Former FC Barcelona defender and Spanish football legend Carles Puyol is one of the main speakers at the Fearless Congress 2026 , the largest masculinity congress in Latin America, which takes place from April 17 to 19 at the Sanctuary of the Mexican Martyrs in Guadalajara.
Puyol will speak today with a talk entitled “My Story: Struggle, Purpose and Victory,” at an event that seeks to combat the silent crisis of confused, empty men disconnected from their purpose, promoting a firm, humble, and faith-centered masculinity.
The congress, promoted by Andrés Villaseñor Urrea and the Fearless platform —linked to institutions of Regnum Christi and the Legionaries of Christ, such as the Semper Altius schools and the Anáhuac University Network—, is presented as a space to “recover virtuous masculinity as it was designed by God.”

Its organizers emphasize that male identity has been weakened by a culture that generates anxiety, addictions and suicides (in Mexico, a man commits suicide every hour and it is the second leading cause of death among young men).
The goal is to form responsible men, with courage, strength and determination to fight for what is just, beautiful and true, inspired by the perfect model of man: Jesus Christ.
The event also benefits a primary and secondary school that provides 100% scholarships to children in vulnerable situations.
Alongside Puyol, the lineup brings together top international figures: Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, actor and Catholic activist Eduardo Verástegui, psychologist Isabel Rojas Estapé, priest Patrick Gonyeau, YouTuber Álvaro Quesada, evangelical influencer Sarab Rey and others such as Christopher West, an expert in the Theology of the Body of Saint John Paul II.
The Sanctuary of the Martyrs, an emblematic site of the Catholic faith in Mexico, welcomes thousands of participants seeking to rediscover their identity as men, husbands, fathers, and leaders. Puyol is no ordinary guest.
Captain of FC Barcelona for a decade, he won three Champions League titles, six Spanish Leagues, Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with Spain. His career was a living example of iron discipline, quiet but decisive leadership, humility and total commitment to the team.
Far from aggressive stereotypes, he embodied a masculinity based on integrity, sacrifice, and service to the community. The congress’s official website describes him precisely this way: “Puyol not only won everything: he led with character when it mattered most. His participation reinforces the central message: authentic masculinity is not toxic, but virtuous and necessary for the family and society.
In a world where the left has imposed narratives that confuse roles, attack the natural authority of men, and promote a supposed “toxic masculinity” that only generates more emptiness, events like the Fearless Congress represent a clear and courageous response.
Puyol, Peterson, and Verástegui demonstrate that true masculine strength lies in commitment, responsibility, and faith in God, not in progressive ideological fads that weaken men and, with them, the family and the nation.
