“We have your address, we’ll do you like Samuel Paty”: Police officer and family expelled from western France after threats from drug dealers

For almost four months, a couple working in the public sector in Boissy-Saint-Léger (Val-de-Marne) had been living under stress – their home address was known – while awaiting a decision from the administration. The newspaper Le Parisien took an interest in their story – and suddenly the situation was clarified. Keep the gun within reach. Not too close to the children, because it’s loaded. But not too far away either, in case you need to use it. These are the kind of thoughts that trouble Thierry and his wife. For almost four months, the police officer couple, who work at the police station in Boissy-Saint-Léger (Val-de-Marne), have been on guard. Not only because the police officers have been threatened with death personally in two neighbourhoods where they usually work. One of the thugs confided to an officer that he knew Thierry’s home address. Was it a bluff? Without a doubt. But who in his place would be prepared to bet his life? And that would jeopardise the existence of an entire family.
