Ideas have consequences. And academia is full of the most unimaginably horrifying ideas you can imagine. And many you can’t. There is no idea too horrifying that it will not have its defenders in the university.
And Peter Singer is the poster boy for horrible ideas.
Singer, the godfather of the animal rights movement, and a Princeton professor of bioethics, has argued for euthanizing the disabled and claimed that animals have the same value as people.
After taking a brief break to blame Israel for the Hamas massacres, Singer decided to promote “thought-provoking article is “Zoophilia Is Morally Permissible” by Fira Bensto (pseudonym)” which “challenges one of society’s strongest taboos and argues for the moral permissibility of some forms of sexual contact between humans and animals. This article offers a controversial perspective that calls for a serious and open discussion on animal ethics and sex ethics.”
Peter Singer is a vegan.
This isn’t Singer’s first go-around. There’s an entire article in the Journal of Clinical Ethics from 2003 titled, “Peter Singer and Bestiality.”
When you have an article in a journal that uses your name and bestiality as its title, something has already gone very wrong. But Singer’s entire existence is a sign that something has gone very wrong. Here’s some quotes from 2002.
Sex with animals is all right if it is consensual. “Your dog or whatever else it is can show you when he or she wants to engage in a certain kind of contact.”
He modified his previously published view that parents should be able to kill a child up to 28 days after birth. On second thought, he said, “you can’t really propose any cutoff date,” but the decision should be made “as soon as possible after birth.”
And yet Peter Singer continues to be quoted in the media as a serious thinker on ethical issues.
(…) The headmaster of the high school filed a complaint for “public incitement to hatred or violence based on origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion”. “I can only condemn these kinds of actions, as they convey a message of hatred that has no place in a school or anywhere else,” he told Midi Libre. The headmaster quickly had the three placards in front of the school removed (…) The Jeunes d’Oc group explained on social media that they had wanted to “symbolically close” the high school because teachers there had been “threatened with death by a student in the final year”. According to the group, these threats had been made at “several schools”.
The abyss of leftist oblivion might actually be bottomless; take a look below:
Talk about sheep.
Did these girls just see a bleating flock of “progressives” and decide to join? (Sure seems like it.)
Is their ignorance an outlier, or a reflection of the rest of the crowd? (I suspect the latter.)
To be honest, I’m pretty taken aback at how a single young person in the first world can have made it all the way through to November, more than thirty days after the Hamas attack, without having some inkling about what happened. Aren’t almost all young people, especially leftist young people on social media platforms, digital environments which have been totally saturated with content and opinions regarding the October 7th slaughter, as well as all the explosive demonstrations that have followed?
But in the context of this news item, I was even more perplexed, because these girls are actually at a “ceasefire” pro-Palestine protest… participating! But then I remembered that they are leftists, and ignorance has thus far proved to be an immutable characteristic, and I was slightly less confused—but still….
I mean really, to be this out of touch, you’d have to have crawled out from under a rock, completely ignored your phone, sprinted to the protest with a blindfold, and grabbed a premade prop—of course that’s mean to be farcical, but the crazy thing is, it’s not really an exaggeration.
(As Andrea Widburg noted in an essay today though, perhaps I’m wrong, and the noticeably antisemitic and anti-Israel algorithms on these social media platforms, especially TikTok, are to blame for the profound ignorance.)
As the girl in yellow said, “Honestly I think I need to be a bit more clued up on everything that’s going on, so I feel like I’m not really qualified to answer that too well.”
Yeah, trust us, we’re acutely aware.
How much do we want to bet that these women are actively voting? They’re probably against Brexit, but I doubt they’d be able to tell you what the initiative is; obviously one can assume they’re pro-abortion, but you know they wouldn’t be able to offer an intelligent thought, instead having to rely on phrases like “clump of cells” and “fetuses aren’t babies”; and I suspect they’d support “rainbow dildo butt monkey” at library events with children if in fact, they were “clued up” on that situation, but in all likelihood, they’re not.
