UK: Police accused of ‘turning blind eye’ as Sharia courts run rife and honour crimes go unpunished

Police have been accused of turning a blind eye to the spread of Sharia courts in Britain, as newly released Government figures show less than three per cent of so-called “honour crimes” were successfully prosecuted last year.

The data shows authorities are consistently failing to prosecute and prevent honour-based abuse, which can include offences such as female genital mutilation (FGM), homicide (honour killings) and forced marriage.

Campaigners are warning that the “privatisation of justice” within some Muslim communities through Sharia courts makes it harder for the state to intervene.

They say this has fostered a parallel justice system operating behind closed doors with no state oversight.

Nick Timothy MP, shadow justice secretary, told the Telegraph: “There can only be one rule of law – but the British state has turned a blind eye to Sharia courts spreading across our country.

“This is allowing so-called ‘honour’ crimes and abuse to go unpunished. While we know there is a huge problem, police officers and prosecutors are not doing their job and locking up these zealots.

“Forced marriage and FGM have no place in a modern society. It is time to crack down on this behaviour and hold the line against the Islamists who would destroy the British way of life”.

Last year, 2,949 honour-related offences were recorded in Britain, but only 95 defendants were prosecuted.

In 2023/24, 2,755 offences were registered, but there were only 80 corresponding prosecutions – In 2022/23, there were 3,008 recorded incidents, and just 68 successful prosecutions.

Between 2015 and 2024, the Metropolitan Police recorded more than 1,000 reports of female genital mutilation.

Some 109 cases of FGM were reported to police last year alone, while a further 111 were recorded in 2023/24 – almost double the 65 FGM cases reported to authorities in 2019/2020.

FGM has been illegal in England and Wales for nearly 40 years, however despite the number of reported cases, there have been only three criminal convictions in Britain – the first of which, relating to a three-year-old girl, was secured in 2019.

Meanwhile, some 766 forced marriages were reported to police between 2020 and 2025, but just 118 resulted in prosecution.

There were 125 reported cases in 2024/25, 201 in 2023/24, 173 in 2022/23 and 141 in 2021/2022.

The corresponding prosecution numbers were 30 in 2024/2025, 27 in 2023/24, 20 in 2022/2023, 33 in 2021/2022 and eight in 2020/2021.

There are believed to be as many as 85 Sharia councils operating in Britain.

These bodies – which are not bound by the Arbitration Act which guarantees some level of Governmental regulation – primarily manage family and marital affairs, including divorce and remarriage.

Previous investigations have found imams in Britain facilitating underage marriage and polygamy, as well as encouraging women to return to abusive husbands.

There have also been allegations of so-called “pleasure marriages”, for men who wish to have sex with women who are not their wives.

Rebecca Paul MP, a Conservative member of the Commons Women and Equalities Committee, said: “There is nothing at all ‘honourable’ about these crimes – they are attacks on women and girls who dare to make their own choices on what they wear, who they love and what they do in life.

“This is unacceptable in modern Britain.

“Close-knit clannish structures within isolated, unintegrated communities allow such violence to continue unreported and unchallenged.

“More tailored support for Muslim women facing domestic abuse is needed along with a more assertive approach to integration”.

New study exposes potential cancer risks from mRNA COVID shots

Wikimedia Commons, Whispyhistory, CC-BY-SA-4.0

A newly published peer-reviewed case report examines the relationship between COVID-19 mRNA vaccinations and increased cases of cancers — including highly aggressive cancers, and the unexpected recurrence of cancers after decades of remission — that have been independently noted by oncology experts and researchers worldwide.

Although anti-COVID mRNA “vaccines” are gene therapy products (GTP), during the pandemic they were marketed as “vaccines” in order to gain the trust and acceptance of the global public. The rise in concerns about the increase of cancer following the mRNA jabs was preceded by considerable evidence that the COVID-19 mRNA gene therapies routinely injured the heart, triggering a troubling spike in myocarditis in healthy teens.

