Germany must crush Central Europe first if it wants to push US out of Europe

In recent days, Germany, under globalist leadership, has proposed the creation within the European Union of the so-called E6 format – an informal framework bringing together the EU’s six largest economies: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Poland – intended to accelerate the implementation of selected economic policies whenever decision-making at the level of the EU-27 becomes stalled. Poland has been invited to join this initiative, and representatives of the current government have declared their support for it “in principle”.

Proponents of E6 speak of strengthening eurozone economies, boosting investment and reducing dependence on external suppliers. In reality, however, this initiative amounts to an extra-treaty structural shift in the way decisions are made within the EU. Were E6 to become operational, it would represent a major step towards de facto centralisation by fait accompli, reinforcing the dominance of Germany and France and enabling key policies – from energy to defence – to be shaped in line with the interests of the largest players. From Poland’s perspective, this project fragments Central Europe as a genuine political actor and, by drawing Poland into the EU’s “core integration”, neutralises its role as a bastion of freedom, normality, and transatlantic partnership. This includes pressure to adopt the euro and further concentration of power in Brussels – on terms fundamentally at odds with the strategic interests of Poland and the wider Central European region.

The E6 format is not a neutral “efficiency upgrade” of the EU, but an attempt to shift real decision-making into a narrow, informal circle of Member States dominated by Germany and France, now firmly in the hands of globalist elites. Its core danger lies in accelerating the mechanisms of dominance by the largest Member States and deepening EU centralisation at the expense of national sovereignty. For Poland, this means being gradually drawn into the potentially fatal machinery of a system designed in Brussels, in which Warsaw – even as a formal participant – would remain a marginal and ultimately dispensable partner. Unlike within the existing treaty-based framework, where Poland can, under favourable political conditions, build effective coalitions, the E6 structure would drastically curtail such room for manoeuvre.

Poland is too large an economy, too significant a military actor – possessing the largest land army in Europe and defence spending approaching 5 per cent of GDP – and too strategically located to be ignored. It also has the potential to leverage fully its strengths thanks to traditionally close and friendly relations with the United States – even if the current, compliant Tusk government is deliberately squandering these advantages. Today, Poland has become a laboratory of liberal lawlessness and the dismantling of state structures and cultural identity, where liberal elites are refining instruments that may next be deployed against other nations: Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, or even a politically reawakening France. In recent weeks, the intensity of the struggle for the “Polish soul” has become particularly visible: Whether Poles will remain anchored in Western values, freedom of speech and conscience, and transatlantic cooperation in the sense articulated by JD Vance in Munich last year – or whether they will be drawn, not only politically but also at the level of social consciousness, into the orbit of Brussels’ left-liberal elites.

The globalist Tusk government is pursuing a systematic policy of fostering anti-American sentiment, testing how far it can go in weakening Polish-American relations. We are witnessing a disinformation campaign of a scale and intensity comparable to communist anti-American propaganda of the 1980s. Liberal media – both German and American – together with politicians from Tusk’s ruling coalition, portray everything related to the Trump administration in a grossly manipulative manner: From events in Minneapolis and the actions of ICE, through the Greenland issue, to the Epstein affair, where alleged “Polish threads” prompted criminal proceedings on Tusk’s instruction and were then framed as a supposed “Donald Trump scandal”. Statements by Donald Trump criticising NATO’s engagement in Afghanistan are misrepresented as attacks on Poland, meanwhile communications by US Ambassador Rose concerning the offensive remarks made by a former communist apparatchik, now serving as Speaker of the Polish Sejm under a left-liberal majority, are framed as “interference in Polish affairs”. In short, a large-scale disinformation operation is underway to turn Poles away from America and President Donald Trump, reshaping Poland’s traditionally pro-American sympathies to align with the agenda of the Brussels-imposed, collaborationist government in Warsaw.

Drawing Poland into the E6 format is, in effect, a plan for its final neutralisation through entanglement in a constricting embrace. During eight years of conservative government, Poland – often in coordination with Hungary – demonstrated that it could effectively block ideologically-driven agendas, such as the imposition of woke policies in family law, by using or credibly threatening to use its veto. This is merely one example from a policy area I had the honour to oversee in government, illustrating how globalist projects can be stopped when national governments retain real leverage. Under E6, however, agendas in finance, defence, capital markets, raw materials, energy and industrial policy would be pre-negotiated within this inner circle, with Germany and France exercising decisive influence, and subsequently imposed on the EU-27 as a starting point. This would sharply narrow Poland’s room for manoeuvre and weaken its ability to build broader coalitions.

