Catalonia has a new political disruptor: Aliança Catalana, a right-wing, anti-immigration party that has surged from obscurity to become one of the most consequential forces in the region. A party that only recently entered parliament with two seats is now projected, according to the Catalan government’s Centre for Opinion Studies (CEO), to win 19 to 20 seats—putting it level with one of the region’s traditional pro-independence heavyweights.

For years, Catalan politics has revolved around a familiar trio. The PSC is the centre-left party aligned with Spain’s central government. ERC is a left-leaning separatist party. And Junts is a liberal-nationalist separatist party once led by Carles Puigdemont, the chief political figure of the 2017 independence crisis. It is Junts—formerly the standard-bearer of Catalonia’s independence cause—that is now suffering a dramatic collapse, falling from 35 seats to roughly the same level as Aliança. ERC would stay slightly ahead on 22 to 23, while the PSC would still win the election but shows clear signs of voter weariness.

At the heart of Aliança’s rise is its leader, Sílvia Orriols. Born in Vic in 1984 and trained in library science and documentation, she cut her teeth in small nationalist movements before entering local politics in Ripoll. Her ascent began after she founded Aliança, won the Ripoll mayoralty in 2023, and turned herself into one of the most talked-about figures in Catalonia. She describes herself as “anti-Islamist” and fiercely opposed to what she calls “Spanish occupation.”

Ripoll, her hometown and power base, gives her message an added charge. It was in Ripoll that the jihadist cell behind the 2017 Barcelona and Cambrils attacks was formed. Orriols has capitalised on lingering unease over immigration and crime, and the CEO’s polling shows just how strongly her supporters feel about the issue. An overwhelming majority believe the Spanish government has lost control over who enters the country; most say immigration levels are too high; and many think Catalan traditions are disappearing.

But what makes Aliança even more disruptive is the breadth of its appeal. Despite its strong pro-independence rhetoric, 32% of its voters do not support independence at all and say they feel comfortable within Spain. It is also attracting voters from VOX, Spain’s national-level anti-immigration party, which is now losing ground among younger right-leaning Catalans.

Pollsters describe Aliança’s growth as “geometric,” doubling with each new survey. It is drawing in separatists disillusioned with their leaders, unionists frustrated with Madrid, and culturally conservative voters anxious about immigration and identity.

Catalonia is no stranger to political shocks. But the rise of Aliança Catalana—born in a mountain town and now threatening to reorder the region’s politics from top to bottom—may prove its most destabilising upheaval for several years.

A Sudanese “refugee” has been convicted of threatening a Christian preacher with a knife at Hyde Park’s Speakers’ Corner.

Knifeman Ahmed Mohammed, 34, approached preacher Daniel Ayettey, who was addressing a crowd from atop a ladder at the historic debate spot on a Sunday afternoon in May.

Following what prosecutors described as a previous “minor incident” between the pair over religious matters, Mohammed asked the preacher: “What would you like to happen in my life?”

Mr Ayettey responded: “I would like to have the Lord in your life.”

That triggered an immediate change in Mohammed’s behaviour, prosecutor Nicholas Mesure told Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday.

“That seemed to be the catalyst as it very quickly changed Mr Mohammed’s demeanour and he became very angry,” Mr Mesure said.

Mohammed initially attempted to pull the preacher from his ladder before fleeing the scene.

Mr Ayettey persisted with his sermon despite the initial assault, but Mohammed reappeared carrying a knife and declared: “I am going to stab you.”

Mr Mesure told the court: “There were a number of people, including Muslims, who were aware of Mohammed and they tried to persuade Mr Ayettey not to call the police.”

Police arrested Mohammed following the incident, though he declined to participate in questioning.

Mohammed was this week found guilty of the knife-related crime.

Beyond the knife conviction, which could result in up to four years behind bars, Mohammed admitted to stealing food and alcohol from a Marble Arch Sainsbury’s earlier that month.

The court was also told how the refugee had amassed 67 criminal offences across 29 convictions in just seven years.

He also has outstanding application with the Home Office for permanent residency in Britain.

