Shouting “Allah Akbar”, a man with a knife threatens a woman in Paris and asks her if she is Jewish; he is taken into police custody

On Monday December 11, a man was arrested and taken into police custody in the 17th arrondissement of Paris shortly before 9pm. A few minutes earlier, he had attacked a woman on the corner of Boulevard Pereire and Avenue des Ternes, according to consistent sources. (…)

The man, who was armed with a 40 cm kitchen knife, is said to have wielded the weapon and shouted “Allah Akbar”. At the same time, he is said to have asked a passer-by whether she was of Israelite origin.
