It was unworthy of a constitutional state what took place at the rally of the citizens’ movement Pax Europa (BPE) in Leipzig on Saturday. Normally, such event venues are protected by the police to ward off assaults and attacks. It is bad enough that “in the best Germany we ever had” (Frank-Walter Steinmeier) police protection of a rally has to be described as “normal”. But it is even worse when those who should be protected are also attacked by police officers after they are attacked. This is what happened in Leipzig.
During the event, posters were damaged and the BPE team was pelted with eggs and bottles. The police ignored the antifa bottle-thrower and he was able to walk away leisurely and completely unmolested (see video).
While the German national anthem was being sung, the perpetrators of violence tried to enter the rally site and damage BPE posters. Security guards tried to stop them, but they were rejected by the police, as was PI-NEWS author Michael Stürzenberger. A long-bearded officer grabbed Stürzenberger by the collar and obviously patronised him. Irfan Peci, who wanted to help, was also rudely pushed away. A security guard was also brutally brought to the ground by several officers. One of the police officers was caught on camera shaking the hand of one of the left-wing extremists in a friendly manner.
Later, the assault continued in a side alley. There, the BPE team was virtually encircled by Muslims and Antifa like the prey of a pack of predators. The police are said to have been more concerned with preventing the attackers from resisting their attacks than with making it impossible for the perpetrators to attack.
The media, precisely the German public broadcaster mdr, naturally put a spin on the events to fit the left-wing narrative. The violent congestion of Muslims and Antifa is described as a “protest with whistles” and it is emphasised that no one was hit by the eggs thrown, which ultimately only means that the brainless are too stupid to throw them. There is no mention of the bottle smashed against the rally participants. Instead, the behaviour of the police in this case is extremely glossed over and described as “separating” the two camps. The mdr is also careful to make it read as if there had only been charges against Michael Stürzenberger or the BPE team.
In view of such incidents in Germany, it is very difficult to speak of a democratic constitutional state. In Leipzig, at any rate, individual police officers no longer even try to pretend that they are impartial and bound only by the law; there, they are openly on the side of Islam and the left-wing violent. No wonder Leipzig is considered the unofficial German antifa capital.
