The media and institutions repeatedly tell us about the success of feminist policies in the West, policies that, according to their advocates, have made women freer and more empowered than ever before. Is this true? Is today’s world more favorable to women, as feminists claim? That is the question that the report “Women and the West—Liberty, Tyranny and True Liberal Values” by Meaghan Mobbs, director of CASS, and Mallory Jammullamudy of the Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security (CASS), an organization dedicated to national security and foreign policy issues—focusing on the role of women in these areas—has attempted to answer.

“The fate of women has always been a measure of a civilization’s moral strength and institutional integrity,” the report states.  Based on this assertion, it analyzes the situation of women in the West—and its conclusions are not exactly favorable to the feminist narrative. Progressive policies have led to increasingly tyrannical ‘tolerance’ in which freedom is stifled by political correctness, values are replaced by moral relativism that opens the door to beliefs that seek to destroy the West, and ‘tolerance’ is used as justification for censorship of free speech. As the report states, “When tolerance is divorced from truth and inclusivity is prioritized over integrity, it is women who too often pay the price.”

Disconnecting from the truth only leads to lies, and that is the modus operandi that many governments have followed in an attempt to hide, suppress, or manipulate data on crime or sexual violence perpetrated against women when that violence is carried out by migrants in order to discourage public debate on demographic and security risks, and even to criminalize discourse that questions official narratives as hate speech. One of the most striking examples of manipulation in the report concerns the publication of the FBI’s annual crime data for the country, which, according to the Biden administration, showed an estimated 1.7% decrease in violent crime in 2022. However, a subsequent review showed that there had actually been a 4.5% increase and that the initial publication had ‘overlooked’ 80,029 violent crimes, including 1,699 murders and 7,780 rapes.

Data that is inconvenient for the official narrative is disguised or outright suppressed, which, as the report points out, contributes to a widespread decline in trust in the media and institutions. This is the case in the United Kingdom, where, in 2024, foreigners were three times more likely to be arrested for sex crimes than British citizens, or in Sweden, where almost two-thirds of convicted rapists are migrants or foreign-born.

The response of those who refuse to accept reality ranges from ‘suicidal empathy’—a distortion of liberalism in which unlimited tolerance undermines women’s rights—to cancel culture, hate crime, or denial. “When women say they feel unsafe walking home but are told by official figures that crime is down, when mothers worry about their daughters in locker rooms and are accused of bigotry for doing so, when female academics raise questions about sex-based rights and face career-ending retribution—these are not fringe anecdotes. They are the symptoms of a society in denial.”

The report also ranks countries according to the situation of women. At the bottom of the list—the worst countries for women—are Afghanistan, Yemen, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Sudan. Despite receiving billions in foreign aid, these countries are plagued by anarchy, tribalism, and utter moral collapse. “Aid is not a substitute for Civilization … Humanitarian aid cannot compensate for the lack of legitimate governance, moral norms, or civic responsibility. In fact, chronic dependency on foreign aid often breeds corruption, passivity, and black-market exploitation.”

On the contrary, the Nordic countries occupy three of the top five spots on the list: Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Luxembourg. However, Sweden is a good example of the danger posed by open-door immigration policies. Considered a model of tolerance and progressivism, Sweden has shifted to the right in response to the massive influx of asylum seekers, which doubled from 81,301 applications in 2014 to 163,000 in 2016. Serious problems with integration and crime have exposed the danger of naive, feel-good policies and have had a profound impact on Swedish society, which explains the political shift: 

For the first time in over 50 years, Sweden now has net emigration since implementing strict reforms to limit migration into the country in an effort to crack down on the rise in crime from open border policies. Denmark and Sweden may be able to maintain their status at the top of the Index, but it has required a dramatic shift in social attitudes toward commonly progressive policies—like open borders—to maintain their stability. 

And the United States? The leading Western power ranks 37th out of 177. As in Europe, there has been an increase in violent crime rates and insecurity, as well as mistrust of law enforcement agencies: “Many U.S. cities have pursued policies that weaken law enforcement, incentivize lawlessness, and abandon victims, particularly women and children.” Added to this are the problems caused by the instability of the family model; according to the report, the data leaves no room for doubt: family breakdown has a greater negative impact on women. “Women are more likely to experience poverty, burnout, and social vulnerability when the family unit collapses. In many communities across the United States, the breakdown of marriage and the rise of fatherlessness have created cycles of instability and generational hardship.”

