The 37-year-old stateless Palestinian man, who is alleged to have murdered a 14-year-old boy in Memmingen, Bavaria, may have posted Islamist content on TikTok prior to the crime. In several videos currently circulating on social media, a man believed to be the suspect poses with his index finger extended, in the so-called Tawhid salute. Islamic chants, known as nasheeds, can also be heard in the background of several videos. A Palestinian flag is displayed in the profile description.
The Memmingen public prosecutor’s office declined to comment to the newspaper JUNGEN FREIHEIT on the ongoing investigation. It was unable to either confirm or deny whether the TikTok channel actually belongs to the suspect.
Most of the videos posted online show the alleged suspect exercising at an outdoor sports facility on Saarlandstraße in Memmingen. He is frequently seen practising martial arts techniques such as kicks. One of the videos – although it only shows him doing pull-ups – has the words ‘Free Palestine’ as its thumbnail.

The suspect is alleged to have killed 14-year-old German Jermaine B. on Sunday. Police officers found the lifeless body in the early hours of Monday morning in an empty, dilapidated house. During the search for the perpetrator, they came across the rejected asylum seeker on Monday evening. When they attempted to arrest the man, he lunged at the officers with a knife. A police officer then opened fire and killed the 37-year-old.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was born in Abu Qash, a town in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. However, the authorities were unable to determine the asylum seeker’s nationality. The migrant did not have a passport. For this reason, they granted him temporary leave to remain and did not deport him. Yet the 37-year-old was already known to the police and had previously been convicted twice and fined: recently for unlawful residence and previously for criminal damage.
Catholic AfD politician Nicole Höchst has said that her party is “grounded in the Christian faith and Christian values of Catholic social teaching.”
In an exclusive interview with LifeSiteNews, Höchst discussed whether the Alternative for Germany (AfD) is a Christian party, her view of the Synodal Way of the German Catholic bishops, and her personal faith journey.
Höchst is a member of the German Parliament, or Bundestag, and the AfD’s spokesperson for religious affairs. She is also a practicing Catholic.
Regarding the AfD’s policy positions, Höchst said, “We are, after all, grounded in the Christian faith – specifically, in the Christian values of Catholic social teaching, as one might say – and this is clearly articulated, above all, in our party platform; consequently, we base many of our political positions on this Christian theological foundation. ”
However, many AfD politicians are not practicing Christians, and one of the party’s leaders, Alice Weidel, is in an openly lesbian relationship. Asked about this apparent discrepancy, Höchst said, “For one thing, we’re not a cult, so we’re not some kind of ‘superior’ group compared to the German Church[es]; rather, we’re a cross-section of society as a whole, so to speak, and we practice the tolerance and neighborly love necessary for successful coexistence.”
“Look, I’m not exactly the ideal image of a spokesperson on religious policy either,” she said, noting that she is officially divorced, by law. However, “I haven’t ‘remarried,’ because according to the Catholic faith, marriage lasts until death. I respect that and live accordingly, but in a civil sense, I am divorced, which isn’t ideal either.”
The AfD positions itself as pro-life and pro-family, stating that they want to reduce the number of abortions, support and strengthen the traditional family, and raise birth rates.
While the AfD is being demonized and branded as “right-wing extremist” by the mainstream media and the political establishment, Höchst said that she gets attacked most when she posts Christian content on social media.
”I post a lot – I’m very active on social media – but I get the most death threats when I post in Christian contexts. And that’s something that really unsettled me at first,” she stated.
“Of course, some people don’t like it when someone who’s a member of the AfD posts something Christian, because we’re portrayed as the Antichrist himself,” Höchst added.
Addressing the growing hostility against faithful Christians in her country, she said: “Desecrations of churches have increased, and Christian children are being bullied in schoolyards – so I think there’s already a general decline in Christianity in Germany.”
“For us [the AfD], religious freedom in Germany also means that we’re allowed to openly profess our faith in Christianity,” Höchst said.
Personal faith journey
The AfD politician recalled her own journey back to the Catholic faith: “I was baptized Roman Catholic, of course, and grew up that way, and starting around age 16, the longer I went to school, and the longer I studied [at university], the further I initially drifted away from the Christian faith.”
“Like all the other students, I eventually became secularized and felt superior, and to make a long story short, I had some life-changing experiences where I was very grateful that I could pray to Jesus Christ and to God.”
She said that two of her four children were in intensive care and almost died when they were very little.
She said her firstborn son had “a severe quadruple heart defect” and had to have open-heart surgery “for several hours” when he was only nine months old.
