Islamic scholar Olivier Carré draws a parallel between the jihad propagated by Sayyid Qutb and the plea of the monk Bernard of Clairvaux

You draw a parallel between the jihad propagated by Sayyid Qutb and the call of the monk Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153) to “die for Christ”, referring to the “same common heritage, Christian and Muslim, with which we are all burdened”, which some would call bold. What do you mean by that?

Some experts have pointed out that Bernard of Clairvaux, who actively supported the Templars, was directly inspired in his sermon by verses from the Koran that mentioned jihad to support the Second Crusade. So my concern is to remind people that there is a warlike Christianity and that it could be supported by people who, like Bernard of Clairvaux, are considered very spiritual and peaceful.
I therefore see convergences with Qutb’s Jihad insofar as it is about experiences that are both mystical and physical. Hence the affinity with the title of the first two issues of my Qutb reading, Mysticism and Politics: this mysticism is both central and oblique in any religion, Christian or Muslim. So there is no civilisation that can claim to embody peace or tolerance.

What is this “promising post-Islamism” that you refer to at the end of your “Koran of the Islamists”?

I am a follower of Olivier Roy, who observed an emerging post-Islamism in some Muslim countries as early as the 1990s [after his book L’Echec de l’islam politique (1992), in which he diagnosed the dead end of Islamist parties, Olivier Roy used the term “post-Islamism” to define the emergence of a political Islam in the last three decades, reduced to a reference to identity, and fitting into a state functioning according to secular principles].

Like him, I thought that this new trend could shape a certain democracy by making it possible to live together between antagonistic ideologies. In contrast to the fundamentalist vision – as prevalent in Saudi Arabia or Iran – this post-Islamism desacralises certain aspects of life, especially collective life, and makes possible a revival of the distinction between politics and religion. This Muslim democracy can be seen in Morocco today or in its beginnings in Turkey under Recep Tayyip Erdogan [the current Turkish president was prime minister from 2003 to 2014], before his regime slipped into authoritarianism.

So it is not a question of being in favour of or opposed to the Muslim Brotherhood, but of taking note of the fact that moderate Islamism is popular in many of these countries and needs to be dealt with. The physical elimination as currently practiced in Egypt only repeats what happened with Sayyid Qutb: to make martyrs of these activists.Le Monde

Spain: Since 2015, the number of forced marriages has increased by 60%; 14% of these involve girls under 15 years of age

Hannan Serroukh’s stepfather wanted to marry her off shortly before her 15th birthday. The now 47-year-old woman is a member of the Politeia Foundation and has been fighting for over 30 years to prevent the same fate from happening to other girls in Spain. The number of forced marriages in our country has increased by 60% since 2015.

Hannan Serroukh was born in Barcelona to Moroccan parents who emigrated to Spain in the late 1960s. Her life, integrated into Spanish society, was happy until the death of her father. Then began a nightmare whose consequences continue to this day.

Her mother remarried another Moroccan who, according to Hannah, used her mother to come to Spain. As a follower of the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood organisation, his goal was not to work, as his parents had done, but to open a mosque in Figueras.

With their arrival, Hannan and her mother’s lives changed radically: music was forbidden in their house, they had to wear the hijab and no longer communicate with their Spanish friends. In his opinion, the girl was “heavily contaminated by the West”, Hannanan recounts, “and that’s why he felt I should marry a man from his faith”.

She responded quickly: “He had made allusions to my past life and that made me flee. She travelled to Girona, where she was picked up by a train driver who took her to the police, whereupon she was taken to a youth protection centre.

By escaping, Hannan was able to avoid becoming a victim of forced marriage. This practice has increased by 60% in Spain since 2015 and takes place every two seconds worldwide, according to the international organisation Plan. 14% of these forced marriages involve girls under the age of 15, and only one in three girls has reached the age of 18.

Be that as it may, and according to Hannan Serroukh, the statistics in our country are disturbing, as only a few girls report this forced marriage. However, in Catalonia, the number of complaints has doubled since 2017 until today.

According to her, it is the imams in the mosques who bless these marriages, which are often only registered in the country of origin of the girls’ parents until they are 18 and then registered here. “There have been cases of couples appearing in public as uncle and niece, even though they are entering into a marriage recognised by the imam,” says Hannan.

According to her, the regions in Spain most affected by this practice are Catalonia, Valencia, parts of the Basque Country, Fuenlabrada in Madrid and Algeciras in Andalusia.

How should a daughter behave who is forced by her own family to marry a man she does not even know? Serroukh says she has to face “an arduous but rewarding journey”. She has to approach the security forces in the best possible way, tell them her situation and they will take care of her as she is protected by our state institutions”.

