UK: Cambridge University ‘insidiously’ discriminating against private school white boys, says ‘anti-woke’ vice-chancellor

Professor James Tooley claims Cambridge University is discriminating against rich white malesPA/X

Cambridge University has been criticised for allegedly discriminating against private school white boys, according to a university vice-chancellor.

Professor James Tooley claimed that Cambridge University is actively trying to reduce the number of “wealthier white males”.

Cambridge’s state school intake has increased from 61.4 per cent of those offered places in 2013 to 72.9 per cent in 2022.

Tooley told the Times: “Cambridge famously, explicitly, is reducing the numbers of what you might call wealthier white males.

“They’re increasing the number of ethnic minority males and females, and females in general, and are therefore reducing the number of white males.

“And therefore what you see is admissions policies being undermined by a government regulator.

“Cambridge is absolutely being discriminatory against the privately educated, particularly privately educated white males.

“They are being discriminated against. It is very insidious but the government isn’t off the hook here.”

“There is the potential for the regulator to use conditions of registration to interfere with academic freedom.

“They’re already using them to interfere with the selection of students.”

The Office for Students (Ofs) requires each institution it regulates to have an approved access and participation plan in place.

These set out how universities will attract students from under-represented backgrounds make the proportion of first class degrees awarded to those from ethnic groups and with disabilities more balanced.

Tooley is vice-chancellor for Buckingham University – the UK’s oldest private university, founded in 1976.

The university announced plans to offer a Masters degree and PhD in the subject of ‘wokeness’ from this coming autumn.

The new course will be run by Professor Eric Kaufmann who said: “The aim of the course is to examine woke like any other ideology and treat it analytically and dispassionately.”

GB News has approached Cambridge University for comment.

France: A Calvary in the Dordogne was defaced with the inscription “Islam” and a crescent moon

In the small village of Saint-Pantaly-d’Excideuil in the Dordogne, with a population of 146, a Calvary has displayed the tag “Islam” written with a black spray can along the cross since December 24. The perpetrators who defaced this Catholic oratory also made sure that a crescent, the emblem of the Muslim faithful, was depicted.

“It’s despicable, disgusting, childish … And it’s a reflection of today’s society. Everyone makes fun of everything. I pass over the sacrilege and will not participate in hate speech, but those who wrote this are idiots who do not respect the religion of our forefathers,” laments Quentin, the owner of the land on which this Calvary was built in the 1800s. (…)

The S.O.S. Calvaires association, which is recognised as a non-profit organisation, published a photo of Calvary on social media on Thursday after being alerted by a local resident who was “shocked” by the damage to a religious monument. Since then, more and more volunteers have been trickling in, offering to clean the image. We try not to report on such damage too often, because it might seem pathetic,” explains Alexandre Caillé, the general director of S.O.S Calvaires. But Calvaries are already suffering from the ravages of time and neglect, and it’s painful to see them being vandalised too. And this one has been “sprayed” with graffiti since December! In order to restore the Calvary without damaging the stone or the calcine, an expensive specialised material would have to be used. The association is considering taking on this task if the owner agrees. (…) Le Figaro

BREAKING: Far-Left Judge Engoron Releases Verdict in Trump Civil Fraud Trial: Orders Trump to Pay More Than $350 MILLION and 3-Year Business Ban in NYC

Judge Arthur Engoron on Friday released his verdict in Letitia James’ New York City fraud trial against President Trump.

The judge made his decision in a 92-page filing.

Judge Engoron ordered Trump to pay more than a $355 million fine and barred Trump “from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years.”

Engoron claimed Trump and each of the defendants “participated in aiding and abetting the conspiracy to commit insurance fraud by their individual acts in falsifying business records and valuations, causing materially fraudulent SFCs to be intentionally submitted to insurance companies.”

“DISGORGEMENT OF ILL-GOTTEN GAINS”

“[W]here, as here, there is a claim based on fraudulent activity, disgorgement may be available as an equitable remedy, notwithstanding the absence of loss to individuals or independent claims for restitution. Disgorgement is distinct from the remedy of restitution because it focuses on the gain to the wrongdoer as opposed to the loss to the victim. Thus, disgorgement aims to deter wrongdoing by preventing the wrongdoer from retaining ill-gotten gains from fraudulent conduct. Accordingly, the remedy of disgorgement does not require a showing or allegation of direct losses to consumers or the public; the source of the ill-gotten gains is “immaterial,” Engoron wrote.