Aseparate issue is the effect of woke and identity politics, which have had the effect of making American women more vulnerable: “Radical gender ideology has eroded the legal and cultural boundaries that once protected women. From allowing biological males in women’s sports and prisons to erasing sex-based data collection.”

The change of government, with the arrival of Donald Trump and his decrees against woke ideology, opens a new period in the United States, which is currently at a crossroads; 

its wealth and freedoms are tempered by rising insecurity, family fragmentation, and cultural disorientation—challenges that mirror Europe’s own struggles with unchecked migration, antisemitic surges, free speech curtailments, and the distortions of radical inclusivity … True progress for women lies in reclaiming the moral clarity that distinguishes liberal democracies: affirming that not all cultures or ideologies are equal in their respect for human dignity, and that women’s security is non-negotiable.

“Strength sustains freedom, and freedom safeguards women.” To protect women, the West must be free and strong. The report highlights the following imperatives for achieving a world in which women are not mere survivors but architects of prosperous societies: defend free expression unyieldingly; enforce borders and integrate with integrity; reaffirm moral clarity and biological reality; foster transatlantic solidarity and institutional renewal; and unabashedly support women’s rights and equality: 

What makes the West exceptional is not perfection. It is the freedom to confront imperfection. If we abandon that freedom—if we shame, silence, or prosecute those who highlight the cracks—then we will have forfeited the very principles that made our civilization a beacon for women across the world. 

As the report warns, what is at stake is being faithful to the values that have made us who we are. Otherwise, we will cease to be the West. The alternative is a much darker world.

Former Federal Minister for Family Affairs Kristina Schröder (CDU) warned of a catastrophe in connection with the blackout in south-west Berlin: ‘35,000 households without electricity for five days will foreseeably result in hundreds to thousands of fatalities!’ she wrote on X. Following the arson attack by left-wing extremists on a cable bridge, tens of thousands of households will remain without power until at least Thursday.

It is still unclear how many people live in the flats and houses. Estimates range from 65,000 to 100,000. The blackout coincides with deep frost and up to ten centimetres of fresh snow. On Saturday, it snowed heavily in the area throughout the day. Temperatures remain below freezing, dropping to minus six degrees on Saturday night.

Some households were able to have their electricity restored more quickly. According to Stromnetz Berlin, 7,000 households and 150 commercial customers in parts of the Lichterfelde district had their power restored during the night. However, 3,000 homes there are still without power.

According to the state-owned company, at least 37,400 of the original 44,400 affected customers are still without electricity. And with freezing temperatures forecast to continue, this situation is expected to remain unchanged until at least Thursday. Repair work following the attack is expected to take that long. This could have devastating consequences for residents of the Zehlendorf, Nikolaussee, Wannsee and parts of Lichterfelde districts. Temperatures in Berlin are not expected to rise above freezing until Friday.
In an interview with the weekly newspaper JUNGE FREIHEIT, residents fear that looting could occur if they leave their homes and leave them in complete darkness. This is because alarm systems are also no longer working. Lichterfelde is also home to the so-called Thermometer Estate – a conurbation with numerous high-rise buildings.

A resident in the directly adjacent single-family home area said that a problematic clientele lived there, including numerous young men who came from Arab countries. No one knew how they would react to the situation. He and some of his neighbours feared the worst, he said. The emergency shelters that had been set up were therefore not an alternative. Like many others, he wanted to stay and guard his own home.
Former minister Schröder called on the Berlin authorities to knock on the doors of every affected household in Berlin by today, Sunday, at the latest, to ask ‘what help is needed’. If there were not enough personnel available, she said, consideration should be given to calling in the German Armed Forces. Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) has not yet visited the affected areas. Only Economics Minister Franziska Giffey (SPD) was on site on Saturday.

Due to the power and heating failure at sub-zero temperatures, it is also possible that water pipes could burst. This means that many homes could remain uninhabitable even after the power failure. A self-proclaimed civil defence expert who calls himself “X Cat” on X points out to the residents that they have a ‘so-called duty to minimise damage’ with regard to possible damage.

According to this, policyholders must check the buildings, ‘shut off water pipes or drain pipes and seek help, for example from an emergency service, the property management company or the owner’. He warns: ‘If a water pipe bursts simply because nothing was done despite the foreseeable frost, the insurance company can reduce or completely refuse payment.’

