Terror at Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Berlin! The event was called off in the evening after a vehicle ploughed into a crowd at the Tiergarten. According to the authorities, 16 people are currently receiving medical treatment. According to fire service spokesperson Dominik Pretz, three of the victims are in a life-threatening condition and eight have suffered serious injuries. For one person, help came too late: a woman was fatally injured. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
The incident took place at around 10 pm near Lennéstraße in Berlin.
Investigators have identified a suspected perpetrator and have already taken initial action against him. According to the police, the man currently under suspicion is known to be associated with Islamist circles. The search for him is currently in full swing.