“As detailed in the Findings of Fact, there is overwhelming evidence that each of these defendants made or participated in making a false statement in the business records of an enterprise, the Trump Organization, with the intent to defraud,” Engoron wrote in the filing reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump were also ordered to pay millions of dollars in fines.

Eric Trump and Don Jr. were ordered to pay $4,013,024 each.

“There is also sufficient evidence that Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric Trump intentionally falsified business records. They served as attorneys-in-fact for Donald Trump and were under a heightened duty of prudence,” Engoron wrote.

Trump Org. CFO Allen Weisselberg was ordered to pay $1 million.

Brussels: A radical Pakistani imam recites a sura from the Quran in front of the microphone of the Brussels Parliament before receiving an award from the socialist Nawal Ben Hammou, Brussels Secretary of State for Equal Opportunities

Pictures are circulating on social media showing a Pakistani imam reciting a sura from the Quran at an awards ceremony in the Brussels Parliament in mid-January. This event was not organised by the Brussels Parliament, as we were informed. Following this incident, the rules of procedure will be amended in order to “preserve state neutrality”, according to Parliament President Rachid Madrane (PS).

Images shared on X by MP Theo Francken (N-VA) and others. They show Muhammad Ansar Butt, a Pakistani imam, reciting religious prayers in the Brussels Parliament.

According to Bruzz, the imam published the video on his social networks on the 15th of January. It is a ritual prayer practised in Islam. The N-VA MP, who was interviewed by the newspaper, said: “This is extremely questionable, even shocking. The separation between state and religion is sacred to me. It is reprehensible for someone to recite Quranic verses in the parliament of the capital of Europe.”

The scene took place during an award ceremony for Brussels residents of Pakistani origin “who have distinguished themselves in various fields”, including sportsmen or entrepreneurs. “As on many occasions, Ms Ben Hamou was invited to an award ceremony by an organisation, in this case the Friends of Brussels organisation,” explained her spokesperson. She was not the organiser of the event and did not finance the association.

When the recitation began, Brussels State Secretary Nawal Ben Hamou (SP) “left the room because she felt that a parliament, even if it must be open to civil society in its diversity, is not an ordinary place, but a state institution,” her spokesperson added. The State Secretary recalled that “the neutrality of the State is a fundamental principle and must therefore lead to the avoidance of philosophical or religious rituals being performed within it”.

The government explains that a rabbi and a priest were also present at the event.

For his part, Parliament President Rachid Madrane (SP) explained that the event had not been organised by Parliament, but was part of the regular visits carried out at the request of MPs, in this case Hasan Koyuncu. He points out that if Parliament is supposed to be a place open to citizens, this incident should not have happened.

“It is a public institution, it is the heart of democracy, it must remain neutral,” explains his spokesperson. To prevent something like this from happening again, Rachid Madrane wants to remind the MP in question and the various parliamentary group leaders. The issue will also be discussed on Monday and the Rules of Procedure will be amended to remind them that “neutrality must be respected”.

Spanish Public TV To Air Election Result Only if Left Wins

Photo: Manuel Milan / Shutterstock.com

Spain’s public television broadcaster plans to show the final results of an important local election this Sunday—but only if the Right loses its majority.

RTVE will air the results of Sunday’s Galician elections on its primary channel, La 1, but will switch to showing the movie Wonder Woman if it looks like the center-right Partido Popular (PP) has been re-elected. However, if the party is set to lose its majority—potentially ushering in a left-wing coalition—the coverage will continue.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported the story, blaming a ratings war with a rival channel for the decision. However, the citizen’s group, Free TVE, which advocates for an editorially unbiased public broadcaster, has denounced the television station’s plan on X, accusing the station of “belittling” the Galician people and “covering up” a PP win.

Elections take place this Sunday in the Autonomous Community of Galicia. The region and the entire country will be watching the results closely as there is a possibility that the center-right Partido Popular (PP) will lose its long-standing majority rule in the region. Even if the PP faces a defeat of some nature, it remains to be seen exactly how the vote will split and who will be able to form a government.

For the Left, and particularly the governing socialist party PSOE, defeating the PP in the region would count as a victory. The PSOE, which finished second to the PP in last July’s elections, has gone to tremendous—possibly illegal—lengths to form the coalition that has allowed them to remain in power.