As a preliminary step in an advancing centralisation project, E6 would in practice create a two-tier Europe and dismantle the existing balance within the EU. The creation of such an inner circle – and Poland’s inclusion within it – would weaken relations with the Visegrád Group, the Baltic states and Eastern partners, undermining Poland’s role as a bridge between “old” Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe. It would also entail abandoning Poland’s position as a regional leader. In practical terms, this would significantly weaken Central Europe as a whole, forfeit the ambition of becoming a genuinely equal “second lung” of the continent, and open more strategic space in this part of Europe for Russia and China, both seeking access routes to the Atlantic.

From a geopolitical standpoint, E6 threatens to dilute Poland’s hard security priorities. If this format begins to shape defence policy, even a government in Warsaw committed to transatlantic partnership would inevitably be outvoted on issues such as policy towards Russia or the role of the United States and NATO, particularly under pressure from Paris to advance a version of “European strategic autonomy”. For Germany, the immediate benefit would be the neutralisation of US efforts to anchor European defence strategy more strongly in Poland and less in Germany. In the longer term, it would facilitate Berlin’s emergence, under the current globalist-led government, as a power centre acting independently of – and increasingly in opposition to – the United States. In the short term, this weakens the transatlantic security pillar vital to Poland; in the long term, it contributes to pushing America out of Europe and reviving a dangerous concert-of-powers dynamic, with a dependent, sovereignty-deprived Poland once again exposed to the strategic designs of Russia.

E6 also entails tangible economic and constitutional costs. Drawing Poland into the EU’s “core” would mean pressure to submit to deeper fiscal integration, capital markets union and, ultimately, eurozone membership – on terms primarily benefiting the largest economies. Italy and Spain have already paid a heavy price for this model, as have smaller states such as Slovakia and Lithuania. At the same time, the format aligns with a broader agenda of weakening veto rights and expanding majority voting, reducing the ability of Poland and other smaller Member States to block unfavourable decisions and to advance their own policy priorities.

Contrary to what the current globalist government in Warsaw will seek to portray, E6 is not an “elevation of Poland into the elite”, but a structural reconfiguration of EU decision-making that strengthens German and French dominance and fragments Central Europe as a genuine political actor. By drawing Poland into core integration, it neutralises its role as a bastion of freedom, normality and transatlantic partnership, including through pressure towards euro adoption and further centralisation of power. All of this takes place on terms fundamentally incompatible with the strategic interests of Poland and Central Europe, as well as with the civilisational interests of all those who seek to remain part of the community of free people and sovereign states of the West.

The Three P’s of Rural Racism: People, Pubs, and Pets

Illustration AI generator

The British countryside is “too white.” At least that is, according to Defra—the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, as reported earlier this month in these pages. Following a report in 2019, National Landscapes—a charity mostly funded by Defra—has been launching outreach programs aimed at encouraging ethnic minorities to break the stranglehold of “white communities,” “white spaces,” and “white environments.”

The initiatives focus on ‘people,’ ‘pubs,’ and ‘pets’—the three P’s of rural racism, surely? In terms of people, regrettably, the British countryside appears to cater to “white English culture”—which obviously has to change. Pubs traditionally involve drinking, which is unwelcoming to some communities. And pets—specifically dogs, are encouraged to be kept on a tighter leash, because Muslims do not like them. It’s worth pinching yourself and realising that this is not April 1st; this is real, and taxpayer money has been spent to reach these conclusions.

Neither is this Mother Nature’s first rodeo in terms of racism allegations. Only last year, it was reported that the British countryside was “overwhelmingly white” and was in need of more halal food. A year prior, rural England found itself a “racist colonial” white space, according to wildlife charities.