“He survived it. There were several very tense moments afterward as well, and he is still alive today, thank God, in the truest sense of the word.”
“And then my second-born had severe encephalitis. I almost lost my daughter,” she recalled.
“That still affects me deeply. And thankfully, I really, really had that support then.”
“You’re truly left completely exposed, utterly helpless and powerless, and nothing that helps in everyday life can be done there,” she stated. “And when you’re thrown back like that to your very essence, I think you feel much the same as if you were standing before your Creator and could do nothing but humbly ask for help.”
Criticism of the German Synodal Way
Asked about the heretical German Synodal Way, Höchst said, “I believe this [Synodal] Way is [an] effort to found a separate sect with elements that are decidedly not Roman Catholic, such as the ceremonial blessing of same-sex unions” or “ordination of women.”
“And that leads to a schism, in my opinion, if it isn’t already in open schism.”
The heterodox German bishops have distanced themselves from the AfD and frequently criticize the party for being “right-wing extremist” and even “anti-Christian.”
Responding to the criticism that AfD’s use of the term “remigration” would be “extreme,” Höchst said that the party “wants to deport criminals.”
“We want people without valid residence permits to leave this country. And it’s also completely incomprehensible why people known to be Islamists who don’t have German citizenship are still in Germany.”
Referencing the ordo amoris, a theological framework of the “order of love” laid out by saints and Doctors of the Church such as St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, Höchst said that there is “a hierarchy of charity” where one has to take care of their own family and nation first before caring for foreigners.
“And of course, as a Christian, my first duty is to keep my own home and my family in order and safe,” she stated.
“I am not obligated to sacrifice myself, my family, and everything I have,” for the supposed benefits of mass immigration, Höchst explained.
Surrogacy debate
Höchst also addressed the debate around surrogacy, which is currently illegal in Germany. The topic gained media attention when a prominent politician from the Christian Democrats (CDU) had a child via a surrogate, together with his homosexual partner.
“Of course, I take a very critical view of surrogacy,” she said. “I also take a very critical view of the so-called ‘right to a child.’ For me, that doesn’t exist.”
“To me, a child is a gift from God – a being with its own dignity from the very beginning – and this dignity is taken away from this little being, this developing child, when it is turned into a commodity.”
She said that homosexual couples would have to accept that they cannot have children.
“And this tendency to bear one’s own life, one’s own fate, as one’s own cross – that is something the many egomaniacs in Germany have truly lost,” she stated.
“I find the decision to place one’s own lifestyle choices above this divine order of the family to be difficult, if not questionable, and it is also not in accordance with German law.”
Current polls show the AfD could receive around 27 percent of the votes nationally, leading all other parties, including the Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU), who lead the government coalition and are polling at 23 percent.
Nigel Farage leads the field of party leaders in Britain in terms of who the public feels best understands the problems facing the country, a poll released on the eve of local elections in the UK found.
A survey from IPSOS released this week found that 38 per cent of the public believe that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has the best understanding of the issues facing the country.
The Brexit champion was followed by Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch at 33 per cent, Labour Party Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Liberal Democrat Ed Davey at 32 per cent, and Green Party leader Zack Polanski at just 28 per cent. Yet, concerningly for the Prime Minister, 52 per cent of the public said they do not believe that Starmer fully understands Britain’s problems.
Mr Farage was seen as having the right plans for Britain at 28 per cent, followed by Badenoch and Starmer at 24 per cent, Polanski and Davey at 22 per cent and 21 per cent, respectively. Another majority of 55 per cent said they do not believe Prime Minister Starmer has the right plans for the country.
The Reform UK boss also leads the field as the most capable leader at 30 per cent, a strong leader at 35 per cent, someone who shares their values at 25 per cent, and someone who gets the “big decisions right” at 22 per cent.
According to IPSOS, Farage came out on top in seven of the most important qualities considered by voters when choosing a leader, while only trailing significantly in terms of who is seen as the most honest person, with Ed Davey leading the way at 32 per cent, Badenoch at 26 per cent, Polanski and Starmer at 24 per cent, and Farage at 20. While 55 per cent said they did not believe Farage was honest, 52 per cent said the same of Prime Minsiter Starmer.
Meanwhile, separate polling from YouGov found that Farage’s Reform UK continues to hold a commanding lead in overall Westminster voting intention at 25 per cent, compared to Labour at 18 per cent, the Tories at 17 per cent, the Greens at 15 per cent, Restore at four per cent, the Scottish National Party (SNP) at three per cent, the Welsh Plaid Cymru at one per cent, and Jeremy Corbyn’s Your Party at zero per cent.