Switzerland: 19-year-old Pakistani man stabs two female carers

A video shows the arrest of the 19-year-old.Screen grab

On Monday, there was a brutal attack on two members of staff at the Brüttisellen youth hostel: A 19-year-old resident of the socio-educational youth centre inflicted serious facial injuries on the women with a knife. The 36- and 45-year-old Swiss women had to be taken to hospital.
The Zurich public prosecutor’s office has opened proceedings against the 19-year-old resident of the home. This was confirmed by Head of Communications Erich Wenzinger at the request of 20 Minuten. “The public prosecutor’s office is conducting criminal proceedings against the accused 19-year-old Pakistani for an offence against life and limb. Yesterday afternoon, it applied to the compulsory measures court for an order for pre-trial detention.”

According to Wenzinger, the decision of the court of compulsory measures is still pending. The presumption of innocence applies until the proceedings are finalised.

The background to the incident is the subject of ongoing investigations by the police and public prosecutor’s office. “We are not making any further statements due to the ongoing proceedings or for reasons of personal privacy.”

According to two young people who attend the social centre, the knife attack was preceded by an argument. It is said to have been about the 19-year-old man’s mobile phone addiction, who was “constantly” glued to his smartphone.

Germany: Syrian man stabs 7-year-old girl at random

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kaufland+Leonberg/

It was only supposed to be a short day release. But the Syrian (45) did not return to the clinic in Riedstadt (Hesse) on the 7th of February. He simply ran away.
His escape ended today ( February 14) in Leonberg-Eltingen after he attacked a 7-year-old girl with a pair of scissors.
The police describe the attack as follows: “According to the current police investigation, a dangerous assault was committed in a supermarket (photo) in Römerstraße in Eltingen on Tuesday evening ( February 13) by a prisoner who had escaped from a psychiatric ward.”

And further: “The 45-year-old man is said to have been in the entrance area of the supermarket and attacked a seven-year-old girl there shortly before 9.30 pm with so-called rescue cutters.”
The girl’s two courageous companions (15, 18) and two other brave witnesses (18), who were also in the store, brought the scissor-wielding man to the ground. Fortunately, the seven-year-old was only slightly injured and received outpatient treatment from the ambulance service.
Together with the security service, the perpetrator was detained until the police arrived. The Syrian was subsequently arrested without resistance and was taken to a psychiatric clinic in Wiesloch.
He has since been returned to Riedstadt.

Farmer protest supporters are ‘poisoning’ political discourse, Antifa minister claims

Nosta Lgia

Germany’s interior minister Nancy Faeser has demanded anyone supporting the farmer protests cease doing so, saying the movement was “poisoning” political discourse by pandering to “extremists”.

Faesar pointed to a recent farmers’ demonstration in Baden-Württemberg, held to oppose a Green party event, which resulted in the Green event being abandoned.

Speaking in the wake of the demonstration, Faeser accused the farmers of engaging in “violence” and “aggression”, insisting the demonstration had nothing to do with “democratic disputes”.

The interior minister — who this week launched government plans aimed at “smashing” the country’s growing political right — said those voicing support for recent disruptive anti-government protests were playing into the hands of populists.

“Anyone who verbally panders to radicals only strengthens the radicals that we have to fight together from the political centre,” she told the RND network — partly owned by Faeser’s own Sozialdemokratische Partei (SPD).

She took particular aim at Markus Söder, Baravia’s Christian Democrat PM, who recently compared Germany’s environment minister Steffi Lemke to notorious East German politician Margot Honecker.

“Comparing the Federal Environment Minister with Margot Honecker is poison for a political culture of respect that we urgently need,” she said.

The minister’s comments came after she launched a multi-point political programme to disrupt the operations of the country’s right wing.

Advertised as a way of “smashing right-wing extremist networks”, the project will involve tightening online censorship, banning certain organisations from receiving funds through Germany’s banking system, and preventing so-called “extremists” from either entering or leaving Germany “as much as possible”.

“We want to destroy right-wing extremist networks, deprive them of their income and take away their weapons,” Faeser declared, insisting that the new restrictions were necessary to “protect democracy”.

“It is about defending our open society against its enemies. We must do everything we can to prevent this inhumane ideology from further eating into our society.”

Faeser’s strong opposition to the country’s political right is a well-known feature of German politics.

For her part, the interior minister became embroiled in controversy after it was discovered she penned a guest article for a far-left magazine in the country which discussed combatting the growing far-right.

Titled “Antifa”, the magazine is published by the Association of those Persecuted by the Nazi Regime – Association of Antifascists (VVN-BdA).

That organisation in turn was described as Germany’s “largest left-wing extremist-influenced organisation in the field of anti-fascism”, by the state-operated Bavarian Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
