If you’ve come across any German media headlines of late, you might be understandably confused. From Süddeutsche Zeitung on September 15: “Policewoman allegedly raped 14-year-old girl.”
Now to FOCUS Online: “Policewoman allegedly raped 14-year-old girl in toilet.”
Let’s try Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung: “Policewoman allegedly raped teenage girl.”
TZ’s headline had more detail: “Teen rape, brutal pornography: disturbing allegations against ex-policewoman.”
Of course, as you may have already deduced, it is not a “policewoman” on trial for the rape of a 14-year-old girl. The alleged perpetrator is a 55-year-old man who calls himself Maja Schmid and identifies as transgender. Schmid had previously worked for the Federal Police Inspectorate in Rosenheim for 35 years before being suspended.
According to news reports, Schmid was a friend of the girl’s mother. On an August 2025 outing with the girl at a fast-food restaurant, he followed her into the bathroom, raped her in a stall, and left her trembling, traumatized, and terrified. He is currently on trial in Traunstein for rape, the possession and distribution of child pornography, and the production of “material depicting sexual activity with an animal.”
Schmid was arrested after the alleged assault, and a police investigation uncovered an enormous amount of other criminal material on his devices. The German press had colluded to hide his identity, but the investigative outlet Reduxx revealed his identity.
“Though most German outlets blurred his face and various tattoos in an attempt to keep him anonymous, a photo posted by OVB Online and Rosenheim24 of Schmid in court showed him with an uncovered arm tattoo, and his identity was confirmed by cross-referencing the tattoo against an uncensored photo posted to his Facebook,” Reduxx reported.
“Schmid was previously profiled by Himmeblau on his classic Cadillac Coupé DeVille, which he often brought to various car shows in his region. In the article, Schmid is described as a ‘woman’ with a ‘delicate soul.’”
On September 15, on the first day of the trial, prosecutors and the defense made a sentencing agreement in which Schmid confesses in exchange for a prison term of a mere three to three and a half years despite the abuse material found on his digital devices.

Reduxx reported. “In court, prosecutors noted that the youngest victim was around three years of age. According to NiUS, the files in the man’s possession depicted ‘serious acts of violence against children.’”
These crimes, it must be emphasized, were not committed by a “policewoman.” They were male crimes, committed by a policeman. The primary duty of journalists is to convey the truth to their audiences, and as I have said in this space many times, I believe that the refusal of the mainstream press to tell the truth about trans-identifying criminals is the single greatest factor in the ongoing, spectacular collapse of their credibility.