Of course, the British are used to this. Indeed, it is increasingly difficult to find things which aren’t ‘too white’—and it would certainly make for a shorter list than those that are—e.g., maths, the media, milk, the Miss Scotland pageant, Miss World, modelling, and museums—and that’s just the M’s. What’s interesting about the attack on the whiteness of the countryside is that the crime appears to be the audacious congregation of white people in physical spaces without the coddling comforts of diversity. You will perhaps recall that jogging, gardening, and hiking have all been similarly lambasted as secret havens of white supremacy.

However much the architects of white replacement profess their commitment to ‘diversity,’ the erasure of Britain’s white past, present, and future is no longer a fringe theory, but an observable process unfolding in plain sight. British history is being steadily revised until it can pass a modern diversity audit; the nation’s literature, art, and public memory are being thinned of “dead, white men,” clearing the path for a more progressive narrative. In the present, the indigenous population finds itself increasingly treated as an embarrassment in its own homeland: white faces are algorithmically minimised in stock imagery, while white families are quietly edited out of ‘real London’ promotions.

Culturally, self-flagellation has become a civic virtue; institutions once central to national life now frame their own founding stock as the problem to be solved. Demographically, the trajectory is unmistakable: white British people are already a minority in their own major cities—and will be in the country as a whole within forty years, while white birth rates remain the lowest and immigration continues at record levels. When this replacement is pointed out, the response has shifted from denial to a shrugging “so what?”—as if the disappearance of the people who built and named the place were merely an interesting footnote rather than the central fact of modern Britain.

None of this however is, I believe, the correct place to start. The first question I would ask, and which no one as far as I am aware in the commentariat has dared to venture, is what exactly does “too white” mean; and, more to the point, who had the gall to come up with the concept in the first place? Is there an acceptable level of whiteness, beyond which we are pushing our luck? Are whites, by definition, undesirable? Should there be diversity quotas for absolutely every avenue of life? Implicit in the statement is the notion that while all other groups are encouraged to gather, there is something worrying or even dangerous when whites do it—as immortalised by the BBC’s Jon Snow a few years back when reporting on a Brexit march: “It’s been the most extraordinary day. A day which has seen … I have never seen so many white people in one place, it’s an extraordinary story.” I always felt, and continue to feel, that this said more about him than those he referenced.

It is remarkable how reticent journalists are to question this school of thought, however. Here for instance is the ‘anti-racist’ campaigner, Ken Hinds, voicing his support for the diversification of the British countryside, and bemoaning the fact that it has been “white for far too long”:

For some however, this does not go far enough. While le grand remplacement is customarily denounced as a far-right conspiracy theory, there are now those such as Spain’s far-left leader, Irene Montero, who are saying the quiet part about replacement migration out loud.

‘No Prospect’ of European Governments Stopping Civil War, Says Top British Army Officer

Illustration AI generator

Major unrest is inevitable because “we don’t really live in a democracy” and political decisions are being made to “appease” and to avoid lesser unrest today rather than fend off greater trouble in the future, Colonel Richard Kemp has said.

A former commander of British forces in Afghanistan, retired Colonel Richard Kemp — now a prominent commentator on security and political issues — has told Israeli media his concerns about social cohesion in Europe and Britain, and the risk of civil war.

Colonel Kemp, who also fought eight years of counter-insurgency operations on British soil in Northern Ireland and had intelligence roles in Westminster and the Cabinet Office, spoke to Israeli broadcaster i24News about integration failures that allegedly saw more “British Muslims” fighting against the British Army in Afghanistan than for it.

Asserting the situation has deteriorated in the 20 years since he commanded in that conflict, Colonel Kemp said: “Things have been getting worse, getting bad, for many years, and they are only going to get worse.
“No government, the government now or any prospective government of the UK, has the guts to stop it. If they want to take strong action to prevent the Islamification of the UK, it’s going to mean big trouble for them. They don’t want trouble, they look four years ahead, they will kick the can down the road to someone else.”

The consequence of this “Islamification” running in tandem with political cowardice will likely be “civil war in Europe”, he said. This would be “something more like Northern Ireland but on a much more intensive scale where you have the indigenous British and some of the immigrant population and the British government all on three different sides fighting against each other,” the retired officer said.

The chances of Britain and Europe’s already fractious social order being maintained, let alone improved, are slim because of this political kicking the can and democratic dysfunction, the experienced counter-terrorism Army officer said. There is “no prospect of the government, any government” arresting decline, he claimed, because “the big problem that British people have is they don’t have political choice. We don’t really live in a democracy”.