Of particular concern are the lipid nanoparticles that serve to deliver the “vaccine,” which can circulate beyond the injection site and reach internal organs, including bone marrow.

The new report focuses on a 38-year-old healthy, athletic woman who began experiencing immune-related symptoms the day after receiving a second COVID-19 mRNA vaccine dose.

According to a summary of the study:

Within months, she was diagnosed with an aggressive blood cancer affecting early-stage lymphocytes. While she initially achieved complete remission through chemotherapy, she later experienced a central nervous system relapse and underwent a stem cell transplant. The sequence of events raises questions about whether the vaccine-induced immune response may have contributed to disease onset or progression.

“Emerging evidence suggests that the biodistribution and persistence of modRNA, facilitated by lipid nanoparticles, can affect various tissues and organs, including the bone marrow and other blood-forming organs. Notably, modRNA vaccines exhibit a particular affinity for the bone marrow,” wrote the study’s authors.

The researchers note that the rollout of the COVID-19 “vaccines” was associated with an increase of excess mortality worldwide. They note several studies:

  • “According to a recent study performed in Japan, the age-adjusted death rates for leukaemia, breast, pancreatic, and lip/oral/pharyngeal cancers increased significantly in 2022 after a large portion of the Japanese population had received the third dose of the modRNA vaccine, as compared to 2020, the first year of the pandemic, when no mass global genetic vaccinations were given.”
  • “A long-term population-wide cohort study in Pescara province (Italy), analysed nearly 300,000 residents over 30 months (June 2021 to December 2023) and investigated the relationship between COVID-19 vaccination and cancer hospitalizations. The study found that vaccination was associated with a 23% increased risk of cancer hospitalization after receiving one or more doses … Statistically significant increases in risk were observed for breast cancer (+54%), bladder cancer (+62%), and colorectal cancer (+35%) after at least one dose.”
  • “A large population-based retrospective cohort study from South Korea, involving over 8.4 million adults from 2021 to 2023, assessed the cancer risks within one year after COVID-19 vaccination. The study found that vaccinated individuals had a 27% higher overall risk of developing cancer compared to those unvaccinated. Significant increases were noted for lung, prostate, thyroid, gastric, colorectal, and breast cancers.”

“Given the expanding use of mRNA technology, thorough preclinical safety assessments, including integration studies, are urgently needed to ensure vaccine safety and public health,” the authors concluded, adding:

The carcinogenic risk associated with these technologies, which has long been known within the gene therapy field, represents an area of research that cannot be ignored, given the fundamental principle of medicine “primum non nocere” (first, do no harm).

Titled “Exploring the potential link between mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations and cancer: A case report with a review of haematopoietic malignancies with insights into pathogenic mechanisms,” its authors include Patrizia Gentilini, Janci C. Lindsay, Nafuko Konishi, Masanori Fukushima, and Panagis Polykretis.

Since the outset of the COVID pandemic, LifeSiteNews has authored thousands of reports warning about the dangers of the untested, experimental mRNA COVID-19 “vaccines.”

Not anti-Israel enough: Radical leftists plan demonstration against German Buchenwald concentration camp memorial

Disgusting left-wing campaign (Image: Screenshot)

The difference between left-wing radicals and neo-Nazis is only marginal: left-wing radical groups, including the student section of the Left Party, the anti-Zionist ‘Jewish Voice’ and the German Communist Party (DKP), are calling for a protest against the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial. Their perverse accusation: it is not anti-Israel enough. They also claim that pro-Palestinian activists are being criminalised!
According to a report in the Bild newspaper, radical left-wing groups are planning a demonstration against the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial, to take place around April 11 – the anniversary of the camp’s liberation in 1945. Under the slogan ‘Kufiyas in Buchenwald,’ the student organisation of the Left Party, the anti-Zionist group ‘Jewish Voice’ and the German Communist Party (DKP) are organising protests and lectures.