Reform’s lead was even more stark in a survey from Deltapoll for the Daily Mirror newspaper. According to the poll, Reform currently has the support of 29 per cent of the public, compared to Labour at 21 per cent, the Tories at 19 per cent, and the Greens at 12 per cent.
Mr Farage has cast the election as a referendum on Prime Minister Starmer’s leadership, with Thursday’s elections being the first chance most voters have had a chance to weigh in on the government’s performance since Labour came to power just over two years ago.
At a final campaign rally on Tuesday in Wales, the Reform leader accused the Labour Party of abandoning its working-class roots in favour of metropolitan elites and those living off the state, saying: “This is not a Labour party. It’s a welfare party.”
“I chose to come here this evening for my last big speech of the campaign rally because what is about to happen here is that the party that has been able to take Wales for granted for over a 100 years, on Thursday will deservedly get smashed to smithereens by the electorate.”
While the local Welsh government has long been in the hands of the Labour Party, a series of mistakes by the Starmer government, including nearly allowing the Chinese to shut down the UK’s largest steelworks in Port Talbot, have seen their support in the country erode, leaving room for a potential victory by Reform.
Overall, Reform is projected to win around 1,500 council seats across the UK on Thursday, in what the party hopes will provide a springboard base to launch a campaign to confront the Westminster establishment and take control of Downing Street.
The Islamisation of Vienna’s public school system is progressing rapidly.
Latest numbers from the city’s education authority – published today by newspaper Die Presse – show that Muslims now make up 42 per cent of the 114,000 pupils in Vienna’s state schools.
The main other groups are children without a religious affiliation (23 per cent), Catholics (17 per cent) and Orthodox Christians (14 per cent).
In public, middle and polytechnical schools almost half the students (49 per cent) adhere to Islam. These are schools for children aged 10 to 15 who typically learn a trade after school.
In public primary schools for kids aged six to 10, Muslims account for 39 per cent of all students.
Integration expert Kenan Güngör said the proportion of Muslims in Austria had risen especially rapidly since 2015 when large-scale immigration from Arab countries and other Muslim countries to Austria started:
“This is having an impact on schools – because the birth rate is higher among immigrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and similar places,” he said.
Güngör added that, while in the past most Muslims in Austria were of Turkish origin, the recent wave of immigration has brought a shift towards Arab Muslims.
This has led to a change in Muslim attitudes: “In Turkey, there was a traditional form of everyday Islam that allowed for much greater diversity. This is not the case with Arab Islam. Arab Islam is more homogeneous, more fixated on the Quran, and consequently more rigid and radical.
“This also has an impact on how Islam is practised by the pupils in Vienna. This is because this understanding of Islam goes hand in hand with significantly more traditional values and gender roles for women.”
Austrian newspapers regularly report on non-Muslim students being bullied by their Islamist classmates, in some cases allegedly being forced to wear Muslim niqabs to escape victimisation.
Most immigrants from Muslim countries choose to settle in Vienna – where generous social welfare policies act like a magnet for mostly poorly qualified and unemployed immigrants.
In May 2025, the case of a Syrian family of 13 in Vienna who received €9,000 in (tax-free) welfare per month made headlines. The news caused a wave of anger as a regular family with working parents and 11 children could never receive even close to this amount.
In 2025, the City of Vienna spent more than €1.2 billion on welfare payments, most of which (67 per cent) was paid out to non-Austrians.
Until recently, the visible consequences of Pedro Sánchez’ reckless and criminal mass regularisation had been mostly limited to enormous queues and gridlock in all public immigration offices. In these queues, repeated in every city, numerous riots and fights have broken out, while officials complain that they lack the resources to process paperwork properly, and an extensive network of NGOs has become government collaborators in issuing ‘vulnerability certificates.’ But now, in addition, a wave of stabbings has swept across different parts of Spain over 48 hours, leaving a provisional toll of three homicides and several wounded.
This past Saturday, around 11:00 a.m., a Moroccan man repeatedly stabbed and slit the throat of a girl about 16 years old after attacking several neighbours with knives and stones. The assailant shouted “Allahu Akbar” and walked freely for more than half an hour until he was arrested by the Mossos d’Esquadra on Diagonal Avenue in Barcelona. Neighbours reported that the assailant had been in the neighbourhood for several days exhibiting nervous and aggressive behaviour.
Initially, the mainstream press claimed it was a case of gender-based violence against a woman. As soon as it was established that the assailant was North African, the victim a girl, and that he invoked the name of Allah, the police sealed the assailant’s identity, and the story ceased to be of interest to media outlets aligned with the government. Public television dedicated barely a couple of minutes to the crime, and at no point was it treated as a jihadist attack.
