Germany: Afghan man stabs woman in parking lot to death in front of her 8-month-old child

Yesterday, Thursday, shortly after 8 p.m., a violent crime was committed in Plattling in which a 20-year-old woman was killed.

According to the current state of investigations, the 20-year-old woman drove to the scene of the crime in a car to visit her 28-year-old partner. The 28-year-old was working in a snack bar there. For reasons not yet known, a dispute arose between the man and the woman at the snack bar.In the course of the argument the man stabbed the woman several times with a knife. The woman suffered severe injuries to her upper body and died at the scene of the crime. The alcoholized 28-year-old was arrested by the Plattling police without resistance. At present, no reliable information can be given about the background and motives of the crime, but it is likely that they are private.In the woman’s vehicle was also the approx. 8-month-old infant belonging to the couple. The child was not injured in the attack. The Youth Welfare Office has taken the child into care and placed it in a foster family.The crime scene was cordoned off during the night with the help of Plattling Fire Department. Specialists of the Straubing Criminal Police conducted the forensics. The suspected murder weapon was found at the scene of the crime. Several witnesses of the crime were interrogated by the criminal investigation department during the night of the crime.The Deggendorf criminal investigation department is carrying out the investigations in close cooperation with the Deggendorf public prosecutor’s office. The suspect, an Afghan national, will be brought before the investigating judge at the Deggendorf District Court today in the course of the day. The autopsy of the corpse will take place today, August 7, 2020, at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.In connection with the crime, the Deggendorf criminal investigation department is looking for a further witness who was at the scene of the crime. According to current findings, this man drove off in an unknown direction immediately after the crime in a VW Golf Plus, on which a fender was taped or fixed with adhesive tape.