The trigger is a dispute over the wearing of Palestinian headscarves (kufiyas) on the premises. Last April, a woman was denied entry because she was wearing the scarf to demonstrate against Israel. A court upheld the ban. The Pali and Hamas supporter is a member of a communist organisation that praised the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023 as a ‘legitimate uprising’ and declared: ‘We can only admire this uprising; it is completely legitimate, as are all its means.’

The repugnant organisers accuse the memorial of having become a place of ‘historical revisionism and genocide denial.’ They criticise the management for not being anti-Israeli enough and for criminalising pro-Palestinian activists while allegedly spreading ‘Israeli propaganda.’

These intentions have been met with strong criticism. A spokesperson for the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation expressed concern that the commemoration ceremony would be ‘inappropriately exploited.’ The Federal Commissioner for Anti-Semitism, Felix Klein, called the planned demonstration a ‘new low in the all too frequent reversal of perpetrator and victim’ and condemned it as a ‘frontal attack on the dignity of the memory of the victims of the Shoah’.

The Buchenwald concentration camp near Weimar existed from 1937 to 1945. Over 56,000 people, including many Jews, homosexuals and political prisoners, were murdered there by the Nazis. The planned left-wing protest links Holocaust remembrance to the Middle East conflict, which many find distasteful and disrespectful, to say the least. Others consider it simply perverse.

The comments section reads:

‘Leftists are just completely mentally and morally degenerate. At some point, even the last person has to realise that…?! 🤷‍♀️’

Thousands Protest Against ‘Antifa Murderers’ in France Following Killing of Conservative Student

The portrait of Quentin Deranque, which has been hanging on the façade of the Hôtel de Région in Lyon since this morning. Fdesouche

Thousands of people took to the streets Lyon in France on Saturday to protest against the alleged Antifa mob killing of a conservative Catholic student earlier this month.

Seven people have so far been charged over the killing of 23-year-old conservative student Quentin Deranque, who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being beaten by multiple people on the sidelines of a protest against MEP Rima Hassan of the far-left La France Insoumise (LFI) party at the Sciences Po university in Lyon.

According to the local Le Progrès newspaper, most of the suspects “are known to be either members of, or close to” the Young Guard Antifa cell in Lyon founded by LFI MP Raphaël Arnault in 2018. Among those charged are Jacques-Elie Favrot, a parliamentary assistant to Arnault, and Adrian Besseyre, who also previously worked for the far-left lawmaker.

The killing has sparked national outrage and broad condemnation of the far-left in France. On Saturday, a demonstration, “Justice for Quentin”, was held in Lyon. According to the local government, at least 3,200 people joined the protest.

This comes despite National Rally leader Jordan Bardella advising his party to refrain from joining any demonstrations. Protests were also held in Rennes, Brest, Saint-Brieuc, and Châteauroux on Saturday.

Those present in Lyon were heard chanting “LFI complicit, Antifa murderers” and “Young Guard in prison, free the city of Lyon.” Some were seen carrying a banner reading “The far left kills.”

Members of the local branch of Collectif Némésis, an anti-migration identitarian feminist group whom Quentin was providing protection for at the time of his attack, joined the march. One told Le Figaro that they came to “pay tribute to Quentin because he protected us; it’s important for us to come and express our gratitude and our sadness.”

Another participant told the paper said that she came to the demonstration to “show Quentin’s family that we support them: what they are going through is horrible, no one should die for their beliefs in France.”

When asked if she was concerned with marching alongside so-called far-right groups, she said: “I don’t know what ‘far right’ means. It’s a label they just throw at us, but the people on the other side are ignorant. They call us fascists when they don’t even know what it really means!”

The protest came despite calls from the Green Party mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet, to cancel the march over the “arrival of individuals likely to commit violence” into the city. The leftist politician complained that he did not want “Lyon to be the capital of the far-right.”

Despite the supposed concerns from the Green mayor, the demonstration concluded largely without incident, even with some Antifa-supporting counter demonstrators heckling the march. At the end of the protest, activists unfurled a banner reading “farewell comrade” and sang a rendition of La Marseillaise, the national anthem of France.

