The police have to investigate the case completely. Last Tuesday, a 24-year-old woman was found beaten and unconscious in the entrance hall of her apartment building by her ex-life partner. Two hours earlier, the young woman had appeared at the Blois police station to lodge a complaint against her ex-life partner. The complaint was not recorded because the police asked the young woman to come back the next day to file the complaint. She did not have time to do so.
Since then, the victim named Chloé has been in a hospital bed and is in a coma from which it is not known if she will recover. The alleged attacker was arrested, questioned and remanded in custody. He admitted to hitting the victim but denied that he had intended to kill her.

“Chloe passed the mobile phone to the policeman, on the other end of the phone her mother begged him to take her complaint. But he refused. She assured him that her attacker would be waiting for her in front of her daughter’s house, but the policeman refused to set up any kind of personal protection,” the mother added, according to which the young woman had suffered beatings “in the first few weeks of getting to know him”.
Chloé had met her partner, who is “of the Muslim faith”, in August, the relative continued. “He very soon asked Chloé to convert to Islam (…) She isolated herself and did not talk to her family about her problems,” she said. TF1
