Stones were thrown, insults were hurled and vehicles were damaged, forcing the police and gendarmerie to intervene jointly to restore calm.
According to witness statements, the motorcyclists were quickly surrounded by a hostile crowd. Stones were thrown, damaging vehicles and causing panic. The Dole police, with the support of the gendarmerie’s PSIG, had to intervene urgently to prevent the confrontation from escalating further. However, no arrests were reported.
The incident, which involved several dozen people, has left a climate of fear. Some residents fear that tensions could worsen in the future and are concerned about an escalation. Many say they feel that neighbourhoods such as Les Mesnils-Pasteur are left to their own devices and have to live in an atmosphere of constant confrontation.