He continued: “Whatever party you vote for, you get the same policies. That applies also to immigration and to the way in which the Islamic population is allowed to grow in numbers and dominance.”

Kemp cited the recent development of avowedly Islamist politics in the United Kingdom, with Gaza platform candidates elected to both parliament and council seats in high-migration, left-wing areas. This is an issue that has recently been revealed to be a source of concern for Britain’s left-wing governing party, Labour, after private internal messages between prominent politicians were unveiled.

Health Minister Wes Streeting had reflected on the impact of demographics on election results, messaging now-disgraced party Grandee Lord Mandelson to reflect on a recent local election: “I fear we’re in big trouble here – and I am toast at the next election. We just lost our safest ward in Redbridge (51% Muslim, Ilford S) to a Gaza independent. At this rate, I don’t think we’ll hold either of the two Ilford seats”.

Colonel Kemp said of the rising sectarianism of British politics: “We’re going to see much more of that in the next election”.

The civil war comments, while remarkable, are not the first time Colonel Kemp has made such remarks. Breitbart News reported in August 2025 when he addressed the same concerns, noting the retired officer has become something of a Bête noire for the UK left over his openly conservative views and support for Israel. Social cohesion, culture and the “political existence of the West” are under threat because of the developing “alliance” of the hard left and Islamism, which to some extent is supported and funded by geopolitical rivals to the West as a means to weaken it from within, he noted.

As reported then:

Picking out the hot-button topic of mass migration, which was the feature of every national election for a decade in Britain and yet was never addressed, Kemp was pessimistic, noting the political class had made “little effort” on the matter and did not appear to be about to try. Growing anger over allegations of sexual abuse of children by new arrivals has already sparked “an element of civil discontent” and could foment more, he said.

Between high numbers of legal and illegal migrant arrivals and their impact on society, the counter-terror expert and seasoned counter-insurgency fighter observed: “There’s only so much that I think people can take of that, and they’ve been very quiet up until now, the people in the UK have not really raised their voices against this, or in a very limited way only. But the more it develops, and it is going to develop more and more, the more unrest we are going to see.

“And they have no option. I’m not encouraging or supporting this, but I think the people will feel they have no option than to take action into their own hand rather than rely on political leaders who are doing nothing, in their eyes. I think there is every likelihood, I don’t know what the timeframe is, but I would go so far as to not just predict civil unrest, but civil war in the UK in the coming years if this situation continues which I believe it will.”

The discourse about the risk of civil unrest in Western countries is steadily growing, but has not yet been publicly addressed by any government, as doing so would necessarily accelerate deterioration. The first to address the subject in the public sphere was King’s College London War Studies Professor David Betz, who applied the longstanding, widely respected theory and literature of civil war research to Western nations such as the United Kingdom and France and concluded that the prerequisites for conflict were already present.

Professor Betz has been public about this developing situation since 2019, although in the past year has started to signal that Western countries have passed the run-up period and are now at the “tipping point”. As reported last summer, the academic said in an interview:

…it now appears to be too late to actually prevent things getting “very much worse”, and urged decision-makers to act to at least cushion the blow.

In a chilling warning, the academic said, “I would probably avoid big cities. I would suggest you reduce your exposure to big cities if you are able”. The coming violence, he believes, has been made inevitable by decades of government ineptitude and can’t be totally avoided.

Professor Betz said:

… there isn’t anything they can do, it’s baked in. We’re already past the tipping point, is my estimation… we are past the point at which there is a political offramp. We are past the point at which normal politics is able to solve the problem… almost every plausible way forward from here involves some kind of violence in my view.

Anything the government tries to do at this point… you can solve one kind of problem, but it will aggravate another kind of problem in doing so, and you get back to violence. The question really is about mitigating the costs, to my mind, not about preventing the outcome, I’m sorry to say… I have not heard a credible political way forward and I don’t see a single political figure who is credible in the role of national saviour, or even inclined to do so.

… “the bottom line is I don’t think there is now a political solution to this which takes the form of everything just working out OK after some period of difficulty. Things are bad now, but they are going to get very much worse. Hopefully after they will get better, but you will have to go through the period of very much worse before you get there.