UK Puberty Blocker Trial Halted Over Safety Fears

Protesters in Westminster, London demonstrate against the Pathways clinical trial on December 17, 2025.
All photos by Nick Hallett / europeanconservative.com

A controversial NHS-backed trial giving puberty blockers to children as young as eight has been dramatically halted after Britain’s medicines watchdog intervened over safety fears.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has pressed pause on the Pathways study, warning of potentially “significant” and unquantified long-term harms. Officials are now demanding urgent talks with trial leaders at King’s College London, including whether the minimum age for participants should be raised to 14.

The study, funded by the NHS and due to begin in April, was set to involve 226 children who believe they are transgender. It has already sparked outrage after it emerged that participants could receive up to £500 in Love2Shop vouchers for completing psychometric tests.

In a stark letter, the regulator warned that puberty blockers—particularly if followed by cross-sex hormones—are “very likely” to leave children infertile. It also raised concerns about the risk of persistent bone structural changes if the drugs are used for more than a year, possible impacts on brain development, and whether very young children could cope with side effects such as vaginal bleeding.

The Department of Health and Social Care confirmed that “preparations for the trial have been paused” while regulators and clinical leaders examine the new concerns. Health Secretary Wes Streeting has previously admitted he “wrestles” with the decision and is “not comfortable” with the trial going ahead. He also acknowledged in Parliament that children cannot legally consent, instead providing “informed assent” alongside parental approval.

Puberty blockers were permanently banned for routine use in 2024 following the Cass Review, which found the evidence supporting their use in gender-distressed children to be “remarkably weak” but called for controlled research.

Critics say the trial should now be scrapped entirely. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage branded it “state-sponsored child abuse,” while campaigners have staged protests demanding ministers pull the plug for good.

UK: Afghan accused of murdering dog walker ‘may never be fit to stand trial’

Dawood, who entered the UK in 2020 and was granted asylum in 2022, was tasered and arrested at the scene. Screengrab youtube

An Afghan migrant accused of murdering a dog walker “may never be fit to stand trial”.

Safi Dawood, 22, is accused of murdering Wayne Broadhurst, a council worker, who was out walking his dog at the time of the attack.

Mr Dawood is also accused of attacking his landlord, Shahzad Farrukh, 45, and a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The Afghan national had been told he had days to leave the annex at Mr Farrukh’s home when he allegedly committed the attack last year.

Emergency services were initially called to Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge, west London, on October 27 last year, to reports of a triple stabbing.

The 22-year-old was consequently charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Mr Dawood appeared via video link from Broadmoor, a high-security psychiatric hospital in Berkshire, for the 15-minute hearing at Southwark Crown Court on Friday morning.

Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC told the court that Dawood had been assessed by a psychiatrist who concluded he “is not fit to plead or stand trial” in his current state, the Daily Mail revealed.

She said: “The psychiatrist has not in his served report indicated any time frame as to how long the defendant may remain unfit for, if he’s likely to recover, and matters of that nature.

“So it is not known whether the defendant will at some stage become fit for trial.”

The Afghan spoke to confirm his name with the aid of a translator, while a family member watched via video link.

He was not asked to enter any plea deals.

The case was adjourned until the next hearing on April 10.

It was previously heard in court that Mr Broadhurst was stabbed approximately 14 times.

Mr Farrukh, a business consultant, also suffered severe injuries in the attack, which are reported to be life-changing.

However, no update was given on his condition in today’s hearing.

Mr Dawood is also charged with attempting to murder a teenage boy who has since been discharged from hospital.

A provisional trial date has been set for July – and could last up to three weeks.

The Home Office confirmed that the 22-year-old Afghan arrived in the UK in the back of a lorry in 2020.

He was granted asylum and leave to remain two years later.

Emergency services tended to Mr Broadhurst, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Broadhurst and Mr Dawood were not known to one another, the Metropolitan Police said shortly after the attack.

Police also released a statement from Mr Broadhurst’s next-of-kin shortly after his death, which outlined how he “was a devoted and hardworking man who spent his life serving his community as a waste services worker”.