“Everyone is the master of his/her own life and the shaper of his/her own future,” concluded Hannan, who was able to escape a forced marriage but had to pay a high price: she has not met her mother and siblings since. El Mundo

Rumours persist that Brigitte Macron is a man

Where is Jean-Michel Trogneux? Photo: Twitter

According to a researcher, Brigitte Macron was born as Jean-Michel Trogneux, a man. But president Macron’s wife said she was being targeted by a transphobic rumor and she would file a complaint.

The source of this information on Brigitte Macron’s past life was in articles published in September in the journal Faits et Documents citing extensive evidence of a massive cover-up about a trans figure in the Elysee.

France’s the first lady dismissed it as a conspiracy theory.

On French social networks the hashtag #JeanMichelTrogneux has been trending for several weeks now. On November 7, the Twitter account “Le journal de la macronie”, launched the quest for finding Brigitte’s “lost brother” who has disappeared without a trace.

The hashtag has generated close to 80 000 mentions, in particular on “anti-tax and far-right accounts”, noted the Visibrain site. A Russian television station has demanded an investigation into the rumours.

The journalist Natacha Rey, who is the author, said she had firm evidence that the first lady was born Jean Michel Trogneux, a transgender male. Rey has been researching the shady past of Brigitte and the curious disappearance of her alleged “brother”.

Jean Michel Trogneux was last spotted in the company of the highly controversial Joseph Doucé (since found murdered) in the late eighties of the previous century, around the time when Brigitte appeared, said Rey. The pastor was the first advocate of gay marriages and trans surgery and head of a pedophile ring. Many suspect that Doucé had played a role similar to that of Jeffrey Epstein: Blackmailing those in power.

The magazine Closer has attempted a denial. It accused the magazine which publishes French political news of “regularly relaying conspiracy theories”. But the Wikipedia entry for Faits & Documents describes it as a newspaper which is taken seriously.

The “fact-checking” Closer however blatantly lied that Emmanuel Macron was 17 years old when he met Brigitte. The current President was 14 years old, which could constitute a crime with at least two aggravating circumstances. Macron was born in 1977 and Brigitte in 1953 according to official records.

In 2018, for the first time in the history of the Élysée, Emmanuel Macron opened the presidential palace to transvestites for the Fête de la Musique. The presidential pair posed with the cringeworthy “artists” which led to harsh criticism from conservatives.

An Italian psychiatrist Professor Adriano Segatori said he believed that Macron was raped by pederasts as a child.

Similar rumours were circulation about Michelle Obama, former US President Barack Obama’s wife.

Spain: An African migrant attacks police officers in broad daylight. He had recently been released in the morning of the same day because of a similar attack the day before (video)

In Cordoba, a man with a sub-Saharan migrant background was arrested on Saturday night. He threw tables and chairs onto a busy street.

Several officers had to use their weapons of defence to disarm the person. At one point, the attacker punched a policeman lying on the ground in the presence of the other officers and numerous passers-by. Two officers of the Cordoba National Police were slightly injured.

(…) The person arrested was also the main participant in a similar altercation on Friday (…) On Saturday morning, the same day as this most recent incident, he was temporarily released and in the afternoon this altercation took place.ABC.es

Saudi Arabia: Scandal about too naked samba dancers (VIDEO)

A video of a samba show featuring dancers deemed too naked has sparked fierce controversy in Saudi Arabia and led local authorities to launch an investigation, Le Parisien reported on Sunday January 9. The images show three dancers swaying their hips in the streets of Jazan, a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia. The abdomen and the bare legs and arms of the three women, who are wearing the traditional samba costume with colourful feathers, have caused a scandal in the Gulf monarchy.

The state television station El-Ekhbariya broadcast the images, taking care to make the bodies blurry. “The shows are for entertainment, not for violating good morals and behaviour that goes against religion and the morals of society,” a resident of the city fretted over the station’s microphone. Many people on the internet were outraged, considering the polemics in particular to be exaggerated in view of the dancers’ clothing. In view of the strong reactions from conservatives, the Prince of Jazan on Friday 7 January ordered an investigation and the introduction of measures “necessary to prevent any forms of violation”, without giving further details.

This controversy highlights the growing divisions within the Muslim monarchy, which has recently started hosting major sporting events and entertainment festivals. A move welcomed by part of the population but strongly resented by the more devout.

New Year’s Gift from the Spanish Government: The National Security Act

The Spanish government has given the people a New Year’s present that could hardly be more totalitarian: On December 31, 2021, the socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his colleagues published the Royal Decree (1150/2021) on the National Security Strategy. It has been in force since January 1, 2022.