Judge Martin Griffith remarked: “Seven years of offending – it is a lot of time for someone to make their mind up.”

He postponed sentencing to December 12, allowing probation services to evaluate Mohammed’s suitability for an alcohol rehabilitation programme.

Speakers’ Corner, established through an Act of Parliament in 1872, has seen skyrocketing violence against innocent Christian speakers.

Last year, Islamist Edward Little was handed a life sentence for planning to murder Christian preacher Hatun Tash at the location.

Ms Tash herself suffered a knife attack in July 2021 while wearing a t-shirt bearing a cartoon from Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical magazine targeted by Islamic extremists in 2015.

She later received £10,000 compensation from police following two wrongful arrests after reporting threats from Islamic protesters.

Following her attack, Tash vowed: “We don’t live in Pakistan, we don’t live in Saudi Arabia.

“I am Christian and by default I believe that Muhammad is a false prophet. I should be allowed to say that in the UK.”

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that “tremendous progress” has been made in the past week on efforts to wind down the Russia-Ukraine war.

Trump touted the development in a Truth Social post on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after the annual turkey pardon.

“Over the past week, my team has made tremendous progress with respect to ending the War between Russia and Ukraine (A War that would have NEVER started if I were President!). Last month 25,000 soldiers died,” he said.

On Sunday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll met with Ukrainian officials in Geneva, where an updated version of Trump’s 28-point peace plan was drafted.

“The original 28-Point Peace Plan, which was drafted by the United States, has been fine-tuned, with additional input from both sides, and there are only a few remaining points of disagreement,” Trump wrote Tuesday.

Now, Witkoff is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Driscoll is set to meet with Ukrainians.

“In the hopes of finalizing this Peace Plan, I have directed my Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with President Putin in Moscow and, at the same time, Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll will be meeting with the Ukrainians,” Trump said.

“I will be briefed on all progress made, along with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles,” he added.

Trump said he would meet with the leaders of both countries once the war is settled or an agreement is near finalization.

“I look forward to hopefully meeting with President Zelenskyy and President Putin soon, but ONLY when the deal to end this War is FINAL or, in its final stages,” he said.

“Thank you for your attention to this very important matter, and let’s all hope that PEACE can be accomplished AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!” he concluded.

The mayor of Essen, a large city in the western part of Germany, recently admitted that almost every single German city is on the brink of bankruptcy, with only a handful managing balanced budgets, BILD reported.

North Rhine-Westphalia, the country’s biggest state, has just 10 solvent municipalities out of 396, and the rest of Germany, tragically, looks exactly the same.

For the first time, even once-wealthy cities are imposing total spending freezes, and the era of endless Merkel-style handouts is officially dead..

Essen itself went from expecting a tiny surplus to a €123 million black hole in a single year—proof that globalist open-border policies, combined with Germany’s exceedingly generous social welfare programs, have destroyed the nation’s finances overnight.

The main culprit? The unrelenting stream migrants, the majority of whom are welfare-dependent military-aged men. So-called ‘refugee’ housing, welfare, and integration efforts alone devour at least €50 billion a year nationwide, and that’s the official low-ball figure.

A group of Colorado parents are suing their kids’ school district after a gender-confused boy was placed not only in the same hotel room – but in the same bed with – a fifth-grade girl.  

Attorneys with the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) have filed an opening brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit on behalf of four Colorado families who are challenging Jefferson County Public Schools for “violating parents’ fundamental right to make decisions about the upbringing and education of their children.”

“The families are asking the court to stop school-district officials from requiring their children to share bedrooms and shower facilities with students of the opposite sex on school-sponsored overnight trips,” according to an ADF press release. “The district’s policy of rooming students by ‘gender identity’ rather than sex without prior notice or a sex-separated alternative violates the families’ free exercise, bodily privacy, and parental rights.”

Jefferson County Public Schools forced the 11-year-old daughter of Joe and Serena Wailes to share a room with a gender-confused male on an overnight trip to Washington, D.C., in 2023. The school district initially put the young female student in the same bed with the male student without letting her or her parents know about the true sex of the bedmate.