“He worked hard his whole life, never shying away from improving his community,” they said.

“His love for animals showed the gentle heart behind his strong work ethic, and his passion for Liverpool FC was something he loved to share with others.”

Mr Broadhurst worked for Greener Ealing, which provides sustainable waste disposal and grounds maintenance services to Ealing Council.

Syria asks Germany not to deport its citizens back home, warning it would make country ‘unsafe’

AI generator

Syria has formally asked Germany for patience over the deportation of Syrian nationals, warning that the return of thousands could lead to insecurity in the country and worsen the country’s fragile humanitarian situation.

As reported by Welt, Mohammed Yaqub al-Omar, director of the consular department at the Syrian Foreign Ministry, urged Germany “to understand the Syrian refugees and give us more time for reconstruction.” He warned that “the return of thousands of Syrians to Syria at this time could exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and mean that many people will have to live in refugee camps.”

According to al-Omar, 1.5 million people are currently living in tent camps in northern Syria alone due to destroyed homes, schools, roads, and a lack of electricity. Large-scale deportations from Germany, he suggested, would place further strain on already overstretched infrastructure.

Politicians from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), argue that legal protection grounds no longer apply, but members of the co-governing left-wing Social Democrats (SPD) were more amenable to Damascus’ request.

“Residence rights are not determined by the wishes of the countries of origin, but by whether a claim to protection exists. This claim, however, ceased to exist after the fall of the Assad regime,” Alexander Throm, domestic policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, told Focus magazine. He added that returns to safe areas of Syria are possible, asking, “Who, if not Syrians, should rebuild the country after the civil war?”

Marion Gentges, Justice and Migration Minister in Baden-Württemberg from the CDU, warned against delaying deportations because of the current debate. “We have an interest in ensuring that serious criminals and dangerous individuals leave our country. Therefore, such deportations, including those to Syria, must be carried out consistently,” she said.

The topic of Syrian deportations could lead to friction within the federal coalition, however, with SPD lawmakers suggesting that Damascus’ request for more time was reasonable.

“Syria still needs time to create structures that allow for returns,” said Serdar Yüksel, SPD chairman of the German-Turkish Parliamentary Group. In many areas, he reported, there are “no schools, no hospitals, no running water, no sewage system.” In some places, there is “virtually no reconstruction” taking place, he added, without responding to the suggestion that perhaps Syrians themselves should be leading the reconstruction.

The issue is already partially addressed in the coalition agreement between the CDU/CSU and SPD, which provides for the resumption of deportations to Syria, beginning with criminals and individuals considered threats to public safety. However, a broader deportation policy back to the country has not been agreed upon.

Alice Weidel, co-leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), slammed the request by the Syrian government, and suggested that a remigration policy for Syrians would already be in full force were her party in office.

She wrote on X, “Syria is demanding that Germany not send back criminal Syrians – and the German government is complying. With the AfD in government, the deportation offensive would begin immediately – and the safety of its own citizens would be prioritized!”

Her party added in a separate post, “Syria refuses to take back Syrians – so the country doesn’t become ‘unsafe.’ Criminal Syrians are supposed to stay in Germany – and the German government is complying. Instead: launch a deportation offensive, send Syrians back to Syria!”

Voluntary deportation programs were launched in some German states last year, but resulted in extremely poor conversion rates. Despite financial incentives being offered at German taxpayers’ expense, just a fraction of those offered assistance to return home took up the offer.

German state broadcaster recalls US correspondent over AI clip of ICE arrest

German state broadcaster ZDF has called back its US correspondent in New York, blaming her for an incident in which an AI-generated clip was aired in the company’s main news programme heute journal.

“Our review concludes that the violations of ZDF guidelines and journalistic standards are so serious that New York foreign correspondent Nicola Albrecht will be dismissed with immediate effect”, the TV behemoth announced today.

ZDF editor-in-chief Bettina Schausten said: “The damage caused by ignoring journalistic rules is serious.”