The girl, who was taking a peaceful walk in broad daylight, bled to death in the arms of a neighbour who tried to help her while waiting for the ambulance. It is also scandalous that, despite the knife-wielding assailant having killed one person and injured several others, the Catalan police pursued him for several minutes without shooting him, risking further attacks and further victims.
That same Saturday evening, an unaccompanied foreign minor (MENA) stabbed a man to death in the centre of Barcelona. Furthermore, numerous residents are reporting a new increase in robberies and assaults in recent days in the Raval neighbourhood of Barcelona—a lawless neighbourhood teeming with immigrants, where attempted robberies, assaults, and sexual assaults against women by Africans are well-known to the police. On Sunday afternoon, again in broad daylight, a man stabbed another man outside a bar in downtown Barcelona. Police have refused to release the nationalities of the two men involved, which is standard practice when immigrants are involved.
In addition, a fourth stabbing occurred in Catalonia that same weekend: on Friday afternoon, a group of young people engaged in a knife fight at the April Fair in Tarragona. According to local reports, the incident began after the victim, a man of North African origin, allegedly tried to rob them at the festival. And at dawn on Monday, a shooting occurred in the street in the Barcelona metropolitan area, outside an illegal after-hours pub. Although no injuries have been reported, several of those involved in the shooting are Dominican.
All of this happened while Spaniards were still reeling from the events of April 27, when a 25-year-old Moroccan man carried out three attempted robberies in Almería in a matter of minutes, attacking his victims with a large knife. Among them was a 17-year-old girl who tried to flee but was knocked down, dragged by her hair, repeatedly kicked, and stabbed in the thigh. During his escape, the assailant had time to kick another woman who was waiting on her motorcycle at a red light. In Almería, the Unified Police Union has denounced several pro-immigrant organisations that collaborate with the government on the regularization process for issuing ‘vulnerability certificates’ without any verification, in exchange for fees ranging between 80 and 100 euros.
On April 23, Spain’s new multicultural normal brought another scene of terror to Palma de Mallorca, where a fight following a robbery left several injured and arrested, all of Romanian, Bolivian, and Moroccan origin. That same day, also in Palma, two illegal immigrants of Algerian origin were arrested for the violent robbery of two delivery women; both had arrived in Spain illegally by boat less than a year earlier. Completing the grim chronicle of mid-April was the news of the arrest in Barcelona of an immigrant for raping and attempting to murder a woman he had deceived through a dating app, as well as a large brawl in a Valencia neighbourhood in which six young immigrants were arrested, two of them undocumented. All of them had extensive criminal records.
And moments before finishing this report, in Valencia, on Monday afternoon, a Colombian immigrant stabbed a man to death in a barbershop.
Meanwhile, as revealed by Ok Diario, Sánchez’s PSOE is encouraging undocumented immigrants to request receipts for their supermarket purchases made before 2026, thus instructing them how to use this to prove their presence in Spain before January 1 of this year and qualify for regularisation. This tactic, according to a video obtained by the Spanish newspaper, was explained by a Socialist MP last Tuesday during an informational session on regularization in Madrid.
Although it is not possible to corroborate this with data at this time, the start of the regularisation process is resulting in an unprecedented, subjective increase in the number of immigrants on the streets in every city. There are countless testimonies on social media explaining that their neighbourhoods have suddenly filled with Moroccans and other Africans, leading them to suspect that the regularization process has created an almost immediate pull factor and that not only those already in Spain will take advantage of it, but also others who have managed to enter in recent weeks to find some loophole to falsely prove their presence in the country before January 1.
Finally, this Monday, the situation surrounding the regularization plan that has outraged Spaniards was illustrated in several TikTok videos, in which young Latinas dance sensually, laugh, and shout with joy while holding their vulnerability certificates. Twitter users have identified the Instagram account of one of them, revealing a lifestyle of luxury that has not prevented the Spanish government from granting her the certificate of ‘vulnerable person,’ which now allows her to join the more than 3.5 million citizens who receive the Minimum Vital Income—between 700 and 1,600 euros a month, paid by Spanish taxpayers.
The only party openly opposing Pedro Sánchez’s disastrous immigration policies is VOX, which has also included the so-called national priority in its regional agreements with the PP. This principle is intended to ensure that Spaniards have priority over foreigners when it comes to access to social assistance and housing. While the PP accepted this agreement where it needed VOX’s support to govern, in the context of the Andalusian election campaign, the PP candidate distanced himself from the national priority this week and instead promised “integration and social advancement” programmes for immigrants.
