Marine Le Pen’s phone number leaked on social networks

The cellphone number of the president of the National Rally was published on social networks. Many strangers called her, forcing her to change her number and file a complaint.

For a few days at least this summer, Marine Le Pen has been unreachable. According to FranceInter, her personal phone number was leaked maliciously on social networks and she received many unwanted calls. She has filed a complaint.

“I was worried, she no longer answered!” a member of the National Rally (RN) told FranceInter. “The phone calls did not stop,” said one of her relatives, who wanted to remain anonymous.

A “commercial service”, according to the public broadcaster, which she had used, deliberately leaked the information. But the politician has simply shrugged it off.  “She does not come from a family which allows itself to be intimidated,” a member of her party commented.

Presidential campaign

Marine Le Pen is now focusing on her third presidential campaign. Her political return, announced for this weekend (September 11 and 12) will be in Fréjus (Var). In particular, her departure from the presidency of the RN to pass the torch to Jordan Bardella, will be officially announced. Le Pen is also expected to introduce several members of her campaign team.

The keyword of her candidacy will be “freedoms” – in plural. In an interview with Le Figaro published on Wednesday, September 8, she evoked the defense of “collective freedoms” through the establishment of proportionality and the creation of a referendum as a popular initiative. The other “great freedom”, according to her, is security, and the third is the “collective freedom to be able to protect our place of life” which includes ecology.

Among measures already announced is the nationalization of highways which would “lower the price of tolls by 10 to 15 percent” while providing one and a half billion euros per year to the State. The privatization of public broadcasting is its other major project, again with a view to safeguarding purchasing power. “It is 2,8 billion in royalties right there that we give back to the French,” she told the daily.

The Zemmour threat

In the Harris Interactive poll for September 8, done for Challenges, the Macron-Le Pen duel still dominated voting intentions, respectively with 25 and 23 percent in the first round, with a victory for the outgoing President in the second round (54 against 46 percent) . However, in the event of Eric Zemmour’s candidacy, the RN candidate would only get 19 percent, while Emmanuel Macron would still dominate with 23 percent.

The polemicist would collect 7 percent of the vote, taking away RN votes. The polling institute had given him 5 percent two months earlier. “This is a sign that his candidacy appears less and less hypothetical and more and more credible in the eyes of the French,” Jean-Daniel Lévy, the deputy managing director of Harris Interactive, told Challenges. Some 13 percent of those who voted for François Fillon in 2017 would now vote for Eric Zemmour, the CNewscolumnist, supporting the notion that Zemmour his simply a tool for dividing and weakening the National Rally’s bid for the presidency as many pundits have already pointed out.

Also in Le Figaro, Le Pen said that she did not see an opponent among those whom she considered to “believe in France”. She did not include Zemmour. “The real French suicide is the division of the national camp,” she said.