She added that the broadcaster would elaborate a catalogue of measures to insure that journalistic standards would be respected in the future.

On February 15, ZDF had aired a news segment on the practises of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE), blaming the agency among other things for “taking parents away in front of their children’s eyes”.

The segment was illustrated with a short clip depicting dramatic detention scenes.

It later emerged that the clip had been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically using the generative video platform Sora by AI company OpenAI. The video even bore the Sora watermark.

Another video shown in the segment turned out do be four years old and was shown in a misleading context.

The state broadcaster subsequently promised to review the affair.

Now ZDF admits to serious breaches of journalistic standards: “The AI-generated material should not have been used without journalistic justification and without classification in accordance with ZDF’s internal rules on the use of AI-generated material,” it said.

“A review of the other video scene and its origin, as required by journalistic standards, was not carried out. The final editors of the heute journal should have noticed the AI-generated image sequence when approving the report.”

Fifty-year-old Albrecht has been working for ZDF since 2001. She worked as a correspondent in Afghanistan, Peking and Tel Aviv before becoming the company’s New York correspondent in January 2025.

It was not clear whether she would continue to work for ZDF.

Brussels Signal reached out to ZDF but had not heard back at the time of writing.

The AI affair is not the first time the state broadcaster has been accused of dubious practices.

In October 2025, it was revealed ZDF had collaborated with Hamas members in its reporting on the war in Gaza.

In May 2025, the broadcaster’s house comedian came under fire for leaking the identity of a prominent anonymous YouTuber on air.

Australian prime minister praises public schools for suppressing ‘far right’ ideology

It’s long past time that we should start calling public schools what they really are: government-run indoctrination mills.

During a revealing moment at a press conference this week, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised public schools in his country for preventing “the rise” of “far-right ideological positions.”

“I always love going to public schools,” he said. “Kids don’t see race, religion, gender, anything else. They just see other kids … hatred and division is something that’s learned. And so public schooling is so important.”

Albanese’s comments are utter nonsense. What he is basically saying is that adults should act like children and that society should not have laws based in reality.

Implicit in the Prime Minister’s remarks is that thinking men are men, women are women, and that marriage is between one man and one woman is hateful and divisive. What his comments also suggest is that it is “far right” to think that countries should take into account racial, ethnic, and cultural differences when crafting immigration policy.

Anyone who has read Aristotle’s Politics or Plato’s The Republic can see how Albanese is seeking to replace the Christian principles that buttressed Western Civilization for centuries. Marco Rubio alluded to this recently in a speech in Europe.

“We are part of one civilization – Western Civilization,” he told leaders in Munich. “We are bound to one another by the deepest bonds that nations could share, forged by centuries of shared history, Christian faith, culture, heritage, language, ancestry, and the sacrifices our forefathers made together for the common civilization to which we have fallen heir.”

The great statesmen of the Middle Ages understood Rubio’s argument well. They knew that nations are corporate persons that not only have a debt to God but are obligated to protect their members’ traditions, values, customs, and heritage.

Like Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who rebuked Rubio for promoting “Christian nationalism” while speaking to reporters this week, Albanese would have all this done away with in the name of “diversity, inclusion, and equity,” the un-holy trinity of Albanese’s woke religion.

The goal of educational institutions in the country Albanese wants to bring to fruition is not the spiritual or intellectual improvement of students as children of God but programming them in order to make them hate their own “privilege” and to have them think it is shameful to want a country that takes pride in protecting Australian culture and Christianity first and foremost.

Fortunately for Americans, President Donald Trump has sided with parents and teachers who are aware of the sinister policies that public schools in the U.S. are seeking to enact. During the National Prayer Breakfast earlier this month, Trump emphasized the importance of religion and announced new guidelines for the protection of prayer in public schools.

“To be a great nation, you have to have religion. You have to have faith. You have to have God,” he said.