Three out of four tuberculosis patients in Germany were born abroad, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute as of March 1, 2026. This information was released in response to a parliamentary question from Alternative for Germany (AfD) MP Martin Sichert.
In 2025, a total of 4,070 cases were reported, with 3,036 of those involving individuals born in a foreign country, which represents 74.6 percent of all cases. Furthermore, 2,718 cases involved a combination of a foreign country of birth and a foreign nationality, reported Nius news outlet.
This has been an ongoing issue for years. In 2015, the rate of tuberculosis patients with a foreign background was 70 percent, and by 2023, it reached 75.6 percent. The figure has remained above 69.8 percent since 2015 and has consistently exceeded 74 percent since 2022.
It is also unclear how many of the other approximately 25 percent are German citizens with a foreign background.
However, this is far from the only disease suffered by high rates of foreigners.
Here’s what the RKI and related data show on diseases in Germany where foreigners or people born abroad are heavily overrepresented:
Diphtheria: Virtually 100% linked to refugees and migrants in recent outbreaks
As of March 2023, at least 167 confirmed cases among recently arrived refugees had been reported to the RKI. The outbreak continued through 2025, with 125 confirmed cases in Germany within a single strain cluster alone — the vast majority linked to newly arrived migrants.
Hepatitis B: Over half of infections among migrants
An RKI-affiliated study estimated that more than half of hepatitis B-infected individuals in Germany were migrants. The RKI’s 2022 annual report noted a significant increase in reported hepatitis B and C cases.
HIV: Significant share linked to migration
The number of new HIV diagnoses reported in Germany rose significantly in 2022, primarily due to Ukrainian refugees entering the country. Neighboring countries like Poland have also suffered from soaring HIV rates, tripling in five years due to Ukrainian migration.
From scandal to crisis and back, failing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer keeps dragging himself through the motions of a pretend leadership – always involved in the most pointless summits and meetings.
But tomorrow (7), something may fundamentally change.
As British voters cast ballots in local elections, they could be sealing the end of Starmer’s premiership.
🚨Keir Starmer is heading for a historic meltdown: potentially the worst council election losses for any sitting UK government in modern history.
“Starmer’s center-left Labour Party is expected to take a battering in elections for local authorities across England and for semiautonomous legislatures in Scotland and Wales.
With the prime minister’s popularity in the doldrums from a weak economy and repeated questions about his judgment, rival parties are framing Thursday’s votes as a referendum on Starmer and his 2-year-old government. ‘Vote Reform, Get Starmer Out’ is the campaign slogan of the hard-right party Reform UK.”
City Editor at CityAM Simon Hunt weighs in on government borrowing costs hitting their highest levels since 1998 amid speculation of Keir Starmer’s future as PM. pic.twitter.com/C2AEIOFUDK
Dan Hodges says Starmer will cling on to power for as long as he can and that Angela Rayner's leadership hopes are fading and the time to move against Starmer has gone.
Britain’s next national election is set for 2029, but there are widespread concerns that the magnitude of Labour’s defeat tomorrow may throw the party into disarray.
“Less than two years after winning a landslide election victory, ‘Keir Starmer has become a vessel for people’s disappointment (and) disillusionment’, said Luke Tryl of pollster More in Common.
Starmer’s popularity has plunged after repeated missteps since he became prime minister in July 2024. His government has struggled to deliver promised economic growth, repair tattered public services and ease the cost of living.”
"They just have a visceral dislike of Keir Starmer"
"I've absolutely picked that up on the doorstep"

Church of Montenach, France. Built between 1884 and 1886, it survived two world wars and was devastated by a fire on Sunday.
The numbers, cold as gravestones, speak clearly: dozens of churches are destroyed by fire every year, while other places of worship enjoy an inexplicable immunity. These are not meteorological accidents or random electrical faults. It is a pattern that challenges our ability to name reality without euphemisms.
The elites in Paris and Brussels, barricaded in their intellectual salons, prefer not to see, but the citizen smells the acrid odor of a planned dissolution.
According to the Observatory for Religious Heritage, founded in 2006 to safeguard France’s religious patrimony, in 2023, 27 churches were burned. In 2024, there were 26 church fires. Data for 2025 will be published in May or June.
Churches and synagogues burn, mosques do not.
In Quebec, three churches were burned in three weeks.
Meanwhile, in Barcelona, a young woman was brutally stabbed to death while the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” on a crowded street in Esplugues de Llobregat. Spanish socialist prime minister Pedro Sánchez has granted citizenship to 500,000 people, so we should expect more scenes resembling civil war in the streets.
