Berlin is struggling to recruit enough police officers because applicants are unable to speak German, according to the force’s president.
Barbara Slowik Meisel revealed that 40 per cent of applicants failed a German language skills test.
Ms Slowik Meisel said the trend, driven by increasing numbers of migrant applications, had created a dilemma for the Berlin police department: it cannot lower its standards but also urgently needs officers.
“We have applicants, but we also have high standards that we cannot lower,” she told RBB, a German broadcaster. “[As police officers] we have to explain our police actions day in and day out … and also possibly document things in writing.”
It’s okay, they’ll just use Google Translate to explain that “she was outside without a hijab so she had it coming” or “synagogue/church was offensive to my religion of killing non-Muslims.”
Of the 240 officer cadets who began their training in spring 2025, 132 required extra German tuition, Berlin police figures show.
I’m sure these folks will faithfully execute German law once they’re given a few tutorials. Let’s see how things are going in the UK.
A serving Metropolitan Police officer is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 27 August 2026 charged with three counts of rape following an investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT).
Mohammad Adil Waheed, aged 23, was arrested on Thursday 4 December 2025 in London. He was subsequently charged on Tuesday 28 July 2026 with three counts of rape relating to alleged off-duty offences involving a woman in July 2025.
Oh but that’s just one Mohammed. Surely there can’t be a pattern.
A police chase on the M62 motorway in West Yorkshire reached speeds of up to 120 MPH as officers tried to intercept a car after the woman inside called the authorities pleading for help.
The unusual car chase ended with the capture and arrest of the police officer at the wheel.
Mohammad Hassan, a trainee on the Greater Manchester Police, was accused of oral rape, kidnap, strangulation, and sexual assault, among other crimes, and his victim was released.
According to the authorities, Hassan had gotten out of “the car, placed his hand on the woman’s neck and ‘bundled her into the car’”, drove her to a location in Manchester, a former English city that had become notorious for its large Muslim enclaves and the sex trafficking and grooming gangs operating there, raped her and then tried to evade police by driving at high speeds.
Get him some English language lessons stat. And a few pamphlets explaining how rape is illegal in the UK. (Until Islamic law is implemented anyway.)