This exchange proves once again that there are people involved in the political process who have literally no understanding of anything, and therefore have no business being involved in said process. They’re welcome to make blind decisions based on zero facts in their personal lives, but when it comes time to the lives of others? Absolutely not.
Voting, and having a say in public policy, are not unalienable “rights” that accompany a person just because they simply exist—voting bears with it a tremendous responsibility, often summed up by the “elections have consequences” catchphrase, but unfortunately, only one group of people takes that seriously.

A trans-identified male previously given a lenient two-year sentence in a youth treatment facility for girls after admitting to sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl has been handed a 15-year prison term for bludgeoning his friend to death with a rock.
Hannah Tubbs, born James Tubbs, now 27, had joked about gaming the system after he was tried and housed in a juvenile detention center for females. He had pleaded guilty to child sexual abuse, an offense he committed in 2014, two weeks before his 18th birthday. Tubbs has now accepted a plea deal and a charge of manslaughter for reportedly beating Michael Clark to death with a rock in an assault that took place in April 2019 in Kern County, California.
Prior to the plea deal, Tubbs had been charged with first-degree murder, threatening a witness, robbery and assault. In exchange for a lesser charge of manslaughter, Tubbs pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Victim Michael Clark, 22, was a camper from College Place, Washington. Deputy District Attorney Bryant Estep told the court that Tubbs and Clark were friends and were both participants in a “survivalist transient group,” a collection of homeless individuals who were camping together in the Lake Isabella area at the time of Clark’s death. During the trial, Clark’s father testified that Tubbs had lived with his son for a brief period.
Clark’s body was pulled from the Kern River in Lake Isabella in August 2019. He had been killed while camping in the area in April that year. Tubbs was charged on May 10 for the homicide, then remanded to the custody of a male jail on a $1 million bond.
Kern County District Attorney Investigator Donald Krueger testified last May that, when questioned about Clark’s death, Tubbs had claimed to have dual personalities competing in his mind.
Investigator Krueger detailed how Tubbs had told him about a “transgender-me” as one of his personalities. Tubbs also claimed to have a darker, angrier persona that caused him to black out and commit actions that he later cannot recall.
Tubbs had told Krueger at that time that his darker side took over during Clark’s killing, around April 21, 2019, when he reportedly beat the young man to death with a rock.
Tubbs first made headlines last February after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a young girl in the bathroom of a family restaurant in 2014. He was two weeks shy of his 18th birthday when he followed the 10-year-old into the bathroom of a Denny’s in Palmdale, California, grabbed her by the throat, and forced his hand down her pants. He only stopped his attack when someone entered the restroom, and then ran away before he could be detained.
A judge in Antelope Valley, California, ruled that Tubbs would be sent to a juvenile detention facility, where he would be kept with underage female delinquents.
L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón had ruled in early 2022 that he would not take Tubbs’ case out of juvenile court, stating that he would not press for jail time in an adult facility, as the crime was committed while Tubbs was 17-years-old.
During the January 27 hearing, Judge Mario Barrera stated repeatedly that he was limited to sentencing Tubbs to two years because the District Attorney’s Office did not file a request to transfer the case to adult court.
“Judge Barrera’s hands were tied today — due to the fact that the DA’s office failed to file a motion to transfer Tubbs to adult criminal court, which is where [he] rightly belongs,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger of the judgment. “Instead, we’re left with a 26-year-old individual sentenced to two years in a juvenile facility in isolation, separated by sight and sound from the other juveniles.”
Soon after Tubbs was moved to the youth treatment center for girls, audio of a call between Tubbs and his father was leaked, in which the child molester was heard laughing and boasting about the lenient sentence being arranged for him.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s a strike, but they’re gonna plead, I’m [going to] plead out to them and then plead guilty. They’re going to stick me on probation. And it’s going to be dropped. It’s going to be done, done. I won’t have to register,” Tubbs said during the call, excitedly exclaiming “Nothing!” when his father asked what the consequences of his actions would be.