The left-wing extremist organisation ‘Vulkangruppe’, notorious for years for attacks on critical infrastructure, has since claimed responsibility for the arson attack on the cable bridge that caused the blackout. Their “sympathy” for homeowners in affluent neighbourhoods is ‘limited’, according to their letter of confession.

An award-winning NHS nurse has been struck off after sharing anti-immigrant posts online saying that ‘foreigners’ who come to Britain will end up ‘being your rulers’.

Roberta Batchelor was stripped of her licence after a disciplinary panel concluded a series of her social media posts ‘sought to cause offence to immigrants…and those of Muslim faith’.

She bizarrely claimed to have been acting out of anger over the Labour government’s cuts to winter fuel allowance and was ‘caught up in all the unrest in the country’.

It proved an ignominious end to a career spanning 40 years at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which had seen Mrs Batchelor work her way up from a cleaner to managing a ward.

In 2015, she won a ‘pride of nursing’ award in Birmingham. 

The senior nurse was also regularly trotted out by the hospital to speak about her work in interviews, including a 13-minute Instagram video posted on the trust’s account in which she celebrated diversity. It has since been deleted.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) heard Mrs Batchelor’s anti-immigrant posts began in August 2024 and included sharing an image of Arab men chasing a child with a knife.

Its caption said:  ‘Next time when you pay your taxes, remember that some of your money goes to the “protection of Mosques”.’

Another post included a split image showing a boat filled with people arriving at the beach captioned ‘these give nothing and get everything’ and a homeless veteran captioned ‘these give everything and get nothing’.

A third post claimed to highlight a section of the Bible, stating: ‘Foreigners who live in your land will gain more and more power, while you gradually lose yours.’

It continued: ‘They will have money to lend you, but you will have none to lend them. In the end they will be your rulers.’

Her final social media post had a split image showing a security inspection captioned ‘YOU AT THE AIRPORT’ and a man departing from a boat captioned ‘MUHAMMAD AT DOVER’.

If on September 11, 2001, someone had told us that one day New York would have a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated mayor, that he would swear his oath on the Qur’an, that as his first act he would repeal the fight against antisemitism and appoint as his chief counsel the lawyer for al‑Qaeda terrorists (including the brother of one of the hijackers who crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon), who would have believed it?

It is early January, 2026, and the world, in its eternal comedy of misunderstandings, is already offering a spectacle that not even the most cynical observer could invent.

On one side, the West-the old, weary Titanic-continues to yawn in its advanced secularization, a slow and inexorable process that empties identities.

On the other, in Iran, young people-Generation Z raised under compulsory veiling and theocratic repression-take to the streets with a rage that tastes like counter‑revolution, openly defying the Islamic Republic and chanting slogans such as “Seyyed Ali will be overthrown,” while burning regime flags.

And, as the cherry on top of this cake of contradictions, in New York-the beating heart of the secularized and multicultural world-Zohran Mamdani, the city’s first Muslim mayor, swears his oath on the Qur’an. A historic gesture celebrating “diversity,” while thousands of kilometers away Mamdani’s Iranian peers risk their lives to free themselves from an Islamic system that imposes that very book as the law of the state.

We have chosen the comfort of relativism: live and let live. But while the West celebrated its secularism as the triumph of reason, it welcomed with fanfare the integration of religious symbols whenever they served to score points for “diversity.”

Here is Mamdani: young, South Asian, Muslim, democratic socialist, swearing on a family Qur’an and on a history book borrowed from the New York Public Library. A gesture heavy with symbolism: the intersection of Islamic faith, colonial legacy, and immigrant pride. The press hails it as a milestone-the first Muslim mayor of New York, hand on the Islamic Holy Book, in a ceremony that blends sharia and progressivism.

This is triumphant multiculturalism: Islam not as a threat, but as enrichment within a secularized society.

Meanwhile, in England the state must compensate a murderous Islamist terrorist because prison isolation caused him depression.

Alaa Abd el‑Fattah has called the English “dogs and monkeys.” He said he “fucking hates whites.” He wrote that killing Zionists, “especially civilians,” is heroic. He praised bin Laden. He dreams of our streets in flames. These were not stray comments. They were a worldview. And Britain’s cultural class did not bother to look. It did not want to look. Because the point was never him. The point was them: proving their own virtue to one another like adolescents comparing scars.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called Abd el‑Fattah’s return an “absolute priority.” He said he was “delighted” when the man landed in Britain-as if British Jews did not exist, as if the names Westminster, London Bridge, Manchester, and Birmingham had been erased from national memory. The Home Office did not check-or did not want to. The civil service looked away. Westminster saw a cause, not a threat.

