On Monday, the 21-year-old was sentenced to one year suspended prison by the court in Beauvais for “publicly glorifying terrorist acts”. The accused was also banned from being on French territory for two years.

On Friday March 10, police were called to an emergency call at the Coallia shelter in Beauvais (Oise): A person named Alhassane D. had gained entry and asked for a “place to sleep and something to eat”. The man, who was visibly drunk, became angry and began to swear. In the waiting room of the drop-in centre he finally says the sentence that will cost him dearly: “It was Gaddafi who brought me here, I will plant a bomb like Bin Laden, you will all die in hell.”

He then spat in the direction of the female staff of the home and threw some objects around that he just got hold of. The 21-year-old is arrested by the police and taken into police custody, where he denies having made such remarks. Alhassane was sentenced on Monday in the Beauvais court to one year’s suspended imprisonment and a two-year ban from being on French territory for publicly advocating terrorist acts. […]