The text of the law describes in detail over 30 pages what the new national security plan will look like. This makes two things clear: There is no longer any separation of powers in Spain and “disinformation” – in addition to possible attacks that could be carried out by sea, from the air or by land on Spain – is now the fourth major threat to state security. [Real Decreto 1150/2021, de 28 de diciembre, por el que se aprueba la Estrategia de Seguridad Nacional 2021. – 31 December 2021]

The government has decided that it must take a number of measures to “prevent disinformation that could endanger democracy”, which is essentially a decree that would criminalize anything that threatens their grip on power since the decision-making power to define “disinformation” is now completely in the hands of the government.

“This Royal Decree is issued on the basis of the powers provided for in Articles 149.1.4.a and 29.a of the Spanish Constitution, which give the State exclusive competence for defense and the armed forces and for public security… The Government is empowered to: to issue as many provisions as are necessary for the development of this Royal Decree.”

In a video on his YouTube channel Un abogado contra la demagogia [A lawyer against demagogy] Aitor Guisasola commented on the decree: That means, they are issuing a decree on national security, for example on disinformation, and they determine which regulations they consider necessary to ensure compliance with and development of this decree. That is kafkaesque. They allow themselves to determine whatever they like.”

And the biggest problem that Sánchez has identified for national security in the context of the Covid “pandemic” is “disinformation”. In Chapter 3 the decree states: “Disinformation campaigns have a clear impact on national security and must be differentiated from other factors such as fake news or misinformation. In fact, disinformation campaigns do not necessarily contain fake news, but aim to distort reality through manipulated content. In this sense, the cognitive realm is another space in which to exert influence, in addition to the traditional physical realms: land, sea and air.

“The elements of a disinformation campaign include a will to create confusion and undermine social cohesion, the coordinated use of different media for the creation and distribution of content aimed at a wide audience, and malicious intent to discredit or influence the target of the attack. Disinformation campaigns therefore pose a serious threat to electoral processes. The disinformation strategies of foreign – state and non-state – actors who set up propaganda machines to polarize society and undermine their trust in the institutions are potentially dangerous.”

A total power grab

Guisasola assessed the situation as follows: The executive will be dictating laws whenever they feel like it, and the judiciary has to obey the executive. There is no longer any separation of powers in Spain. How can one have confidence in such institutions? The government determines everything. And that’s why the institutions cannot function properly.”

In its royal decree, the government also stipulated that counter-espionage must be used due to the dangers posed by freedom of expression. And it is also evident that they count on the full support of the EU: “Public-private partnerships, particularly with the media and social media providers, and raising public awareness are key to detecting and addressing disinformation campaigns. The national initiatives are coordinated with existing plans at European level, such as the Action Plan for Disinformation and the European Action Plan for Democracy.”

Guisasola concluded that  the point of the National Security Strategy was to shut down the independent media. “This is what our government is concerned about. It is really overwhelming. Anyone who does not take the government’s line, who thinks differently about what is happening in the world or in Spain, is spreading ‘disinformation’. And the government doesn’t want there to be ‘disinformation’, it wants us all to think the same way – like in China. This is what the government wants […] If we obey, there will be no problem and we must thank our government for letting us eat and live every day. That is the strategy for national security.”

Totalitarian laws against the backdrop of unprecedented vaccine failure

In analyzing the data globally, one Substack author noted that there was “no scientific, rational justification for a continued belief that ‘interventions’ matter”.

“The Experts™ have failed, the media is spreading easily disproven disinformation, and local officials are openly lying to justify policies they desperately want to implement, based on zero evidence whatsoever. Covid policy is a complete disaster; a useless, destructive intrusion on the lives of millions of people, and to anyone paying attention it is blatantly obvious how hopelessly out of their depth politicians and their favored band of credentialed activists actually are.”

France: A group of Egyptians murder a transsexual woman

Three and a half years after the murder of Vanesa Campos, a transgender sex worker killed during a “punitive expedition” in the Bois de Boulogne, nine men will stand trial in the Paris jury court from Tuesday, three of them for the crime.

The investigation soon focused on a group of young men of Egyptian origin who took the opportunity to rob sex workers and their clients, which caused tensions. During the trial, Vanesa Campos’ former colleagues also reported threats and sexual violence, including rape, and a “climate of terror” created by the gang of robbers who had been terrorising in the forest, a stronghold of prostitution in Paris, for several years.

(…) Mahmoud Kadri, 24, is considered by the prosecution to be the mastermind of the fatal shooting of Vanesa Campos. Karim Ibrahim, 29, and Aymen Dib, 25, are also on trial for ” intended murder by a gang “. The former is suspected of attacking the victim with a baton and the latter is suspected of stabbing the victim. “Karim Ibrahim’s lawyers, Julien Fresnault and Fares Aidel, said: “This is not a collective punitive action against Vanesa Campos.