Then more stabbings in Barcelona in the same hours.
If you have not read this news in major newspapers, ask yourself whether “freedom of the press” really exists and whether mainstream journalism is worth saving.
Those stabbed to death in Barcelona did not deserve even a single line in newspapers: they are not media figures like the spoiled Western children who boarded yet another flotilla for Gaza (and for Hamas).
Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, in Loosdrecht, on the shores of the lake of the same name, in a town only slightly larger than Montenach, a popular revolt broke out after the municipal building was requisitioned to house about a hundred young African men.
Women are on the front line in the battle “for the safety of their daughters.” Loosdrecht, about thirty kilometers south of Amsterdam, has seen its town hall designated to host young African males. The name Lisa was on everyone’s lips: this 17-year-old girl murdered last summer while cycling home in a village near Amsterdam. A Nigerian asylum seeker, housed in a reception center, confessed to the murder as well as to rape.
Every civilized society has regulated access to female space with rituals, taboos, and boundaries. Tearing them down in the name of “diversity” means inviting chaos. And that is exactly what we are doing. Congratulations!
The women of Loosdrecht know this without needing sociological roundtables. They know that forced mixing between local teenagers and Africans generates violence, not harmony. And they say it openly, without asking permission from the guardians of orthodoxy.
This Dutch village, nestled among the waters of the lake, is no longer an idyll of canals and green fields: it has become the stage of a revolt that Europe’s comfortable salons would like to label as obscurantism, but which instead reveals the naked anthropological truth of every human community.
Elites may continue to lecture about “diversity,” but ordinary citizens, those who pay taxes and live in reality, remember a basic truth: a society works when those who arrive accept that they must conform to the existing pact and not demand to overturn it.
A civilization dies not only through external conquest, but when it stops loving itself.
That is why I am proud of these people who protest. Because they want to protect themselves and their families. They are the “common man” to whom I dedicated the last chapter of my new book, “Titanic Europe”.
Because only those who dare to name reality can still hope to save it.
Peripheral Europe is not dead yet. And it warms the heart to see it rebel against a predetermined fate. Whether it can still save Europe remains to be seen. One must hope so, or all that will be left is to pack our bags, as English Jews are doing at this very moment.
A Labour-run council in Scotland will soon be opening a temporary accommodation site which could be used to house homeless migrants, despite being less than a five-minute walk from a primary school.
The City of Edinburgh Council has proposed to transform the defunct Northfield House Hotel as a building to tackle homelessness in the Scottish capital.

Located in the leafy suburb of Gilmerton, the new accommodation is projected to have 100 self-contained flats which will be used to house homeless people, who are mainly single males, The Telegraph reports.
The local authority has insisted the building will not be used to house asylum seekers.
However, in accordance with legal obligations local authorities are subject to, people who have been granted asylum could be housed there.
Scottish policy states if “you have settled status or indefinite leave to remain” or “you’ve been granted refugee status or humanitarian protection”, you “have the right to homeless help”, according to Shelter Scotland.
Refugee homeless households rose from 1,955 to 3,020 between April to September 2024 and the same period in 2025 – a 54 per cent increase year-on-year, according to the Scottish Government.
This makes up of 16 per cent of all homelessness applications in Scotland.
In January, Ian Murray MSP for Edinburgh South took to social media to inform his constituents on the development, advising the accommodation will be for people “classed as homeless”.
He wrote on Facebook: “The Council will take over ownership of the building on completion to provide accommodation for people who are officially classed as homeless.”
Mr Murray continued, writing the accommodation “will not be used” to “house people who are seeking asylum”.
“They have also said that the site will NOT be used as a secure residential unit to house prisoners or young offenders; a custody or short-term holding centre; or accommodation to house people who are seeking asylum, a matter which is managed by the Home Office, not local councils.”
He continued: “The council has assured me there will be at least 2 members of staff onsite 24/7, 365 days a year.
“They plan to hold an open day prior to opening so that local residents can meet the staff and ask any questions they may have.”
The accommodation is expected to open at the end of May.
Residents in the area have voiced their concerns for the accommodation, particularly due to its close proximity to schools and nurseries in the area.
Carebears Children’s Nursery is 262ft away from the building, Little Learners Nursery is 0.2 miles away, as well as Kaimes Special School and Gracemount Primary.
Slightly further away, within a 0.3-mile radius of the temporary accommodation, are St Catherine’s Primary School and Gracemount High School.
