Marxist Dictator Lula Declares State of Emergency Over Pro-Democracy Protests

Marxist dictator Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil, who was convicted of accepting bribes in Operation Car Wash, declared a state of emergency over pro-democracy protests against a stolen election.

Ever since the fraudulent election theft used to topple Brazil’s legitimately elected president Jair Bolsonaro, pro-democracy protests have continued, especially in rural areas.

After declaring a state of emergency, Lula has vowed to extend his crackdown on the pro-democracy protests to punish an assortment of political opponents.

Lula falsely claimed that there was “no precedent in the history of our country” for such riots. He appears to have forgotten that he built his career on protests, posturing as a martyr after being briefly locked up over those strikes.

The riots in the late 70s were far more violent than the pro-democracy protests that led to Lula declaring his state of emergency.

And for that matter, the more recent 2017 riots involving activists with Lula’s Workers’ Party were a good deal more violent.

Biden, predictably, came out in support of the Marxist dictator, calling the pro-democracy protests, an “assault on democracy” and declared that, “Brazil’s democratic institutions have our full support and the will of the Brazilian people must not be undermined.”

A foreign leader intervening in Brazil’s politics is the opposite of democracy. But leftists stick together.