Actors and actresses such as Emma Thompson, long the moral matron of the aristocratic class, embraced el‑Fattah’s cause. Stephen Fry, who condemns intolerance at home, wants to shake hands with a man who wants the death of Zionists and whites. And then Mike Leigh, Mark Ruffalo, Emily Watson, Joseph Fiennes, and Harriet Walter.

Violence abroad is romantic in their eyes. Violence at home is a misunderstanding. And hatred is acceptable, provided it is directed at the right targets.

This asymmetry is revealing. Those who have never lived in freedom desire it with visceral passion. Those who inherited it consider it obvious, boring, perhaps even oppressive.

In Iran, in Afghanistan under the Taliban, in Pakistan when “blasphemy” laws are enforced against Christians, millions dream of the liberal anonymity of the West. They do not challenge those regimes for a “moderate Islam”; they do so for a Western future in the best sense of the term.

And how about us? We continue to fund, with our taxes and our university choices, post‑colonial studies departments that teach hatred of the West while living protected by its freedoms.

And so, while New York toasts diversity with a Qur’an on the podium, in Iran young people march against a regime that imposes that Qur’an by force.

University students, unveiled women, bazaar merchants united against Khamenei, the octogenarian Supreme Islamic Leader. Confirmed deaths, security forces firing, government buildings stormed. It is the largest wave since 2022, after Mahsa Amini, and perhaps more dangerous: the regime is weakened by sanctions, war with Israel, and the loss of allies.

Iranian youth do not want political Islam. They defy Islamic norms, burn flags, and demand freedom. And the West, in its secularized and pro‑Islamic yawn, looks on with detachment.

A few statements of support from Trump or American politicians, but nothing concrete. Better to celebrate Mamdani, symbol of a “good,” integrated Islam that does not threaten the system. And so the West applauds the rise of Muslim leaders who bring the Qur’an into secular institutions (in Brussels, even into Parliament), precisely while in the Middle East Muslims (or ex‑Muslims) struggle to free themselves from the Qur’an as an instrument of power.

A West that expelled Christianity from the public sphere now admits Islam as a trophy of tolerance.

It will not end well, at least for us. Because when a civilization stops valuing and defending its own achievements, when it begins to excuse or romanticize systems that deny them, it becomes fragile. It becomes permeable. It becomes incapable of resisting those who, from within or without, want to impose a new collectivism-whether Islamist or authoritarian‑woke.

“We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism,” Mamdani declared after swearing on the Qur’an.

All already seen.

Together, Iranian communists and Islamist factions managed, through mass strikes and public deception, to convince the Shah-who was unwilling to intensify repression against his own people to stay in power-to abdicate in January 1979 and go into exile. The communists did not know the tragedy they had just unleashed upon themselves.

And now Iranian youth pay with blood for the desire for freedom that we take for granted, while the West celebrates Qur’an and collectivism and ignores those who want to flee from Qur’an and collectivism.

For years, Germany’s political class and media cartel have insisted that the Alternative for Germany (AfD) could be isolated, silenced, and ultimately broken by a so-called “firewall.” In 2025, that narrative collapsed on the international stage. While Berlin continues to pursue policies of economic decline, mass migration, and ideological foreign policy under Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the AfD has moved in the opposite direction: building strong alliances with patriotic movements across Europe and the United States.

Alice Weidel’s New Year message made one thing unmistakably clear: Germany’s problems are not accidental, and they are not temporary. They are the result of deliberate political choices. And increasingly, the AfD is no longer standing alone in opposing them.

CPAC Hungary: Weidel Breaks the Isolation

The turning point came on May 30, when Alice Weidel became the first AfD leader ever to address CPAC, the world’s most important conservative gathering. Hosted this year in Budapest by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, CPAC brought together leading figures of the global conservative movement, including allies of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.

Speaking in fluent English, Weidel delivered a blistering critique of Germany’s ruling elite. She exposed the economic self-destruction driven by climate ideology, condemned EU overregulation, and called for national sovereignty, secure borders, and the defense of Western civilization. Her closing line — “Let’s make Europe great again” — brought the audience to its feet.