UK: Two Islamists jailed for life after planning an attack on Manchester’s Jewish community

Illustration. Wikimedia Commons, U.S. federal government, public domain

Two men who planned to target the Jewish community in Manchester in what police described as potentially “the UK’s most deadly terror attack” have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The two, aged 38 and 52, were convicted of preparing an “ISIS-inspired plot” after arranging for firearms to be smuggled into the UK, Preston Crown Court heard. The plot was foiled by an undercover operative who played a crucial role in stopping the attack, according to Greater Manchester Police.

The two men received minimum prison terms of 37 and 26 years, respectively. While no specific target or date was identified, prosecutors revealed that the men intended to launch a gun assault during a march against antisemitism scheduled for the end of summer 2024. They planned to continue their attack in north Manchester.

During the sentencing, Mr. Justice Wall stated: “I am sure this would have led to the deaths of many people and serious injuries to many, many more.” He added that the plot involved the two men who were convicted and two others discharging AK-47s into a defenseless crowd, with plans for additional ammunition.

One of the men aimed to smuggle four AK-47 assault rifles, two handguns, and 900 rounds of ammunition into the UK. He had paid a deposit for the weapons and believed he had arranged their importation with an extremist named Farouk, who was actually an undercover operative.

The man had planned to “martyr himself” in the attack, preparing a will and leaving money for his family. Authorities became aware of him after he used multiple fake Facebook accounts to spread extremist views. He also joined a group linked to a Jewish community march, where he discussed plans to target the Jewish population in Manchester.

The first man recruited the second, a Kuwaiti national who worked in a furniture shop in Bolton, to assist in his plans. The pair traveled to Dover in March 2024 to conduct reconnaissance on how weapons could be smuggled into the UK without detection. They also carried out similar surveillance on Jewish locations in north Manchester.

Britain’s shame: The rape gang inquiry Parliament hopes will disappear

Lowe in parliament as an independent in 2025. Wikimedia Commons, © House of Commons, OGL v3.0

Frustrated by the ruling Labour government’s refusal to undertake a meaningful national investigation of the U.K.’s infamous “grooming gangs,” independent MP Rupert Lowe launched his own. He now fears that the press and politicians will refuse to discuss the devastating findings.

“Our inquiry has uncovered multiple rape gang survivors who had their abusers attempt to traffic them overseas to Pakistan and elsewhere,” Lowe wrote on X on February 11. “They failed. How many did not? We believe that there are a vast number of raped British girls currently being held overseas as sex slaves.” Continuing:

I have written to the Home Secretary, and I questioned her in Parliament. There is ZERO appetite to even discuss it. In order to sound the alarm, I have tabled a parliamentary motion – “Rape gang overseas trafficking” highlighting the concerns, and calling for the Home Office to initiate, as a matter of urgency, a full and properly resourced national investigation into the overseas trafficking of victims connected to the rape gangs.

So far, just two MPs have supported it. Alex Easton and Carla Lockhart from Northern Ireland. I am calling on all MPs to put aside petty political differences and back the motion to force the Home Office to act. Please contact your MP and ask them to support. This really matters.

Several hours later, the formal X page for “The Rape Gang Inquiry” stated that Lowe’s motion now has six MPs supporting it.

Lowe launched the investigation early last year due to the Labour government’s reluctance to launch a national investigation into the rape gangs, crowdfunding more than £600,000 ($817,230) to start an independent, non-statutory inquiry. Some reports indicate that up to 20,000 donors contributed to the project.

Lowe’s inquiry is set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC), featuring a panel that includes independent experts, legal advisors, and political figures such as MP Esther McVey. The CIC is interviewing victims, submitting Freedom of Information requests to law enforcement officials, NHS trusts, and town councils. Hearings began this month in London.

“This was the largest Crowdfunder in British political history,” Lowe wrote. “All achieved with almost zero help from the media. It was done by you, with the overwhelming percentage of donations small amounts. It was a humbling experience, and I want to thank every single person who donated – one penny or one thousand pounds.”

The Labour government announced a national statutory inquiry into the grooming gangs two months after Lowe’s independent inquiry was announced – critics stated that this was only done in response to massive national and international pressure – and a panel was not announced until December. The process is ongoing, and slow-moving.

