German Greens trip over their ‘gender as a speech act’ law

David Allison applied as a member of the German Green party for a “women’s seat” to make the absurdity of his party’s trans politics clear. Allison, a research assistant, wanted to initiate a debate about gender as a “speech act” with his move. However, no debate was allowed on this issue and he was fired instead.

In July 2021, David Allison applied in Reutlingen as a “woman” for a gender quota position on the board of directors because he claimed that he “defined” himself “as a woman”.

The father of two did not mean that seriously, however. He just wanted to show his party colleagues the consequences of Green gender policies, that is that “all people have the exclusive right to define their gender” and that “the term ‘women’ includes all who define themselves in this way.”

“If everyone can define themselves as a woman by ‘speaking’, it will be easy for men to penetrate into spaces that women have fought for,” Allison rightly pointed out. And indeed: the bearded man was allowed to run “as a woman” but no one in the Green district association protested. “A Green man can do anything!” Allison concluded.

After his action, Allison was told to clear his desk right away

The Green man should have known better as to challenge his party’s Trans agenda with an ironic act. Allison was fired and released with immediate effect. Cindy Holmberg, a Green member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, for whom he worked as a research assistant, fired him – without giving any reason.

German weekly EMMA questioned Holmberg about this harsh step: “It is correct that I duly fired Mr. Allison in September. When I personally handed over the notice of termination, I explained the reasons verbally to him.” The member of the state parliament Holmberg refused to say what they were.

Even David Allison did not want to comment on the content of the “employee interview”. It remains to be seen whether the native Brit, who also worked as a translator, will be able earn a living now.

The reason for his dismissal is apparently not even that Allison dared to launch this satirical act – but rather because he himself had made it public since Allison’s action was not mentioned in the county board’s press release either. “That annoyed me,” explained Allison. He then wrote about it in the media and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten reported on his comments.  This was enough to promptly receive his notice of termination.

The Green spokesperson for gender does not want to comment on the dismissal

A debate on this matter was evidently not wanted. The idea of gender as a pure “speech act”, which the Greens also want to forge into law soon, is however a highly questionable move. This is being done to ensure that 14-year-olds can declare a “change of sex” by simply walking into the registry office. This is essentially what the “Self-Determination Act” would mean, which they had already introduced to the Bundestag, albeit unsuccessfully.

“Any 16-year-old student could define themselves as a woman and enter the girls’ shower,” explained Allison. The father of two daughters also wondered whether the “gender change via speech act” would not drive a worrying development: The number of biological girls who “transition” to boys via testosterone and surgery has exploded in recent years.

“We have clearly positioned ourselves in this debate,” responded the queer political spokesman for the Greens in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, Oliver Hildenberg. But no one knows what “clearly” means.

Markus/Tessa Ganserer says ‘a penis is not a male genital per se’

On September 26, Tessa Ganserer, the member of the Bavarian state parliament, was elected to the Bundestag. Before the law, Tessa Ganserer is actually a man named Markus dressed in a miniskirt. He has not had sex reassignment surgery yet. He also has not changed his civil status, which he could legally do without changing his body surgically.

Ganserer nevertheless defines himself “as a woman” and as such sits for the Greens in the Bundestag. He claims that “a penis is not a male genital per se” and that has worked very well for his quota job so far.
