On Sunday November 12, the priests of the Redemptorist community in Valence (Drôme) received messages threatening to “slit their throats”, as Le Figaro learned from police sources. The author of the message also said he was preparing to “blow up” their chapel, which is located near the Armenian church on Chemin de Saint-Joseph, on Monday November 13. According to a source familiar with the case, he also claimed to be acting “in the name of Allah”.
These messages were sent via the social network Discord.

The diocese of Valence says it “regrets this act in a tense security environment” and calls for young people to be instructed to “prevent them from becoming victims of dangerous influencers”.