A repeat sexual predator and violent offender, Tubbs had previously been convicted of sexually abusing a four-year-old girl in the bathroom of a library in Bakersfield, California, and accused of fondling another four-year-old girl in the bathroom of a toy store.
Less than six months before attacking the 10-year-old girl in 2019, Tubbs had been given a four-year sentence for attacking a man with a knife while using the alias ‘Cesar,’ and had also been twice convicted of aggravated battery in the state of Idaho.
Local news reports on Tubbs’ recent plea deal and sentencing have referred to him simply as a “woman” or a “transgender woman,” despite being male. Tubbs reportedly began to claim a transgender status only after his arrest for the sexual assault of a child. The predator was charged as a man for the murder of Clark, under his given name James. However, presiding Judge Zulfa referred to the male detainee as ‘Hannah.’
In February this year, a Los Angeles attorney who assisted in the prosecution of the child molester was reportedly suspended from his role by the District Attorney’s office after being accused “misgendering and deadnaming” the predator.
Shea Sanna, who was the lead prosecuting attorney for part of the case against Tubbs, was suspended for 5 days without pay by Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón. Fox News was first to report the details in an article which used “she/her” pronouns to refer to the offender.
Sanna had previously argued Tubbs was attempting to use his gender identity to receive favorable treatment from the justice system, something Fox sources reported made others in Gascón’s office uncomfortable and ultimately led to the suspension.
Sanna told The Daily Mail, “Up until he was in custody, he was not transgender. He only uses transgender to get special housing. While in custody, he made a series of phone calls and I listened to 280, 285 maybe. Jail calls. Only in a couple did he refer to himself as a female, him and his dad. And that was when he was making up the transgender status. Every phone call, his dad is referring to him as James.”
While it has not yet been revealed whether Tubbs will serve his sentence in the female prison estate, California law requires inmates to be housed according to their self-declared gender identity. The Transgender Respect, Agency, and Dignity Act, also known as SB132, was signed into effect in January 2021 by Governor Gavin Newsom.
As of October 18, 2023 there were 1,847 incarcerated people of either sex who stated that they identified as transgender, non-binary or intersex, according to the state of California. Multiple violent men who claim to identify as women have been transferred into or sentenced to spend their terms in the female prison estate since the passage of SB132.
One such inmate is Dana Rivers, previously known as David Warfield. Rivers, 68, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in the case of a 2016 triple homicide which Judge Scott Patton had described as “the most depraved crime” he had ever handled during his 33-year tenure.
Our Senior Fellow Rafe Heydel-Mankoo told Talk TV that we, as a nation, must wake up to the reality we now face and stop pretending it doesn’t exist. We are in a clash of civilisations and values between Islam and its allies (BLM and the Far Left) and the rest of us. We need a strong and robust defence of our values. He calls upon all decent British folk to go to their local war memorials this Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday to show their support for our nation, our veterans and the freedoms and values they fought for. He also called on the media to stop labelling patriots as yobs or hooligans.
A Nigerian migrant has been arrested in Germany for luring a 17-year-old teenager to an underground car park in the Bavarian capital of Munich and raping her.
According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, the incident occurred just after midday on Nov. 1 in the Maxvorstadt district of the city. The German teenager was approached by her 40-year-old attacker near Munich’s main railway station and was persuaded to accompany him to the Old Botanical Garden in the city’s university district.
“Under the pretext of wanting to consume drugs with her, he took her to a nearby underground car park,” police said, where he became confrontational and demanded sex. When she refused, the man overpowered and raped her on the floor of the car park.
After the attack, the perpetrator quickly fled the scene and the teenager was able to leave the car park and approach a passer-by on Luitpoldstrasse whom she told of the attack.
Several police patrol vehicles were dispatched to the scene and a drive-by search of the area resulted in the authorities locating and arresting a suspect on suspicion of rape.
Police did not disclose much information related to the suspect’s background, but they did confirm he is a Nigerian national with no fixed address.
He was placed in pre-trial detention pending an initial court hearing the following day where a judge ruled he should remain in custody.
