Horrific bloody deed in a supermarket!
In an Edeka shopping centre in Verden, a man (40) stabbed a woman (27) with several knife wounds on Wednesday afternoon.
Particularly cruel: the woman’s little daughter (3) from Eritrea was present and had to watch from close range as her mother was critically injured.
According to information from the newspaper BILD, a courageous shop employee (58) was able to distract the perpetrator for a short time. He was arrested by police while still in the store and is now in custody. The man from Afghanistan is being investigated for attempted manslaughter.
The woman who was attacked is currently in hospital, fighting for her life. The girl has been handed over to the youth welfare office for the time being.
It is still unclear why the attack occurred. It is possible that they were in a relationship; the victim and the perpetrator are said to have known each other beforehand. The woman was in the supermarket in the company of a man at the time of the attack.
