The church was built at the end of the 12th century in connection with an Augustinian convent. As an archdeaconry church, it comprised a northern and a southern transept and had side aisles and side chapels. During the 30 Years’ War, the Holle church was also completely destroyed. Due to a lack of money, the church could only be rebuilt provisionally at first, before it was given its present form between 1768 and 1771. Here, the pulpit from 1690 was also moved and changed into a baroque pulpit altar.

So far unknown perpetrators apparently threw a stone against a window from the outside. A stained glass element was completely destroyed. The glass element must now be specially manufactured by a specialised company. The total amount of damage is about 1000EUR.
