On Wednesday March 22, Advocate General Richard Pallain asked for one year in prison without parole for Nour Benostmane, accused of stealing and raping Flicka, a 12-year-old Samoyed dog, between September 15 and 19, 2022. The 43-year-old man from Chambéry had been sentenced by the criminal court on January 9, 2023, to five years imprisonment, four of them unconditional. He had appealed against this decision.
He appeared in court for a second trial on Wednesday and reiterated that he had not stolen or raped the dog, had not abused her and had not threatened to kill a police officer after arresting him. “The dog, I found it. I heard voices telling me: the dog is for you, take the dog!”. The animal had been discovered in the basement of the Opac house that Nour Benostmane occupied, having no light, with a blanket, a piece of dry bread and an empty bowl. “To the Koran, to the good Lord, I took care of the dog! I took him to the cellar because he was losing hair. I did not perform any sexual acts on the dog. It was a teddy bear, I had fallen in love with it. I was possessed that day!”(…) Le Dauphiné
