A 27-year-old man allegedly threatened to kill a man in the Ottakring neighbourhood of Vienna on Monday morning after using a public toilet near Yppenplatz. He had previously demanded money for the use of the free toilet, the police reported on Tuesday. He then allegedly chased the victim and made further threats while holding a knife in his hand. Police officers arrested him and seized the pocket knife and a small amount of narcotics.
In the course of the investigation, another victim was identified who was also allegedly threatened by the suspect after using the toilet and forced to pay money. The suspect, a 27-year-old Afghan national, did not confess during questioning. He was taken to a detention centre. According to a police spokesman, no further background to the offence was known on this Tuesday.