Uproar in Bad Ischl! The trigger is a landlord known for his funny sayings. His text about people who eat pork is explosive. And in the eyes of some, it went too far in view of the already tense political climate. Others agree with the pub owner. A plaque outside his restaurant reads: “Statistically speaking, people who eat pork are less likely to blow themselves and others up”. A provocation that is of course mainly aimed at Muslims. There is already a great deal of excitement about this on the internet, where images of the slogan are spreading rapidly. Some people there feel “deeply disappointed and offended”, while others see it as “pure racism”. In a free newspaper, one reader, who is even said to have lost his breath when reading the text, called for “messages of peace”, as the situation was already very tense anyway. However, opinions are not quite as clear-cut as the reporters would like to convey. A look at the comment columns clearly shows that the landlord is also getting a lot of support. “It’s a bit harsh, but unfortunately true,” says one user on Facebook. “Sometimes the plain truth hurts,” writes another. “He’s absolutely right,” is the response from many.
Despite being the state’s most popular party and commanding a third of the electorate’s trust, the conservative, antiglobalist Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) in Saxony-Anhalt has been labeled “extremist” by Germany’s federal domestic intelligence agency, prompting accusations of a politically motivated witch hunt of the party’s leaders.
The Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), which has exhibited a clear anti-AfD bias in the past, on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 7th, told the public broadcaster Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) that it had classified Saxony-Anhalt’s regional branch of the AfD as an extremist outfit.
Saxony-Anhalt’s BfV chief, in comments given to the news outlet, said that the regional branch of the AfD is “certainly right-wing extremist.” The classification comes after the party was placed under surveillance in 2021.
“The result is clear: The regional association not only continues to represent anti-constitutional positions that led to it being classified as a suspected case, but has also become so radicalized since the Corona pandemic that systematic observation using intelligence means is justified,” Hollmann said.
In comments given to The European Conservative regarding the BfV’s classification of his party, AfD Saxony-Anhalt executive committee member Jan Wenzel Schmidt strongly contested the BfV’s evaluation and accused the intelligence agency of undermining democracy.
“Hardly does the AfD appoint the first mayor in Saxony-Anhalt and lead in polls as the strongest force ahead of the CDU, when Jochen Hollmann, who is close to the CDU, classifies it as a definite case of right-wing extremism,” Wenzel Schmidt began. “It is an obvious attempt to discredit the only real opposition. The instrumentalization of the Constitutional Protection Agency to combat the only true opposition is the real damage to democracy.”
AfD Bundestag member Peter Bystron echoed Wenzel Schmidt’s remarks, suggesting that the BfV, through its classification of Saxony-Anhalt AfD, is declaring a third of the state’s voters to be right-wing extremists.
Bystron told The European Conservative:
After such surveys, who is still surprised that the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt has now been classified as “certainly right-wing extremist” by the so-called Office for the Protection of the Constitution? Especially when you consider that the Ministry of the Interior there is run by the CDU.
Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, the so-called Integrity Investigation Board has proposed that MPs from the conservative, antiglobalist Forum for Democracy,Thierry Baudet, Frederik Jansen, and Gideon van Meijeren, be suspended from the parliament for not resigning from their management positions at the meal company Honest Food.
Responding to the board’s proposal, the FvD, in an official statement, wrote:
Let us make one thing very clear: Baudet, Jansen, and Van Meijeren comply with all legal obligations. They report their additional income to the tax authorities every year, and their compensation is automatically reduced if this additional income exceeds a certain limit. Everything they do is accessible to the general public through the Chamber of Commerce (the entire business operations of their secondary activities are public). Baudet, Jansen, and Van Meijeren, therefore, do not act contrary to the law in any way.
What they are accused of is that they do not comply with certain ‘rules’—which were devised by MPs of the cartel to limit opposition members. But these rules have no right to exist in the light of the Constitution.
Baudet, the party’s leader, said: “In principle, our representatives are only accountable to the voter—not to MPs of the cartel.”
