In London, a 23-year-old German has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for spreading terrorist propaganda. A court in London imposed a special prison sentence of 40 months on Tuesday, of which the convict must spend at least two thirds in prison.
The man had shared videos of brutal mass executions, bombings and flags of the Islamic State terrorist organisation with a friend on messenger services before officers picked him up at London Stansted Airport last October and discovered the content on his mobile phone.
Before that, the man had spent about half a year with acquaintances in London. A few months ago, the 23-year-old, who originally comes from Ratingen in North Rhine-Westphalia, had already confessed to the incidents. His defence lawyer, however, described him as an immature young man who had not intended to spread the propagandistic content on a large scale and had distanced himself from it in the meantime.