The school district told the girl not to talk about the gender-confused male’s actual sex and instead instructed her to keep quiet that the student was actually a boy. The parents of the gender-confused child wanted their son’s actual sex to remain in “stealth mode,” according to Principal Ryan Lucas.

Bret and Susanne Roller, who are also part of the parent group suing the school system, discovered after their young son’s school trip that the school district had assigned a female to share his cabin and monitor his showers. 

“Parents, not government bureaucrats, have the right and responsibility to direct the upbringing and education of their children, and that includes making informed decisions to protect their children’s privacy,” said ADF Senior Counsel Kate Anderson, director of the ADF Center for Parental Rights, said in a statement. 

“This fundamental right is especially vital for all parents who wish to raise their children according to their religious values and protect their children’s bodily privacy,” continued Anderson. “Jefferson County Public Schools claims to ‘freely grant accommodations to all,’ yet they will not offer equal accommodations to religious students to access educational opportunities without sacrificing their bodily privacy.”

The school district’s stated policy requires students to be “assigned to share overnight accommodations with other students that share the student’s gender identity” rather than according to their sex. 

ADF explains: 

The district tells parents that “girls will be roomed together on one floor, and boys will be roomed together on a different floor.” But officials fail to disclose that they have redefined the words “girl” and “boy” to mean a student’s self-asserted “gender identity” rather than sex. 

The district refuses to give parents truthful, pertinent information about their children’s overnight accommodations, hampering parents’ ability to make informed decisions about their children’s education and privacy.

Jefferson County has a history of embracing transgenderism

The news of the district’s policy is not necessarily surprising given the district’s embrace of transgenderism and the LGBT agenda. It reportedly forced a teacher to undergo pro-LGBT “training” after he told a gender-confused student about “detransitioners” and refused to embrace gender ideology.

The district also works with an autism support services company that hosted a “drag story hour.”

The school district also does not believe parents must be informed when students start to claim that they are the opposite sex. “Prior to notification of any parent/guardian regarding the transition process, school staff should work closely with the student to assess the degree, if any, the parent/guardian will be involved in the process and must consider the health, well-being, and safety of the student in transition,” an official guide states.

The public school system has also been caught falsely claiming students were not dressing up as “furries,” or animals, at school.

One mom, a self-described Democrat, had emailed the school to complain about students who were wearing “collars” and “ears” and “tails” and were “hissing” and “barking.” The kids also walk on all fours and refer to themselves as “animal avengers,” as previously reported by LifeSiteNews.

The father of an Oklahoma teen whose suicide made national headlines has been exposed as a registered sex offender who now identifies as transgender. In 2019, James Everette Hughes was convicted of raping his daughter, Dagny “Nex” Benedict, when she was nine years old, and sentenced to five years in prison. Hughes is now listed as “female” on the sex offender registry, and has changed his legal name to Chloe Elizabeth.

High school student Benedict was 16 years old when she took her own life last year. According to a coroner report, autopsy results determined her death was caused by an overdose of Prozac and Benadryl. The incident received national media attention as Benedict identified as non-binary, and had complained of ongoing bullying by her peers at Owasso High School.

On February 7, 2024, Benedict was involved in an altercation in the girls’ restroom with three students who had been mocking her. While in the restroom, Benedict overheard the students mocking her friend, and in response, poured water on them. Benedict said the trio then assaulted her until she lost consciousness.

“They came at me. They grabbed on my hair. I grabbed onto them,” Benedict would later tell a police officer. “I threw one of them into a paper towel dispenser and then they got my legs out from under me and got me on the ground.”

Owasso High School administrators contacted the girl’s grandmother and adoptive mother, Sue Benedict. She arrived to find Benedict with several bruises and scratches on her face and head. School officials informed Sue that her granddaughter would be suspended for two weeks, and she then took the teen to be examined at a hospital.

The following day, February 8, Benedict collapsed in the living room at her home. Sue called emergency services and informed operators that the girl’s eyes had rolled back into her head, and that she was struggling to breathe. By the time medical personnel arrived at their home, she had stopped breathing, and she was pronounced dead by the evening.