“I have been desperately depressed with their progress,” Lowe wrote. “My parliamentary motion calling for action has been signed by both Conservative and Labour MPs. No Lib Dem. No SNP. No Reform. Our job is not only to press ahead with our investigation, but also to pressure this appalling Labour government. Our team has been working tirelessly, gathering evidence, speaking with survivors/relevant witnesses, and preparing for our hearings.”

The hearings are being run by Sammy Woodhouse, a barrister, advocate, and survivor of the Rotherham rape gangs. The subjects being examined leave no stone unturned, including: “Parents and carers; Pregnancy, abortion, born of rape; Whistleblowers; Policing and justice; Social care; NHS, mental health and sexual health; Education and licensing.; Demographics – the role of religion; Media, social media and the mechanisms of online grooming; and politics.”

In order to force coverage of the findings, The Rape Gang Inquiry has begun to post quotes from the hearings to social media: “They would toot the horn of the car and then a child would be taken to the front door [by a staff member of the children’s home],” one reads. Other quotes feature survivors detailing rapes with a range of objects; Pakistani traffickers choosing children for abuse with impunity from children’s homes; testimony of police officers bringing children to the homes of their abusers; testimonies of horrific rapes followed by visits to the hospital that went unreported.

“It’s easy to talk in politics, we are trying to do,” Lowe wrote. “Labour are failing. The Tories failed in their 14 years. Reform promised an inquiry, and failed. The Lib Dems fail to even properly acknowledge there’s an issue. It’s so very disappointing. Survivors, and their families, all deserve so much better. The mass rape of working class white girls is a rotting stain on our country’s history – this inquiry is doing our very best to drag the scandal into the spotlight.”

“I’ve always found that actions speak louder than words. Progress made, a lot more to do.”

Murder with a knife after a dispute over a marriage: Persian clan riots outside clinic in Hamburg, Germany

On Thursday evening, a brutal bloody incident took place, once again highlighting the explosive propensity for violence in certain migrant communities.

In a Persian restaurant, two men – both apparently from the Middle Eastern-Persian cultural circle – got into what was initially a verbal argument. The conflict, which according to recent findings was related to a refused marriage or similar family honor conflicts, quickly shifted to the parking lot behind the restaurant.

There, one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the 41-year-old restaurant owner, leaving him in critical condition. Despite being rushed to the hospital by relatives, the victim died of his stab wounds that night at a hospital in Hamburg’s Wandsbek district. The perpetrator fled by car and remains at large – a typical escape route after such crimes, with perpetrators often disappearing into clans or ethnic networks.

But that was not the end of the Far Eastern turmoil: an angry mob of dozens of relatives of the deceased gathered in front of the clinic. They tried to force their way into the emergency room, obstructed doctors and nurses, and severely disrupted normal operations. Only a massive police presence with around 20 patrol cars and crisis intervention prevented worse from happening.

Such scenes—knives as standard weapons, immediate escalation for supposed “honor” reasons, followed by turmoil in hospitals—are no longer isolated incidents, but an alarming pattern that is increasingly turning Germany into a failed state. They show how imported archaic conflict resolution methods and a lack of integration lead to deadly violence that increasingly challenges the rule of law and public safety.

Instead of left-wing woke declarations of concern, what is finally needed is the consistent deportation of dangerous offenders, stricter gun controls in problematic communities, and an end to the trivialization of such “cultural conflicts” as mere “disputes.”

Sweden to Bar Migrants Who Cannot Speak Swedish From Citizenship

Screengrab youtube

The right-wing coalition government in Sweden has announced plans to significantly increase the threshold to obtain citizenship in the country, including a prohibition on migrants who fail to learn the native language.

The Swedish Ministry of Justice said this week that a series of new citizenship requirements will take effect by June 6th of this year. The ministry said that the measures will seek to “strengthen the importance of citizenship and increase incentives for individuals to become part of Swedish society, which also strengthens the Swedish community.”

According to the MoJ, the government will require migrants to live in the country for at least eight years to become eligible for citizenship, up from the current five-year standard.

It will also become necessary to demonstrate “self-sufficiency”, with a monthly income of around 20,000kr ($2,250).

Finally, prospective citizens will now have to demonstrate the ability to speak Swedish and knowledge of Swedish society.