Even the mainstream press was forced to acknowledge the standing ovations. The message was unmistakable: the AfD is no longer treated as a pariah outside Germany. It is welcomed as a legitimate voice of European patriotism.

Orbán Sends a Signal to Berlin

After her speech, Weidel met personally with Viktor Orbán — a highly symbolic moment. For years, German governments pressured foreign leaders not to engage with AfD representatives. Orbán’s open reception signaled the end of Berlin’s ability to dictate who is “acceptable” on the international stage. The firewall cracked — publicly and irreversibly.

London: Petr Bystron Takes the Stage

On September 13, AfD foreign policy spokesman Petr Bystron delivered another blow to the isolation narrative. He addressed one of the largest patriotic demonstrations in European history in London, organized around Tommy Robinson.

Bystron was the only German speaker, appearing alongside international figures such as Elon Musk, Eva Vlaardingerbroek, Katie Hopkins, and Éric Zemmour. An estimated 1.5 million people attended in person, with millions more watching live on X. The livestream reached more than 46 million views.

Bystron’s message was defiant and unapologetic: Europe must defend its identity, its history, and its future. “Our ancestors fought for 2,000 years,” he declared, “and we will fight for another 2,000 years if necessary.” Standing side by side with Tommy Robinson, he added: “We will never give up — together we are strong.”

The AfD was no longer a German phenomenon. It was visibly part of a broader European resistance.

New York: Frohnmaier Honored by Young Republicans

The international breakthrough was sealed on December 13 in New York. Markus Frohnmaier, deputy parliamentary leader of the AfD, received the prestigious Allen W. Dulles Award at the 113th Annual Gala of the New York Young Republican Club.

The award honored Frohnmaier’s “courageous fight” against ideological repression in Germany and his outspoken opposition to Marxist and globalist agendas. In his acceptance speech, Frohnmaier warned that Germany’s ruling class had “lost its mind,” replacing freedom with censorship laws and authoritarian control disguised as “diversity.”

His message resonated strongly with the Trump-aligned audience. The gala, attended by figures such as Jack Posobiec, made one thing clear: the AfD is firmly connected to the MAGA movement and the rising nationalist right in the United States.

Austria Proves the Firewall Backfires

If anyone still doubts the futility of the firewall strategy, Austria provides the clearest possible lesson. There, the Freedom Party (FPÖ) won the election — only to be excluded from power by a grand coalition. The result was not containment, but explosion.

Today, the FPÖ polls at around 40 percent. An outright majority government is within reach. The attempted isolation only fueled public anger and strengthened the party. Austria proves what globalists refuse to admit: firewalls don’t stop patriots — they accelerate them.

Conclusion: 2026 Is Here and Brings Much Excitement and Hope

2025 will be remembered as the year the AfD shattered its artificial isolation and tore down the international firewall built around it by Germany’s political establishment. Alice Weidel’s New Year message points clearly toward what comes next.

The patriotic movement is growing. The alliances are real. The fear is shifting — away from the people and toward the elites.

And if Austria is any indication, Germany may be next.

The patriots are rising — in Europe, in America, and beyond.

A trans-identified male and convicted pedophile is the prime suspect in the brutal murder of a young woman in the residential area of Rönninge, Sweden. Robin Andersson, 26, who recently began calling himself “Vilma,” was arrested on December 30 and detained under suspicion of murder and the gross desecration of a corpse.

Andersson had previously attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in 2019 and was found in possession of over 42,000 files depicting child sexual abuse and graphic images of female corpses.

In the early hours of December 26, the young woman Andersson is believed to have abducted and murdered arrived at Rönninge station. Surveillance footage depicts her exiting the station, after which she was never seen alive again.

The young woman, identified only as “My” in reports, was a university student who was home visiting family for the holidays. Her family has requested privacy, and is asking members of media and the public to refrain from spreading the victim’s photo or personal details.

Suspecting Andersson’s involvement due to his criminal record, police were assigned to trail him for ten hours on the following day. According to news outlet Samnytt, law enforcement witnessed Andersson handling pieces of the woman’s body in a wooded area, where he was attempting to bury her corpse. Andersson is said to have killed and dismembered the woman, and there are reports that he hid additional body parts in a cabin in Södertälje.

In the area around the train station, My’s family discovered her headphones. In addition, a hammer, cable ties and traces of wires were also reportedly found.