Benedict’s suicide was quickly framed by major mainstream outlets, including The Washington Post, as a cautionary tale about “transphobia,” with some coverage suggesting her death was linked to an Oklahoma executive order defining a person’s sex as their biological sex at birth. Since then, numerous transgender advocacy groups have cited her death as evidence of the “consequences” of “anti-LGBTQ hate.”

Politicians across the United States expressed similar sentiments, with some even portraying the death as being a direct result of the fight that had occurred in the school washroom the day before Benedict’s overdose.

However, most of these accounts did not acknowledge that Benedict’s history of childhood sexual abuse may also have played a role in her long-standing mental health struggles.

But an article by The Distance Magazine‘s Matt Osborne has shed disturbing new light on the tragic story.

While it had been previously understood that Benedict was a victim of incestuous sexual abuse, Osborne has revealed that Benedict’s father now identifies as transgender himself.

Hughes was convicted in 2019 of repeatedly raping Benedict. For the horrific crime, he received a five-year prison sentence with a ten year suspended sentence, as well as lifetime sex offender registration. According to Osborne, Hughes was arrested in January 2024 for failing to comply with his registration requirements. Benedict took her life thirteen days later.

Osborne notes that upon his arrest, Hughes was already showing some signs that indicated he may have been transitioning. Compared to a booking photo from his first time in prison, Hughes had already begun to grow his hair out and had softened facial features which could have been the result of hormone replacement therapy.

An updated inmate photo taken at the Sebastian County Jail in May of 2025 shows Hughes, using the name “James Tsang,” with a freshly-shaved face, shoulder-length hair, and what appears to be some light makeup.

Hughes is currently listed as “Chloe Elizabeth Hughes” on the National Sex Offender Public Website and has been classified as a “female” sex offender by the state of California, where he currently resides in Los Angeles.

While Hughes is not currently in custody, any future offenses he may commit would likely result in him being sent to a women’s prison due to California’s lenient gender identity laws.

SB-132, or the Transgender Respect, Agency, and Dignity Act, went into effect in January of 2021, and allowed male inmates to seek transfer to women’s prisons on the basis of self-declared gender identity. Male inmates do not have to be on hormones, have surgery, be diagnosed with gender dysphoria, or even have legal documents supporting their transgender status in order to gain transfer.

According to Keep Prisons Single Sex USA, 33.8% of all male inmates seeking transfer to women’s prisons are sex offenders, and the Bureau of Prisons has affirmed that sex offenders are responsible for up to 50% of rapes which occur within federal prisons.

Trump set out the original peace plan, following lengthy bilateral negotiations between the White House and the Kremlin. We finally have the terms on which the war can end tomorrow morning. They can be fine-tuned, but not rejected in their essence. So now, Kiev and Brussels must make up their minds. Their reaction? Good-old sabotage in the form of panicky statements and a counter-plan. For some reason, they seem not all that keen on stopping the carnage.

Needless to say, Europe’s bigwigs could not care less about the US President’s desire for wrapping it up by Thanksgiving Day. On the contrary, they appear willing as ever to throw a wrench into the whole thing, buying time all while coaching Zelensky to believe that he could somehow end up better on EU backing alone. But why on earth do Europeans want the conflict to drag on? Why not seize a rare opportunity to end a bloodbath that has cost our economies so dearly?

Two reasons, to begin with. Both ugly. Both political. First, they cannot admit they lied. For three years European voters were sold a fairytale: Russia is about to collapse, sanctions will break Putin, Ukraine is winning, every euro to Kiev is an investment in democracy. To stop now would mean standing up and saying: “We were wrong. We misled you. We threw away hundreds of billions. Your bills are through the roof because we got it catastrophically wrong.”

Second, and even more cynical: They need the war to go on because they have already wrecked the European economy and now require a permanent Russian threat to justify their attempt to restart its engines through rearmament. Cheap Russian gas is gone forever. German factories are closing. French and Italian industries are shrinking. Inflation is eating away wages. Farmers are on the streets. How do you explain this disaster to angry voters?

