A man was critically injured in a stabbing in the old town of Stralsund on Friday morning. According to the police, two employees of a barbershop stabbed each other in front of the shop. A passing police patrol reportedly immediately intervened between the 35-year-old Iraqi and the 31-year-old Syrian and gave first aid, as the men had inflicted stab wounds on each other.
The hairdresser colleagues were then immediately taken to a clinic for further treatment, police said. The 35-year-old is said to be in danger of his life due to the injuries. It is still unclear what triggered the stabbing.