Migration Minister Johan Forssell said, “Swedish citizenship will mean much more than it does today. It should not only be a travel document, but rather a receipt that one has fully become part of our community.

“It is both reasonable and fair that anyone who wants to become a Swedish citizen is expected to be able to speak Swedish, support themselves, have basic knowledge of our country and live honestly. The proposal we have presented today is an important part of the work to enhance the value of Swedish citizenship.”

Ludvig Aspling, the migration policy spokesman for the populist Sweden Democrats, added: “For a long time, the requirements for becoming a Swedish citizen have been far too weak.

“As a step in the work to strengthen the importance of Swedish citizenship, we are now making sure to tighten these and ensure that the Swedish community is primarily reserved for well-behaved and honest individuals.”

The previous leftist government in Stockholm oversaw a radical transformation of the country following the 2015 European Migrant Crisis, which perhaps transformed Sweden more than any other EU country.

The massive influx of foreigners, who now account for over a fifth of the population of the once homogenous Nordic nation, coincided with a significant increase in crime, notably gang conflict, which saw the once peaceful country become one of the bombing capitals of the world.

However, the current right-wing coalition government of Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has made some progress in reversing these trends since coming to power in 2022. Indeed, according to a report this week from London’s Daily Telegraph, the number of shootings in Sweden was cut by 63 per cent last year compared to the high experienced in 2022, falling from 390 to 147 last year.

Police have attributed the success in large part to conservative legislation empowering police to stop and search people, including children, who have often been used by criminal networks, given that they do not face the same length of prison sentences.

The government is also planning to end this loophole, with legislation set to allow children as young as 13 to be tried as adults for serious crimes.

Norwegian ex-PM Jagland charged with corruption over Epstein links

Nobel Committee Chairman Thorbjorn Jagland presents President Barack Obama with the Nobel Prize medal and diploma during the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Raadhuset Main Hall at Oslo City Hall in Oslo, Norway, Dec. 10, 2009. Wikimedia Commons, Official White House Photo by Samantha Appleton, (public domain).

Former Norwegian prime minister Thorbjørn Jagland has been formally charged with “aggravated corruption”.

That came following an investigation by Norway’s economic crime unit Økokrim into his connections with the late convicted US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The charge was confirmed yesterday after police searched several of Jagland’s properties, including his Oslo residence.

The action followed the Council of Europe’s decision the previous day to waive the diplomatic immunity Jagland enjoyed as a former secretary general of the Council of Europe at the explicit request of Norwegian authorities.

Økokrim opened the probe on February 5, citing documents released by US authorities in the Epstein case that revealed emails and planned visits.

These allegedly show Jagland and family members intended to use Epstein’s properties in Paris, New York and Palm Beach after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for child sex offences, as well as possible acceptance of travel or other benefits linked to Jagland’s official positions.

Jagland, who served as Norway’s prime minister in 1996–1997, foreign minister, president of the Storting (parliament), head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee and Council of Europe secretary general from 2009 to 2019, “denies all charges” according to his law firm Elden.

His lawyer, Anders Brosveet, described the formal charging as a procedural consequence of the searches and stressed that Jagland is co-operating fully with investigators and willing to be questioned.

The case forms part of a broader wave of Norwegian inquiries sparked by the Epstein document releases in late 2025, which have also implicated other prominent figures including diplomats and members of the royal family circle.

The scandal has reverberated across Norwegian politics, with current Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre describing the broader Epstein revelations as a “brutal reality” that demands unflinching scrutiny.

Jagland’s long tenure heading the Norwegian Nobel Committee (2009–2015) already drew criticism for perceived politicisation of the Peace Prize; now, questions swirl over whether any Epstein-linked benefits could have influenced decisions during that era.

In the US, the Epstein files continue to make waves as well.

Kathryn Ruemmler, who served as White House counsel to then-president Barack Obama from 2011 to 2014, announced yesterday she will step down as chief legal officer and general counsel of Goldman Sachs, effective June 30, 2026.

Her years-long correspondence with Epstein. included emails in which she referred to him as an “older brother” or “Uncle Jeffrey”, wished him happy birthday affectionately and appeared to downplay aspects of his criminal history post-conviction.

She had previously defended her interactions as limited and professional, insisting she had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes beyond public reports.
