A Syrian doctor who had his licence revoked in France and was sentenced to four years in prison now practices in the Belgian terrorist stronghold of Molenbeek

The reporters from the RTBF channel have picked up the trail of Farid Alsaïd, a 66-year-old Belgian-Syrian radiologist who was at the centre of a huge medical scandal in France a few years ago. The man, who was convicted by both the French and Belgian judiciary and expelled from the French medical association, is still practising in Belgium, more precisely in Molenbeek.

The machinations of the radiologist had been exposed in 2007 by an article in the newspaper L’Express. An investigation by the DDASS (Direction départementale des affaires sanitaires et sociales) had revealed that there was a lack of hygiene in his various practices near the Belgian border, that breast cancer screening examinations were carried out without authorisation and that social security fraud had occurred.

The French Medical Association therefore sentenced him in February 2008 to a three-year ban from practising medicine, of which two years were suspended. The then Minister of Health, Roselyne Bachelot, appealed against this sentence. No less than 9,000 patients were allegedly put at risk.

In March, the public prosecutor’s office in Valenciennes became interested in his case, but the man fled to Syria. As he was wanted on an international arrest warrant, the man finally returned to France three months later and turned himself in to the police.(…) 7sur7.be
