Krakow is in turmoil. An informal Muslim prayer room (referred to by residents as an informal mosque) has been set up in the Podwawelskie housing estate, causing a huge stir and leading to a loud protest under the slogan “We Defend Europe.” Is this the beginning of the uncontrolled changes Poles returning from France and the UK are warning about? Or perhaps – as the Mayor of Krakow’s plenipotentiary for equality claims – artificially stoking fears?
We took a camera right into the heart of the demonstration, which gathered around 300 people.
