Germany: Somali man stabs man to death because the latter had insulted Islam

He was known to the authorities, was considered dangerous and could not be integrated. He preferred to travel through Europe and sought asylum in several countries, including Austria. In August, the Somali killed a refugee in Germany in a religious frenzy. First diagnosis: “mentally ill”.

On August 19, the Somali Abi R. (22) attacked the Iraqi refugee Nayyef A. (32) apparently without reason. He chased his fleeing victim with a knife and ultimately killed the man in a pizzeria. Now the asylum seeker gives details about his motive: “He insulted my religion, he had to die”, said the alleged radical Muslim.

Nayyef’s sister Nadhifa (47) had to watch her brother bleed to death. She herself also suffered cuts to the head. No big surprise: a psychiatric expert has already diagnosed the perpetrator with schizophrenia.

Abdi R. came to Germany in 2016 as an unaccompanied minor refugee. There were problems with him from the beginning. The African was often aggressive, did not allow integration – social workers despaired. At some point he disappeared completely. According to the newspaper “Bild”, he travelled to Austria at that time, where he also applied for asylum.

When he returned to Germany, his problems were even worse. Psychotic phases and short hospital stays in psychiatric wards were the result. It is not known whether the Somali took medication because of his illness. He is said to have attracted attention in his environment because of his regular use of marijuana.

Only on Thursday, the next knife attack with a suspected Islamist background shocked people in Germany. In Ansbach (Bavaria), a man attacked passers-by with a knife for no reason, repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar”. He was finally shot dead by police officers. “An Islamist background is being investigated”, they say. The suspected perpetrator was a “man”. For tactical reasons, the police do not want to give more details.
