Runner dies after Brooklyn marathon, 15 others hospitalized

A runner died on Saturday morning after completing the Brooklyn Half Marathon, authorities said. The 30-year-old man possibly went into cardiac arrest around 9 am local time and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The runner collapsed after the race. The New York Fire Department said 16 people had been taken to hospital, including the man who died. Four others were still in serious condition.

Some 22 000 runners took part in the half marathon. A police officer said four other people collapsed after the finish. According to the media, it was “unusually warm” during the marathon, but at around 9 am it was 21 degrees and the humidity was 83 percent. These temperatures are usual for the month of May in the city.

It is the first time since the start of the Corona crisis that the half marathon has been held again.

Earlier, 15 tennis players dropped out during the Miami Open, including favorites Paula Badosa and Jannik Sinner. They had to retire in the quarterfinals.

A real catastrophe for cyclists

In addition, an “extreme wave of disease” struck the cycling world. Belgian cyclist Iljo Keisse of Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl said he has “never experienced” such a wave of medical issues.

When asked whether he has ever experienced the wave of illness that is now striking the peloton, Belgian cyclist Keisse was adamant: “Never, no never. Never experienced something so extreme.” He speculated that the terrible state of cyclists could be linked to the jabs.

“[Previously there were] few sick people on a team, but now teams that can only start with one man or some teams even arrive with no one, I’ve never seen that,” explained Keisse. “I have no idea why, maybe because of those masks, that your immunity drops a bit and that you get infected very quickly, that’s one possibility,” said Keisse. “It may be a lot worse than everyone thinks. It may also be a result of the vaccination. That could be. Nobody knows. Hopefully we will know soon.”

When Italian cyclist Sonny Colbrelli collapsed at the end of March after the first stage in the Tour of Catalonia, in which he finished second behind Australian Michael Matthews, the European road champion and most recent winner of Paris-Roubaix had to to be revived and was then taken to hospital. After the sprint Colbrelli fell unconscious. He was transported to hospital “in stable condition”.

What happened to Colbrelli in Catalonia has caused quite a stir even though there are currently many cyclists with heart problems. Tom Teulingkx, president of the Belgian Association of Sports and Examination Doctors (VSK), said: “We have regularly seen athletes with myo- and pericarditis in recent weeks.”

Pfizer jabs linked to myocarditis

The Pfizer mRNA jab has been linked to hundreds of cases of myocarditis – with most occurring in young males, but not exclusively. While vaccine injuries involving professional athletes are often in the news, many unnamed jabbed citizens have also suffered the consequences.

According to the Daily Mail, an autopsy carried out by pathologist Dr. Sukhvinder Ghatauraon on Dawn Wooldrige, who died on June 15, 2021, showed her suffering from myocarditis as well as blood clots. Medical records revealed that Wooldridge, young mother of a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl, died after her second shot. She was found dead in her home by shocked relatives.

“On the balance of probabilities, she had vaccine-related problems. There is nothing else for me to hang my hat on. It is the most likely reason, in my conclusion. It is more than likely Dawn died in response to the Covid-19 [vaccine],” Ghataura said.

According to Toronto resident Dan Hartman, his son Sean died of heart muscle inflammation following the jab. Sean, who was only 17 had been a healthy athlete and like Dawn had no underlying medical conditions.
