Paris: A man armed with a knife threatens to slit the throats of staff at a brasserie and claims allegiance to the pro-Hamas movement

A man threatened to kill and slit the throats of several employees of a brasserie on Avenue du Président Wilson in the Alma-Marceau neighbourhood in the eighth arrondissement of Paris on the night of Thursday June 12 to Friday June 13, according to reports.
At the time of the crime, at around 00:30, the perpetrator, who was barefoot and dressed in black, also was holding a knife. He was on the run and was actively sought until he was finally tracked down and arrested by officers from the Brigade anticriminalité (BAC) near another pub on Avenue Hoche.

The suspect, who was clearly not in full possession of his mental faculties, claimed to be a Palestinian militant and pro-Hamas, the terrorist organisation responsible for the October 7 carnage, a police source said.
Idris Z., 30 years old, homeless, born in France, was taken into police custody. He was to undergo an examination for behavioural disorders. An investigation was opened. The Paris prosecutor’s office, contacted by Valeurs actuelles, has not yet given a statement.