Andersson, formerly known as Robin Säbb Hjerth, changed his name several times and most recently adopted a feminine first name, Vilma Andersson. Disturbingly, the name is remarkably similar to that of a 17 year-old Uddevalla girl who was found to have been murdered and dismembered by her boyfriend.

In 2019, Andersson was convicted of an attempted kidnapping and possession of child pornography and was sentenced to two years and four months in prison. But because Andersson was 19 at the time, his sentence fell under a “youth reduction” (ungdomsrabatt) policy that was standard in the Swedish legal system at that time, and he was released in just 18 months, according to Dagens Nyheter.

As a result of being convicted on charges related to pedophilia, Andersson applied for and was granted certain protections by the state under policies intended to “safeguard” individuals who face threats, violence, or other serious risks to their safety.

Information provided in news reports indicate that Andersson, due to being found guilty of crimes related to pedophilia, was registered by the state under the Protected Population Registration (Skyddad folkbokföring).

This measure involves the person living at an address other than where they actually live, which prevents their true location from appearing in public records. Therefore, it is likely that individuals residing in Rönninge were unaware of Andersson’s presence and criminal record, as he was previously living in Ekerö, about 40 kilometers away.

It was in Ekerö where Andersson targeted a 10 year-old girl. While wearing a black mask, Andersson, equipped with zip ties and duct tape, attempted to force the girl into his car. The child managed to escape, and during court proceedings Andersson described his pedocriminal behavior as a “cry for help.”

While under suspicion for the attempted abduction, a forensic investigation uncovered the significant quantity of graphic content in Andersson’s possession, which included both depictions of dead women and child sexual abuse.

The female corpses were also dismembered, as they were photographs from autopsy examinations. The convicted pedophile was also reportedly searching specifically for autopsy images of female genitalia.

Andersson’s internet search history showed that he was looking for information about drugging girls and disposing of their corpses. Investigators were able to track down certain internet searches he had made, such as: “Make someone unconscious,” “chloroform,” and searches for dead female bodies.

A forensic psychiatric examination conducted at the time determined that one of Andersson’s driving forces behind the attempted abduction was his “sexual interest in children and death,” adding that he “does not believe that the plaintiff has been harmed by the act and states that it is not clear that the children depicted in the abuse material feel bad about it.”

However, the report asserted that there were no signs that he suffered from a serious mental disorder. Most evidence, according to psychiatrists, indicated that he “acted in a calculating and purposeful manner during and after the acts.”

After completing an 18-month prison sentence, Andersson was released, and his address and background were withheld by the government. He was then able to legally change his name several times, and eventually settled on Vilma.

Court documents and subsequent reporting state that prosecutors determined Abdelshahed had placed bags over each child’s head and pumped helium into the bags through a hose, depriving them of oxygen. The prosecution described the killings as intentional, carefully planned, and particularly ruthless. Investigators recovered items from the home consistent with this method, including bags, tape, and gas-related equipment.

Abdelshahed admitted to killing the children during the investigation, an admission prosecutors cited alongside forensic findings and other physical evidence.

During the pre-trial phase, he underwent an initial psychiatric screening under Sweden’s Section 7 procedure, which is used to determine whether a full forensic psychiatric evaluation is necessary. According to Dagens Juridik, the preliminary assessment raised concerns about his mental state, prompting authorities to order a comprehensive psychiatric examination.

That examination ultimately concluded that Abdelshahed did not suffer from a serious mental disorder of the kind that would justify sentencing him to compulsory psychiatric care rather than prison.

According to TV4 Nyheterna, Abdelshahed applied to change his legal sex marker to “female” last fall, and his application was granted. He also changed his legal name to “Lily.” Shortly after, he was moved to an unnamed women’s prison.

The demographic landscape of Vienna is shifting rapidly, with a record number of newborns lacking Austrian citizenship despite being born within the country. According to recent data from Statistics Austria, 40.5 percent of babies born in the capital do not have Austrian citizenship — a figure that has doubled from 20 percent just two decades ago.

In several Viennese districts, the statistics are even more striking. In areas such as Favoriten, Ottakring, and Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, the share of non-Austrian newborns has surpassed 50 percent. While these children are born on Austrian soil, they are not legally considered citizens, according to data from Heute newspaper.

