UK hospitals chain won’t offend transsexuals – ‘pregnant people’ instead of pregnant women

A hospital chain in the UK has developed a new politically correct vocabulary so as not to “offend” transsexuals. Among other things, one should avoid calling pregnant women “women” or use language that is connected to motherhood. Breast milk, for example, will henceforth be called “human milk”.

In the eternal search for an increasingly politically correct language, not even the idea of embracing mental illness is a bridge too far. The competition in this race to the bottom seems to be between different western countries, with Sweden, the USA and the United Kingdom in the lead. At the moment, however, a hospital chain in the UK may at least have taken the lead in political correctness, reported the Daily Mail.

The Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust, which operates a number of hospitals in the city of Brighton, has now launched the UK’s first specialist language guide to “support trans- and non-binary mothers”.

The list of terms and words to change includes:

Breast milk – which should be changed to “human milk”
Motherhood – which should be changed to “parenthood”
Mother – which should be changed to “birth parent”

The hospital also urges its employees to try to transform gender terms such as “woman” into “they/them” and “person”.

The guide is intended to be used in documents, minutes and meetings, and it is hoped from the hospital’s side that it will also be used in the rest of the UK’s healthcare system. The guide clarifies that one should actively start adding words such as “people” instead of gender-specific names for pregnant women – despite the fact that of course only women can biologically become pregnant.

“Gender identity can be a source of oppression and health inequality,” it says in the guide, among other things.

Another ridiculous notion in the guide, that of “biological essentialism” suggests a belief that biological truths fundamental to humans, such as that women are biologically carriers of the offspring of the species and become pregnant and give birth to children, is somehow a problem. The current politically correct dogma instead claims that men can become women and women the opposite, as long as they decide or feel like it.

According to studies in the UK, less than one percent of the population is transsexual and moreover the number of women who think they are men and are still trying to get pregnant is very low. The frustration that a very small number of transsexuals feel about pretending that their delusions are reality, has been noticed by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals. And it has decided to extend the con game to include most sane people.

Gender dysphoria, which is the current medical term for transsexualism, is still classified as a mental illness and there is no effective treatment at present but the care offered focuses instead on changing the appearance of the body through medical and surgical treatment.
