The body of an eviscerated man with his throat slit open has been found in a sports ground in France.
The gruesome discovery was made on Monday morning in the small village of Pont-de-Metz in northern France on the sports ground by a person who had been out on a walk.
The corpse of the unnamed man was splayed out in a cross position, French newspaper Le Parisien reports.
Initial investigations have determined that the victim is a 32-year-old man.
The Amiens public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation for what they believe to have been an ‘intentional homicide’.
It comes just days after the dead body of a young woman was found in rural France.
Floriane Roux, 31, was reported missing on July 23 before her corpse was uncovered by a police dog on July 28.
It was hidden in thick undergrowth in the village of Paunat, in the Dordogne department, east of Bordeaux.
