Beauty, Tradition, Identity: Where We Live – by Robert Adam, a leading classical architect

Prof. Robert Adam has been a leading figure in traditional and classical architecture for 25 years. In 1992 he founded ADAM Architecture, now Europe’s largest practice specialising in traditional design. He has written six books including the leading textbook on classical architecture. An architect favoured by King Charles III, Prof. Adam was a key designer and consultant on the Poundbury development in Dorset, a project championed by the Prince of Wales (now King Charles III). This speech was delivered at the New Culture Forum’s regional #NCFLocals conference: “A Celebration of England – Magna Carta and the Making of the English”, held in Salisbury in March 2025.

  1. Fantastic lecture. As a former art student with a course in architecture, he leaves me inspired and vindicated after 50 years of enduring modernism. Thank you so much for The New Culture Forum.