Last month, Trump issued a proclamation for National School Choice Week. In it, he celebrated parents’ “God-given right” to direct their children’s education instead of Deep State bureaucrats and liberal activists. “My administration is bringing the sinister ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ agenda to a screeching halt and … we are proudly eliminating Federal funding for schools that permit discriminatory treatment and anti-American indoctrination,” his statement read.

The contrast between Albanese and Trump couldn’t be starker. On the one hand, Trump is calling out DEI policies and the attacks waged on religion and public prayer in schools, all the while seeking to ensure persons of faith can live out their beliefs. On the other hand, Albanese wants to prevent religion and Christian teachings from being on display in schools. Which vision will prevail only time will tell.

A video that’s a metaphor for the decline of the UK and the West

by Andrea Widburg

A very short video has emerged of an older white woman in England trying to get off a bus, only to be utterly defeated by a surge of black people—happy, not aggressive—streaming onto the bus. We don’t know where in England the video was taken, nor the circumstances (perhaps it was after a football match or concert), but it’s a perfect metaphor of how the West has changed with unlimited, unassimilated immigration.

Two data points are necessary to understand the video’s metaphoric weight. First, while the UK is still a majority-white country, that majority is dropping steadily. At the beginning of the 1950s, the UK was almost 100% British. When the 1960s began, 95.1% of the UK population identified as White British. When the 1970s began, the white population had dropped to 97.5%. By the beginning of the 1980s, it was at 95%.

At the start of the 1990s, and this is a pivotal date because it was before Tony Blair took power, the white population in the UK was still a relatively high 94.5%. Everything started to change very rapidly, though, once Blair opened the borders, a policy that remained under conservative leadership and consistently accelerated under Labour leadership.

In 2001, after a decade of Blair-ist policies, the white population had dropped to 89.7 percent. A decade later, it was 82.8% percent, and the official number as of 2021 was 76.8%.

As of 2024, the number of UK residents identifying as White British was only 73%— which was a decline of over 25% in sixty years. The assumption is that, within 40 years, Britain, which has been a white nation since prehistoric times, will be a majority minority country, with whites estimated at 34% of the population by 2100.

In the major urban areas, the future is now:

In 2022, it was revealed that London and Birmingham have become minority white British.

A 2023 ONS report stated 46 per cent of Londoners were from black and minority ethnic groups.

A census from the Birmingham City Observatory noted in 2021 that the percentage of white people had declined from 57.9 per cent to 48.6 per cent between 2011 and 2021.

But skin color is an external factor. What creates a nation isn’t color, it’s culture, which leads me to the second data point. Paired with the white skin in Britain were cultural expectations: stiff upper lips, good manners, public decorum, honesty in one’s dealings, etc. It was all “keep calm and carry on.” That was the perception the world had of Britain and that the Brits had of themselves.

That’s still the Britain I knew when I lived there in the early 1980s. Back then, the stereotype of British people politely standing in line for things (or “queuing,” as they called it) was true. Whether at banks or bus stops, public conduct was ordered and polite.

However, the immigrant population in the UK doesn’t come from ordered and polite societies. It comes from African, Middle Eastern, and Indian subcontinent cultures that are utterly chaotic when it comes to public conduct. And that’s how you get this video of a lone white woman trying desperately to get off a British bus in the face of an onrush of people of African descent (or even directly from Africa):

When America experienced a massive influx of immigrants in the last decades of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, assimilation was the name of the game. America’s institutions—schools, governments, entertainment, and general culture—expected the new immigrants to embrace American norms: law-abiding, orderly, hard-working, and patriotic. In schools, you saluted the flag and, later, said the pledge of allegiance, something that was still the norm when I was in elementary school.

Now, though, it’s considered “racist” to expect recent immigrants to conform to their new country’s values. So, the country is expected to conform to the recent immigrants’ values.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Singapore imposes its values on immigrants, and the immigrants comply. The result is an exceptionally high-functioning, livable country.

The reality is that humans are the most adaptable species on the planet—and the more powerful humans will always force the weaker to adapt. Unless the West starts flexing its cultural power, it’s done for.
