France: A former Islamist terrorist and his “religiously married on social networks” companions are convicted of child pornography offences

Three people were sentenced on Thursday by the court in Tulle to 7 and 2 years in prison without parole and 8 months on probation. A man and two women were on trial for possession and distribution of child pornographic images. The man is serving time in Uzerche Prison for offences that are already related to child pornography. The two women are his partner and his ex-partner, who had passed a mobile phone to him in prison so that he could visit child pornography sites.

[…] The man is 30 years old, but has already spent 10 years behind bars. Drugs, violence, thefts – he’s done it all since he was 14 years old. Even terrorism: in 2015 he was sentenced to six years in prison in Paris for trying to build a bomb in his garage. […] Among other things, he claimed that when he was released, he wanted to kill one person from the police or judicial apparatus for each of his years in prison.

This is where his two wives emerge, both converts to Islam, whom he met via social networks and even married religiously. Neither are obviously bothered by their husband’s terrorist past. Nor really by his penchant for taking pictures of young children. One of them has even acquired a taste for it herself: She has a criminal record for raping minors under 15. France Bleu