First and foremost, you keep the Russian bogeyman alive. Without a scary Russia playing Hannibal ante Portas, there is no excuse to funnel hundreds of billions of taxpayer money into “European rearmament”. No excuse to bankroll defence giants like Rheinmetall, Airbus, Leonardo and Thales with fat new contracts. No excuse to tell citizens their taxes must rise again “because of the Russian threat”.

Look at the numbers. The EU has already burned through close to €200 billion on Ukraine – and counting. Germany is adding €100 billion to its defence budget by 2030. France says it wants a “war economy”. The new EU defence commissioner talks openly about making Europe’s arms industry “great again”. Peace tomorrow could pull the plug on this gold rush overnight.

Trump’s team is waving a peace plan – freeze the lines, no NATO for Ukraine, security guarantees, Russia back in G8. Kiev is listening. Even Zelensky’s chief of staff is negotiating. Putin calls it “a basis”. Washington is tired of writing blank cheques. But von der Leyen, Macron, Merz, Starmer, Costa, Kallas and the rest are scrambling to water it down or sabotage it. Why? Because if peace returns, the Russian bogeyman vanishes.

If no Russian threat exists, voters will ask perfectly reasonable questions: “If Russia is no longer a menace, why are we still paying for all these tanks? Why are energy prices still sky-high? Why did we destroy our industry for nothing, if Russia could not be beaten in the first place?”

And thus, the war has now become the only lifeline of short-sighted and corrupt leaders and dignitaries who have ruined us. It hides their failures so far, protects their narrative and keeps the money flowing to the military-industrial complex and its friends, while our living standards are falling and a once all-mighty continent is sliding into irrelevance.

Do not be fooled. The Russian bogeyman does not live in the Kremlin. He lives in the Berlaymont, fed daily by pride, cowardice and greed. Until European voters force their leaders to undo him, the war, the decline and the great robbery will go on. Rearm, all right. We need it – not in order to counter Russia, but so as to have a persuasive say on both a regional and global level. Europe’s military might and growth need no human sacrifices. Go for peace and save what is still salvageable.

In an “important victory for free speech”, Father Ted creator Graham Linehan was found not guilty of harassment over posts made on social media about a transgender activist.

Linehan, one of the most acclaimed comedy writers of his generation and an outspoken critic of transgenderism, was arrested in September at Heathrow airport in London by five armed Metropolitan Police officers after returning to the UK from the United States.

He was arrested over suspicion of inciting violence over a series of posts he made in October of 2024 in relation to trans activist Sophia Brooks, a biologically male transgender individual who identifies as a woman.

According to the Times of London, Westminster Magistrates’ Court District Judge Briony Clarke cleared Linehan of harassing Brooks, with Clarke finding that she did not believe the activist “was as alarmed or distressed” as had been claimed over Linehan’s social media posts.

However, the judge did find Linehan guilty of criminal damage for knocking Brooks’ phone to the ground when confronted outside of a Battle of Ideas conference in London last year.

Speaking outside of the courtroom, the IT Crowd writer said: “The judge found me and the women who gave evidence on my behalf to be credible, honest witnesses, and said that my actions were not criminal and did not constitute harassment.

“The judge commented that the complainant, a well-known trans activist, was not truthful. There are a group of dangerous men who are determined to bully women and girls, and to misuse the courts and police in furtherance of a misogynistic agenda.

“I’m proud to have stood up to them and I will continue to do so.”

Linehan is also reportedly set to launch an appeal against the criminal damage conviction, with the Free Speech Union quickly announcing that it would fund the suit.

Lord Young of Acton, director of the Free Speech Union, said that the dismissal of the harassment charge was “an important victory for free speech, since it makes it less likely that people who express gender-critical views on social media or who ‘misgender’ trans people in future will be arrested under suspicion of committing a criminal offence.”

However, he argued that the criminal damage conviction “gives carte blanche to far-Left activists” to film debate attendees whom they disapprove of as an “intimidation tactic designed to scare people away”.