When the council applied for the building to be temporary housing for homeless people, 93 per cent of those who commented said they did not want the proposal to go ahead.
One resident weighed in on the debate that sparked in the comments section of Mr Murray’s Facebook post, writing: “I absolutely don’t like this idea as I have to commute at strange times directly across the road.
“Super unhappy about the fact that there is a need to mention that there will be security guards on site at all times.”
Another person commented: “Having security guards is useless. They can only manage what happens inside the building – there is no way for them to control what happens outside.”
After the Scottish National Party ditched rules which meant individuals had to have a “local connection” to the place where they want to be housed, councils are having to provide more temporary accommodation to asylum seekers.
The legislation, passed in November 2022, meant that councils could not refer a homeless applicant to another council on the basis that they did not have a connection to their area.
An Edinburgh council spokesman said: “This temporary accommodation is one of the many actions we’re taking to tackle our housing emergency in Edinburgh.
“To be absolutely clear, this site will not be used to house people awaiting a decision on their asylum status – this is a matter managed by the Home Office, not the Council.
“Everyone placed there will have presented as homeless in Edinburgh, received a full homeless assessment, and are entitled to council services and support.”
The battle lines for the preservation of Western civilization were drawn long before the murder of the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh in 2004. The double-dealing actions of many European leaders have been endlessly on display for all to see.
Now, both the US and Israel — in their quest to stop the indefatigable enemies of the West and maintain free trade, democracy, and military deterrence against these predators — may have found themselves thwarted. By whom? By their “allies,” no less: Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
These nations, along with Norway, Denmark, Slovenia and Canada, have imposed sanctions, restrictions, and punitive measures of various sorts against Israel during its efforts to defend itself — and them! — against enemies of civilization and the West. The threat, with ballistic missiles, was to come from Iran, about to achieve nuclear weapons capability in two weeks or less, as well as from the regime’s proxy jihadist forces, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
Similar measures, designed to frustrate the Israel-America coalition against an openly predatory Iran, seem to have arisen from two main sources. The first has been the anti-democratic influence of Islam in the domestic affairs of Western Europe; the second, from a deep-seated anti-Semitic doctrine in Europe, now more present than ever – and being strongly reinforced.
Jews have been unwelcome wherever they were since the time of the Pharaohs 4,000 years ago. Jews have been expelled by the Babylonians in 597 BCE, the Romans in 136 CE, the English in 1290, the French in 1306, and the Spanish in 1492.
Since the atrocities of the Holocaust in the 1940s, when Germany sent Jews to camps to be tortured, starved and murdered, hatred of the Jews seemed to have lain dormant.
Not for long.
Now, Jew-hate in the West — thanks to a widespread alliance between neo-Marxists, climate activists and Islamist propagandists – has once again become unashamedly “normalized” and mainstreamed — even, in some quarters, quite popular.
Discord between Western allies — ostensibly due to contrasting views towards Islam and Israel — has recently escalated to a new height. Its core most likely consists of a deep-seated envy that a handful of scruffy, hunted people managed to transform a land of sand dunes, deserts and malarial swamps into a gleaming superpower — all while defending themselves against unrelenting neighboring countries trying to snuff them out. Such an achievement must, of course, be punished. First, the Western alliance of 40 nations imposed sanctions on Israel while it was defending not only its own existence but theirs as well. These were immediately followed by revived demands to establish a belligerent Palestinian state directly on Israel’s border, despite Palestinians themselves having rejected the offer of both a Palestinian state and a “two-state solution” six times in favor of a one-state solution “from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea”: all of Israel.
The purpose of these nations was apparently to benefit an ostensible “people” who not only admit to having been “invented, ” but who for decades have been unabashedly committed to annihilating Israel. As proposed by the US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee:
“If France is really so determined to see a Palestinian state, I have a suggestion for them — carve out a piece of the French Riviera and create a Palestinian state. They are welcome to do that, but they are not welcome to impose that kind of pressure on a sovereign nation.”
In March, US President Donald J. Trump, planning his joint effort with Israel to terminate Iran’s nuclear program, made a request of US allies. He did not ask Europe for troops or even weapons. He merely asked if US airplanes could fly over their airspace or for use of military bases, which the US has not only been funding to protect – take a guess: Europe – but some of which, such as the base on Diego Garcia it actually co-owns with the United Kingdom. After earlier refusals by Europe and Canada to help with the war — a move that would have been in their own interests — his requests were denied.
Iran, it turned out, indeed possesses ballistic missiles capable of reaching deep into Europe, yet European nations remained unperturbed.
