“A Muslim man tried to kill his brother and brother-in-law who had left Islam and embraced the Hindu religion three years ago. The incident took place in a village named Siddhpur Chitrasen, located in Badaun District, Uttar Pradesh. Police arrested the accused and admitted the victim couple to a local hospital.
On March 28, 2023, the Hindi daily Amar Ujala reported that, according to the victim named Pranveer, he had left Islam and embraced the Hindu religion three years ago. His brother and other family members opposed his decision, but he refused them.
The prime accused, Umar Hussain, along with one other person, attacked the victim couple at 3 AM on March 26, 2023. They beat Pranveer and his wife, Geeta Devi, with sticks. People around reached the spot when they shouted for help. Pranveer called the police; however, both accused ran away. Police registered a case against both accused and started the investigation….”