“Admittedly, the screen of Brooks’s phone smashed when Graham knocked it out of his hand. But it’s important to bear in mind that hoping to provoke an intemperate reaction is often the reason the activists film their opponents. The idea is to record them lashing out and then to post that footage on social media, hoping to get them into trouble with their employers. If something ends up getting damaged, so much the better since the activists can then lodge a complaint with the police,” Young wrote in The Telegraph.

The controversy surrounding Linehan’s arrest in September has already led to some rollback of Britain’s draconian speech restrictions. Indeed, last month, London’s Met Police announced that they would no longer investigate so-called ‘Non-Crime Hate Incidents’.

While NCHIs, as their name implies, do not rise to the level of an actual crime, recording what typically amounts to insults can have serious ramifications for the accused, given that some employers can access the file as part of an employment background check. It is also difficult to clear such an accusation, as the police often do not inform the person that they have even been accused in the first place.

Although the Met’s decision to stop investigating NCHIs was characterised as a significant win for free speech, the police force did not say it would no longer record such incidents.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has demanded that Poland recognize same-sex “marriage.”

In a November 25 ruling, the ECtHR announced that Poland must legally acknowledge so-called same-sex “marriages” performed in another European Union country, as part of the latest push to embed the LGBT ideology in Polish culture.

“A Member State has the obligation to recognise a marriage between two Union citizens of the same sex that has been lawfully concluded in another Member State where they have exercised their freedom to move and reside,” the ruling reads.

The ruling is in response to a 2018 case of two men who were civilly “married” in Berlin, Germany, and wished to return to Poland. Upon their return, Poland refused to recognize the same-sex “marriage,” prompting the men to seek legal action.

Poland’s national law prohibits same-sex “marriage,” defining marriage as a union exclusively between a man and a woman.

“Marriage, being a union of a man and a woman, as well as the family, motherhood and parenthood, shall be placed under the protection and care of the Republic of Poland,” Article 18 of the Polish Constitution declares.

However, the new ruling asserted that Poland’s refusal to recognize same-sex marriage infringes on “freedom to move and reside” as well as the “fundamental right to respect for private and family life.”

Currently, the ruling does not require Poland to legalize same-sex marriage domestically.

Polonia Christiana, a Polish Catholic newspaper, responded to the decision, saying, “The European courts continue their fight against family and marriage. They are particularly irritated by the situation in Poland, which has still not succumbed to the rainbow dictatorship. Hence another attempt to impose a law equating marriage with same-sex unions.”

Since EU-backed Prime Minister Donald Tusk took office in 2023, he has been pushing to enshrine the LGBT agenda in Polish law. Currently, LGBT activists in government are working to pass a bill which would grant same-sex cohabiting couples privileges reserved for married couples.

At the same time, Catholic President Karol Nawrocki is pushing to maintain Poland’s socially conservative and family-orientated culture.

In October, Nawrocki signed into law the cancellation of personal income tax for parents who are raising two or more children, in an effort to support and encourage families and boost the economy.

A suspected terrorist accused of stabbing three people in Madrid before attacking police shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ reportedly told his mum he was on a mission to ‘kill Christians.’

The 18-year-old, a Spaniard of Moroccan origin, remains in hospital after being tasered and shot by anti-terror police when he holed himself up in a flat following the triple stabbing and violently resisted attempts to arrest him.

A judge at Spain‘s central criminal court is now investigating the incidents on Saturday afternoon as suspected Islamic terrorist crimes.

Cops had told the judge the teenager, who is currently under police guard at Madrid’s Gregorio Maranon Hospital, had told his mother that his mission ‘was to kill Christians’ and that he had to ‘cleanse himself’, according to Spanish newspaper El Espanol. 

Other reports said detectives were investigating whether the suspect, who has so far been identified only by his first name Mohammed, had consumed the synthetic drug Captago, which is known to have been used by ISIS fighters in Syria to make themselves feel invincible.

Footage published late yesterday showed the teenager being stretchered out of the property in the Madrid neighbourhood of Puente de Vallecas where he was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon.

As well as trying to attack officers with a large knife he was carrying, he is also said to have recited verses from the Quran before being overpowered. […]