These European nations, endeavoring to claim the high moral ground by appealing to “international law” and vaunted human rights, voiced their intention not to become embroiled, either actively or passively, in America and Israel’s purportedly illegal operation, despite the US having become “embroiled” in their threats from Russia. Trump then expressed his displeasure by pulling 5,000 US troops out of Germany, and is weighing removing more troops from Italy and Spain.
The detachment from reality of Europe’s craven leaders also extends to ignoring not only Iran’s diabolical treatment of its own citizens, but also the murderous attacks it has carried out against innocent Jews and others worldwide.
Meanwhile, Iran and its jihadist proxies appear innocent of the Western “infidel” concepts of just wars, international laws, human rights or the Geneva conventions. They are mainly directed, it seems, by medieval Sharia law.
Since World War II, the US has been the backbone of NATO, while Europe has parasitically fed off America to jump to its defense. Instead of developing military preparedness, Europeans have, for years, reduced their forces in favor of funding, in addition to their own citizens, millions of newcomers who are not shy about saying how much they loathe their new domiciles, and destroying their economies by adopting “green energy,” such as wind turbines, which they were warned could never work. Without the burden of building functioning militaries, at first their economies prospered enormously – at America’s expense. They have now been exposed as “paper tigers,” while Russia is in the midst of trying to seize Crimea and Ukraine.
Europe as a whole has an enormous economy — $32 trillion, the same size as America’s. Together, they are the world’s two largest economies. Their members can afford significant military spending, and Trump has been requesting it.
In fairness, however, after Europe began two world wars in the last century, there did not seem to be a great appetite for Europe — read Germany — to be able to try that again.
In addition, NATO is constituted, presumably deliberately, as a defensive alliance, not an offensive one. The reluctance of NATO members to participate in the Iran campaign as part of a NATO team is therefore somewhat understandable. Even so, there is no reason for them not to participate individually, outside the NATO umbrella – as the US has been doing, especially in providing the use of military bases and flyover rights.
Trump, again, did not withhold his thoughts:
“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the US, we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just take it. You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us.”
Without America, Europe is lost – as it was in both World Wars.
In the circumstances, due to the fast growth of Islamic power in Europe, it might be wise for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his equally hapless – when not harmful — counterpart in France, President Emmanuel Macron, to relocate their nuclear weapons to US territory.
Islam has begun dominating the continent with mosques, Sharia courts, Islamic schools, halal food supply — and electing radicals to influential political positions at local or council levels as well as on national platforms.
“Leadership in times of crisis,” it has been said, “is not measured by the absence of risk, but by the willingness to accept it.” In avoiding risk, the cowardly leaders of Western Europe – those sell-outs to an increasingly antagonistic extremist Muslim electorate upon whom they are increasingly dependent for political office — are a disgrace to their nations. They are also a great disappointment to those who believe in the preservation of history’s finest civilization – one with freedom, democracy, human rights, and an embedded Judeo-Christian moral foundation.
These leaders seemingly reject any obligation to oppose attempts to destroy their nations’ traditional way of life. In the tradition of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who in 1938 imagined that he had a peace deal with Hitler, they have taken on a greater risk: that of appeasement.
European nations, it appears, have succumbed to Islamization. Their rapidly changing demographics reveal it; their failure to adequately protect their small Jewish communities against vociferous hate reveal it; their compromise on basic individual freedoms in their own countries reveal it, and their refusals to support the US, their erstwhile protector, reveal it.
Islamic extremists must feel immensely emboldened in their imperialist endeavors to colonize Europe.
The fecklessness of these weak leaders who turn their backs on efforts by the US and Israel to save the West has been fully exposed. The ultimate intent of Islamization, seemingly, is to dismantle Western civilization and impose a worldwide Islamic caliphate under Sharia law — as has been successfully achieved in Turkey, formerly the great Christian Byzantine Empire, as well as much of North Africa and central and south Asia.
In the UK, this process of Islamification has borne much fruit: Islam has become a dominant culture. Examples abound: the failure adequately to deal with the long-term mass sexual abuse of hundreds of thousands of English children, and the increasing arrests of British citizens who, either online or in person, criticize the UK’s staggering cultural erosion.
Demographically, Britain is now a nation where the most popular name for baby boys, for 16 years running, is Mohammed (in its various spellings). Britain is a nation where Islamist extremists have been a primary criminal concern; where social cohesion is fractured, and where the “old world” will shortly be replaced by a culture not just free of Judeo-Christian values but that is adversarial to them.
Welcome to the new Europe. Its antagonists are inside the gate — without firing a single shot.
