The knife has become a weapon of Islamic terrorists in Germany, you only have to read the many news reports – even if they are not always classified as in this case:
In the case of the knife attacks in a Duisburg gym, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against a Syrian national before the State Protection Senate of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court on August 30. The accused is charged with murder and attempted murder in three cases as well as dangerous bodily harm and grievous bodily harm, the Federal Public Prosecutor announced on Thursday. According to the indictment, the man is said to be a follower of the radical Islamist ideology of the foreign terrorist organisation “Islamic State” (IS).
Based on this ideology, he had decided to contribute to a global religious war by killing alleged “infidels” in Germany. To this end, the accused stabbed a man he met by chance with a knife at least 28 times in the stomach, head and neck area in Duisburg’s old town on April 9, it was said. The victim died on the same day as a result of the injuries sustained.
On April 18, the accused also entered a fitness studio in Duisburg in order to kill as many “infidels” as possible. In the changing room and shower area, according to the indictment, he stabbed three male gym-goers one after the other with a knife, some of them several times in the upper body, causing life-threatening injuries. Subsequently, he inflicted two stab wounds to the thigh of a first aider.
The accused has been in pre-trial detention since April 24, initially on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Duisburg District Court on the same day, which was replaced on May 24 by an arrest warrant issued by the investigating judge of the Federal Supreme Court. The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office had taken over the investigation on April 28 because of the special importance of the case.
It remains to be seen whether the judge will once again find ” insanity defence” here – for the victims it no longer matters anyway.