This data comes at a time when 40.9% of all of Vienna’s population is foreign-born. Over 50 percent have both parents born overseas.

Those born without a passport do not automatically receive Austrian citizenship, as they do in the United States. Instead, there is a process, and in a number of cases, these people do not go on to obtain Austrian citizenship and have issues with voting and sometimes even staying in the country. Leftist politicians have called for these citizens to receive automatic citizenship.

In addition, of the approximately 60 percent of those born in Vienna with an Austrian passport, many of these births are to those with a migration background who also have Austrian citizenship.

In short, the demographics of Vienna are rapidly changing. As Remix News reported last month, for the first time ever, over 50 percent of first-graders do not understand German, a major milestone in the troubled Vienna school system.

Another milestone was also reached last year, with Muslims outnumbering Christians for the first time in the Vienna elementary school system.

Muslim students now account for 41.2 percent of all students, while Christian students fell to 34.5 percent. The trend is only growing, and is accompanied by rising problems, including violence in schools, anti-Semitism, and contempt for women.

Meanwhile, the right-wing Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) is raising the alarm about the rapid demographic change in Austria and Vienna.

“Austrians will soon be strangers in their own country,” said Hannes Amesbauer, security spokesman for the FPÖ.

FPÖ National Council member Maximilian Weinzierl, the FPÖ youth spokesperson and federal chairman of the Freedom Party Youth said:

A Labour Justice Minister has been embroiled in a conflict of interest row after it was revealed her husband represented Islamist killer Fuad Awale.

Dan Squires KC, who is married to Courts Minister Sarah Sackman, represented the double killer after the Somalian was placed in a special separation unit.

Awale claimed solitary confinement breached his right to a private life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights and alleged he was suffering from “severe depression”.

However, the Islamist extremist was placed in the special unit after he and another inmate ambushed a prison officer and threatened to kill him unless Britain released the radical cleric Abu Qatada.

Justice Secretary David Lammy agreed to pay the extremist double killer £7,500 and bolted on a taxpayer-funded legal bill of £234,000 after judges ruled Awale’s human rights had been breached.

Mr Squires KC, a barrister at Matrix chambers, also represented “extremist enforcer” Denny Da Silva in a similar human rights case.

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick heaped pressure on Mr Lammy after it was revealed Ms Sackman’s husband had represented the pair of extremists.

Mr Jenrick said: “He needs to make clear that there is no conflict of interest within his department, between his courts minister and her husband bringing the cases of these extremists against the Government.

“Fuad Awale and Denny de Silva are two of the most despicable extremists currently held in our prisons.

“It would be outrageous if they were paid compensation because they disliked being prevented from radicalising other inmates or attacking officers.

“It is inexplicable why the Justice Secretary isn’t appealing the decisions or bringing forward emergency legislation to prevent this.

“He’s putting his obsessive adherence to the ECHR above the safety of prison officers, the interests of taxpayers and basic decency.”

The Shadow Justice Secretary also urged Mr Lammy to introduce an emergency bill to exclude extremists from the remit of the ECHR.

Reform UK and the Conservative Party have both unveiled their own plans to withdraw from the Strasbourg convention.

However, Attorney General Lord Hermer compared those advocating to leave the ECHR to Nazis.

Despite Sir Keir Starmer last month urging European leaders to reform the convention, Labour continues to reject calls to leave.

Responding to Mr Jenrick’s claims, a Labour spokesman said: “This claim is entirely baseless.

“Minister Sackman has had no involvement in the Government’s decisions relating to Mr Awale or in any other case brought by a prisoner.

“In Mr Awale’s case, the court hearing happened before minister Sackman was an MP. This Government will not be cowed by legal threats from prisoners.

“The safety of the public and our hard-working prison staff is our main priority, and when dangerous prisoners pose a risk they will be placed in our specialist high security units.”

The Ministry of Justice also stressed Ms Sackman only became Courts Minister after the judgment was handed down and had no involvement in the case.

The Finchley & Golders Green MP is believed to have complied with the ministerial code, including declaring her husband’s role as a barrister.

However, Mr Lammy is now considering a review by the terror watchdog Jonathan Hall of how security could be improved after an alleged knife attack on three prison officers by Manchester arena bomb plotter Hashem Abedi.

The Justice Secretary said: “I can assure you that significant policy and operational changes are under active consideration to ensure that the legal framework regarding the placement in separation remains robust, relevant and trusted.”
