Two in three Americans say they are less likely to support ‘woke’ capitalism

Major corporations in the US that try to comply with political decrees might have to think twice, a new national poll commissioned by The Daily Wire showed.

The results of the survey show that it is no longer just a fringe of the public who are fed-up with “woke” ideas. The Daily Wire hired SurveyMonkey to question 1026 Americans over 18 in a representative sample consisting of 31 percent Republicans, 34 percent Democrats and 35 percent Independents.

Some 64 percent of Americans – including a majority of baseball fans, Delta Air Line customers, and Coca-Cola consumers – were less likely to support businesses and organizations that get involved in political issues and debates, and 70 percent agreed with the following statement: “Businesses and sports teams should generally stay out of politics.”

And despite extremely negative media coverage, the key provisions of Georgia’s new election law are in fact popular: 78 percent of those polled, including a majority of Democrats, baseball fans, non-white Americans and people of all ages, support the requirement to show ID when voting by mail.

Moreover, 63 percent – including a majority of non-whites and 48 percent of Democrats – supported restrictions in Georgia law on the distribution of gifts, including refreshments, to voters near polling stations and polling lines. A majority of 67 percent of Democrats and non-whites supported Georgia’s stricter election policies.

The study also found that support for Georgia’s law increased significantly after Americans learned of its key provisions. Initially, 42 percent of Americans said they were in favour of the law and 38 percent were against it. After learning about the legislation, 71 percent agreed.
