Greece: Pakistani man sexually assaulted a 60-year-old woman

On September 9, 2023, at 9:00 p.m., a 60-year-old local woman, a resident of Menetis Karpathos, reported that at 8:15 p.m. of the same day she was attacked by a dark-skinned man aged approximately 25-30 years, who was wearing a white shirt and turquoise short pants.

According to her testimony, he approached her without her noticing when he was walking her dog. He grabbed her by the shoulders and chest. When she resisted, he threw her to the ground with force, Dimokratiki reported.

The police found a 24-year-old Pakistani who matched the description on the beach of Pigadia. They brought him in, and the 60-year-old woman identified him without reservation, asking for his criminal prosecution.

The file that was created will be submitted to the Criminal Prosecution of Rhodes for further action.

Elsewhere, a 38-year-old Pakistani national was arrested yesterday morning by the police authorities in Thessaloniki, while a case was filed against the foreigner for violating the Law on the Customs Code.

The police handcuffed the 38-year-old in the centre of Thessaloniki, as he was found in possession of 3 boxes containing 1,500 packs of cigarettes without the relevant consumption tax tape of the Greek government, which he had earlier received from a courier company.

In contrast, an additional 125 were found inside the house contraband packages of tobacco, likewise seized.

The arrested person will be taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Thessaloniki.
