouted and threw stones before being overpowered by staff of the French railway company SNCF.
At around 9am, a man climbed onto the tracks. He shouted and threw stones at the passenger shelters.
He shouted “Allahu akbar”.
“We were standing on the platform,” reported Anne, who was about to catch her train to Rennes. “They stopped all the trains because there was a man running amok on the tracks. He took gravel in his hand and threw it violently against all the SNCF inventory, towards the platforms where there were many people, and towards the security staff. It still took a while for the police to intervene”.
“He was dangerous,” adds this eyewitness. “He made a speech that we didn’t understand. He was shouting ‘Allahu akbar’.”(…) Actu.fr
